Totally ❤❤❤
Me too
REAL
I clicked because of Mya’ but stayed because of the conversations. This was really amazing and we definitely need more talks like this between us.
Clicked because I saw Mya & I know she's always positive!
Never seen her linked to drama her entire career.
we love you mya ❤️
I adore Mya, she is still that chick.
Girl..Kim Kardashian didn't put hips and booty on the map! All the black women were like.."Ummm" lol
I feel like Mya has been gorgeous since the beginning of time. She's like Sade. They age so well.
Thank you for having me? It was truly an honour to be part of this conversation ❤
No, thank YOU for joining us for such a beautiful conversation and being vulnerable ❤
Kim K??? Really girl?!?!?!?!?!?!
@@cindynell583 Can't lie, I was like what da? Curves been in the black community, but I guess it was not for other racial communities. So...idk
@@cindynell583we just need to start embracing ourselves within our culture communities etc…that’s actually the problem we wait on society to praise us, we should praise ourselves
I really appreciate Chef briefly speaking on her nephew’s body dysmorphia. Many times we highlight the insecurities of women and the beauty standards that rock us without realizing that our men can also suffer silently.
Great conversation! All of our inner r&b video girls screaming for Mya, she's still so gorgeous.
I love Carla's hair, personality, creativity in food.
Mya is so graceful and well spoken. Never heard her talk before. Loved Carla since she competed on Top Chef. This was a nice discussion.
I would love to see Mya explore her own podcast journey! She looked like she had more say/inspire ❤
This conversation was so beautiful but starting off with the KK comment made me so sad. KK did not make curvy bodies accepted, she made surgical enhancements accepted, and that's a huge difference. To mention her in a conversation about body dysmorphia is so invalidating. Especially with Mya at the table who has created a platform for embracing and caring for your curves using healthy food and movement. Besides that, this talk was amazing. Im excited for the series.
Thats exactly what I said ! I was like is this girl for real right now ! Specially when she Has Mya sitting at the table with the natural curves like what !?
KK definitely is no role model, nor is she someone who should be viewed as a standard for any kind of natural body image. Her is not. There is the room for conversation about the body dysmorphia associated with plastic surgery. It's crazy how people ignore that part. It's all rooted in not feeling like your body is quite right.
I do think she really needs to stop acting like the parts of her body that are surgery given are natural. Just own the surgeries, and start the conversations on what's associated with the obsession to so quickly and easily risk dying to change your body, by cutting it apart, or cutting into it and adding pieces in. And the down time for these surgeries to heal isn't lightweight either. It's years of pain, torture, and extreme situations where you can't use that part of your body for weeks or months at time because it's such extensive amount of alteration to the body even for just that one little change, that it takes months to properly heal. And it doesn't even last for your lifetime.
Where's the worth it trade off? I don't see it. You don't stay that way for ever, it's expensive as all hell, you could literally DIE even if the surgery goes PERFECTLY, and it takes years to see the actual result and you could be in pain for the rest of your life even if it's healed well. Because of pulling, or how the skin or muscle naturally healed, etc.
Guys I think she meant in the white community
She did preface by saying "This will be controversial". That said, if this is her truth, it is truth. Controversial or not, Kim K was her entry into the world of body positivity as ridiculous and unwarranted it may be.
I felt like what, Kim K, get out of here! Not only is it man made but also, she is definitely not who made it pop. But then I realized, maybe for European woman she is… 🤷🏽♀️
Loved seeing Mya of course but I also loved being able to hear from Nazanin. I never knew much about her outside of Miguel.
Omg came to see Mya but thoroughly enjoyed everyone and the wonderful conversation!!!
Happy to hear you stuck around for the conversation!❤
Love Mya & how she’s not a follower in the business.
Absolutely love Carla Hall! Beautiful spirit, authentic light✨
This was such a good conversation! I came for Monica and Mya!
Please more Mya in my timeline! ❤
All gorgeous women, love Mya ❤
Monica Veloz represent ❤ 🇩🇴 😊
Great conversation ladies. I’m sure you all helped a lot of people 😌
Thank you for having this conversation. We need to stop picking ourselves apart. The most important relationship is with ourselves
Man and I just ran across this and instantly it made me subscribe to this channel supporting women beauty just positivity, just supporting women and being a woman. It’s beautiful. ❤
Yessss Mya! Embrace your uniqueness ❤
MYA❤❤❤
This truly was uplifting, considering the day I am having as a single mom of 2 and graduating in my mid 30s. Today was a trying day and to see and hear this was the universe saying,”keep going and stop doubting; it’s okay to be sad but overcome it and know you are not alone in thoughts.” SO THANK YOU
Here for MY FAVEEEE MYAAAAAAA💕💕🤍🤍🤍
Came for Monica 🇩🇴 stayed for the conversation ✨
This was absolutely a breath of fresh air! Everyone had incredible positive energy. ✨️
Beautiful ladies. Beautiful setting. And delicious food made by Chef Carla herself! 👩🏽🍳
Great girl talk with a spa like ambiance. Quite exquisite. 🪷
this should get many more views, it's really hard to find this channel but I am so glad I did
Why do I feel like Jazmine Sullivan should have been at this table
Bro yes replace iskra and thr other white girl no offense 😅
@@Daydreamerr13 like frfr
Real talk 💯
Yes she should have
No she shouldn’t have, stop projecting your fan, girl, club stuff on others
This was one of those conversations that you needed without knowing that you needed it. I am special, I am important and I am blessed. That’s what I got out of this. So thank you ladies for this amazing and beautiful segment. Women are strong and powerful. And I’m proud to be one. Stay safe and stay strong. As well as healthy. We got this. 😊❤👍🏾
We need MORE of this!!!! PLEASE❤❤❤
Such a beautiful conversation to be apart of. Thank yall for sharing these experiences.
Mya seems so sad. Always loved her
No, she's just pensive and practicing active listening lol what u mean!!??
Okay, I was wondering about that, too, and I just wanted to reach in and hug her for being in such a vulnerable space.
But I get it from the perspective of @athenakama that she was just listening and being introspective and pensive.
@@AthenaKama There are no digs or mean comments in my end... just observations. Thanks
I think we are just sad we didn’t get to enjoy her for many years because they blackballed her, and we sorta project our grief of losing her those years onto her a bit. But she seems to me HAPPIER than all of her peers of the time comparatively. I mean she looks HEALTHY and THRIVING!!! And for a celebrity like her to have such active listening and connection skills… wow.
I love this interaction…: I need ladies like this in my life
This was truly helpful for me cause I’m in a season of struggling with my body image in a way I’ve never experienced. I need to hear everyone past and how they struggle cause some just hearing the good bits makes it feel impossible to change. Thank you!
Loved and needed this. I felt it when she said saving clothes and grieving an old body.
Mya!!!!
MYA IS GORGEOUS.👏👏 She needs a comeback!! Jesus will fix it. AMEN, AMEN💝💖💝💖
Mya!!
Loved it. Seeing someone from PG County MD is exciting. Everyone was just beautiful and the conversation was amazing...
Mya is my idol!❤
Came for monica stated for the conversation 🎉
Girl, Kim Kardashian did not put hips and curves on the map., but I’ma let you cook, though 🧑🏾🍳🧑🏾🍳🧑🏾🍳
I watched this for Mya but overall this was a really good conversation on how sick society is!
Came for Mya , Nina &’ Monica But Loving This . This is Turning Out Beautifully
Thanks for bringing me to this, Nazanin. It was wonderful seeing you and Maya.
Thank you beautiful ladies! Such a needed conversation of encouragement & perspective shift around beauty. ❤ Bravo! 🙌🏾
Debbie Allen would've been a perfect addition ❤
I'm glad my Mya could get a decent meal to eat.. Thanks!!
So glad I put a reminder on this and home to watch! Love all of you women! Nina, you are fire! Sending virtual love and wish I was at that table!
Lebron James Executive Producer. Who knew?
I don't understand the Kim K examples....because black women have been showing our curves for centuries and told that our beauty was not the standard but it will forever be the standard.
Other than chaka khan, I'm having a hard time thinking of American full figured artists. Alot of them were slim like mya and Whitney. Now in west Indian culture different story lol
@@cassindermuppet8259that may be true, but….Kim Kardashian?
@@honeysucklehealing9940 I know, trust I feel the same way
Iskra is 33 and a very much a ww not from america. Her answer makes a lot of sense lol and whether we like it or not kim made her mark in the media as far as it goes for pear shaped women. Both can be true. Bw have our lane and culture and we know it, we don’t need to whataboutism everytime kim’s name is mentioned its reductive we’ve been doing it online since 2014.
@@honeysucklehealing9940yes, prior to 2014 the game was all about thinness. The kardashians changed a lot whether we admit or not they did. It is what it is, doesn’t make them some upstanding perfect ppl lol their flaws still exist
I loved this conversation!! 😭😭😭 thank all of you for sharing ❤
This was beautiful and what's crazy is that im constantly talking about how i didn't like that my back extended into my rear making my back look longer. This was empowering, encouraging and encompassing. This feel like love you feel with a warm towel. I hope this can be a table talk we can continue to have conversations about how much we are similar no matter the skin ❤❤❤
What a breath of fresh air. Loved every moment of this conversation. The decor was simply elegant and the food looked incredible. My kinda brunch experience. Thank you for sharing!
Elated to see Monica in this space!
It is interesting how curves on other races besides Black women is deemed as beautiful. Black women were rocking Naturally what Kim K enhanced.
But on screen I dont think as much, alot of women I think of off the top are slim or not super curvy other than chaka. Man I really can't think of alot. Karyn white, jody watley, Whitney....they're all slimmer women.
@@cassindermuppet8259 thats because the media doesn't deem black women natural curvy bodies and natural big lips as attractive ,but other races who buy those same curves and get lip injections are deemed beautiful by the media instead, the media doesn't even like displaying black women natural hair textures
@@cassindermuppet8259 thats because the media doesn't like black women natural curves and natural big lips ,the media doesn't even like displaying black women natural hair textures
Black women have always have the natural curvy hourglass figure and the bigger full lips
@@cassindermuppet8259 really , these must have slipped your mind 🙄 Aretha Franklin, Oprah, Jill Scott, Octavia Spencer, queen Latifah, fantasia, jazmine Sullivan, Jennifer Hudson etc.
Truly enjoyed watching this discussion and hearing the stories of these fabulous women. Love!
This was such an enriching conversation to watch. Thank you all ladies for sharing your stories.
Always happy to see Mya 🫶🏾 great convo ladies.
And this is why i did a bio on mya...i love her energy!
This was a great conversation ❤
I think Mya meant silver lipstick cuz we did that in highschool when I lived in FL, and u couldn't tell us nothing. Shoot it looked good on Missy back then too 😅
Yes! My mom wear the silver lip too lol
I absolutely love this concept
I so love Mya!!! I like this table♥️
This is where I’m at in life🥰
Wow this was AMAZING. We need more things like this instead of the nonsense we watch on a regular. This was so inspirational, interesting, and educational wow just to see ladies from all sorts of backgrounds and walks in life understand each other and have such intertwined experiences is beautiful!
Listening to this conversation about body dysmorphia and realized that I might have it. Thank you to these ladies for having such an open conversation!
I have it. It's a daily struggle
I am just loving these dining conversations! What an inspiration!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🫂💕
Never heard of most of these ladies except for Mya and Carla. Great conversation and a celebration of women which we need more of.
So refreshing and enlightening. Thanks for sharing ladies 💕
Loved this conversation! 🤎🤎🤎
Came for Mya and stayed for the rest of these beauties!!!
Loved these ladies ❤and the love they have for themselves
This was beautiful!! We need more of this. All beautiful ladies from different walks that have the beautiful likeness ❤
LOL the way Carla was looking when KK was mentioned as the standard for "curves".
Also adding Ali Stroker to represent beautiful and talented women with disabilities to the table was perfect. Maybe next time ,Lolo Spencer, who's a Blk disabled women, to the table can happen.
Amazing.... more episodes, please.
I really enjoyed this episode 🎉🎉
This was just what I needed! ☺️💗
I love this. Thank you!❤️
Amazing conversation.
Beautiful Platform and Discussion🤍
I needed this! I've always spoke negatively about myself. Last year, I finally decided to embrace my gray hair. It's still hard to accept because I am constantly told that I look old. A few weeks ago, a man said to me. With your gray hair, you look like my 89 year old aunt. Strangers think I am my bestie's mother and we're 5 years apart. But I refuse to dye my hair, so they need to get over it.
Only watching cuz I saw Mya!!!❤❤❤
Loved this segment great conversation
