I guess today is the day to set records straight. Mark was suffering from the flu and your right we were not at our best. which was too bad given the company.
Dana Colley: If this is the real Dana Colley and not someone posing as him using his name as their user-name here on AdTube, I just want to tell you how amazing your band was and how much of musical genius that I feel Mark Sandman was (something I'm sure that you feel and know deeper than I can given your association with him as band-mate and fellow songwriter). The term "musical genius" has a tendency to be thrown around a bit too liberally in our culture, but Mark genuinely deserved that recognition more than was given to some musicians contemporary with him during that gen-x era. Mark wasn't the only stellar talent in Morphine -- all three of you were a perfect storm as a collective -- lightning in a bottle talent that doesn't happen very often. Morphine's music, more than that of most other "modern rock" bands of that era, gets better with age and doesn't feel locked into that period in time and doesn't feel dated a quarter century later. Thank you so much for making the great music you made in Morphine during Mark's truncated lifetime -- how heartbreaking it still is that he isn't still around to keep making more music with you guys and touring and performing live with you. It would so nice to know where and how his songwriting and songcraft would have evolved over the past couple of decades had he survived to this point.
I never would have noticed without this comment! You guys sounded great! Im way late to the party and just discovered the band a few weeks ago but I havent listened to anything else since. Cure for Pain is the perfect album.
I listen to this song on repeat for hours sometimes…comforts and helps with sadness. I’ve always wanted to transfer your awesome sax solo to the guitar…one day I’ll get to it.
@@DanaColley1 yes I’m still learning! I’m not there yet. I should be but I’m not…yet! Thank you!! I think I first heard your song on SNL…always remembered the power, love, truth, bottom and originality of it! Timeless! Buena is the other amazing one I binge on.
A classic track from a legend in music history. I love everything Mark Sandman ever did before his untimely demise. From Treat Her Right, Morphine and everything in between.
la vi y escuche en el show y por imbécil. APENAS HOY PONGO LIKE. Solo quiero decir que cuando la vi y escuche note que MARK en mi opinión quería despedirse y esta versión es y el momento eran perfectos. Agrego suscripción por la amabilidad de mostraserala a todos
I love morphine...cool style, and the name fits perfectly...i like how they name themselves Morphine, a painkiller, write a song called cure for pain, and all that while Sandman, the singer, looks like he is high all the time...:D
@maynard7 this is not a bad performance at all, from the look in his eyes you can tell he isn't feeling well but I didn't feel it hindered the performance. Only difference I can tell is that Mark wasn't singing into the bullet mic.
Cool nice track. So it's just bass, sax and drums? What tuning on the bass? 🤔 You could ask the guy playing the sax to harmonise with the vocal when he ain't playing. Make it on jools you're going places.
Flu... Shmooo! I don care. A great track from a truly great band. A shame that Clanky fingered Jools didnt seem to see the light! God does mediocrity suck!!

for me..it was beautiful, Cheers Guys
High Temp Morphine is still good Morphine. Do you have a personal favorite live performance from your band, Dana?

Some day...they'll be a cure for the flu
Sounds good to me. Morphine killed it even on a bad day
no regret just the reality of that moment where we were all run down at this point but... no regrets. Just some inside info on the performance.
Cheers
@Matt C Same man, can't believe how good they were!

Morphine - Cure for pain
I see what you did here :D
LOS MEJORES
Seriously, Mark looks miserable, yet, 'bad' Morphine is still better than 99% of anything out there.
Can someone please tell me why is Mark wearing a short with the Lebanese flag on it?
well, i think these dudes rock
Pretty amazing still, flu and all!

Zac Dior the singer/bassist died of a heart attack. This band is long over, they were from the 90s
It's a two string bass and he's using a slide.
MARK te veaias enfermo RIP eras el mejor
Even though Mark sounds a bit off here the performance is still VERY good.
He got flu that night…
@maynard7 we? holy crap were you in the band?
awesome!
Anyone know when this was first broadcast in the UK ? 93? 94 ? :-)
I think 94
Arte Musical
The performance was awesome anyway...we miss you.
@GuimoXoX In two ways, depending on what you mean with morphine :D
A los de "Traffic" también les gustó la "Morfina"....: )

Great video, but TERRIBLE sound quality. Sorry.
Mark looks wasted.
+wormword He was physically sick at the time, check Dana Colley's comment from 2011.

So sad he's fucked up here. Such talent
Poor Mark. He looks like the heroin was in charge during this performance...
Every song sounds the same
