I'm actually listening to this right now just to hear the history! Lol last night it was for sleep, but you do such a great job explaining, I want to learn about them. 😊 Thank you Kate!
I love the whispered readings you do, Kate. I sometimes will listen on my headphones while laying in bed to try and fall asleep when dealing with insomnia. It works. I started a 6 hour compilation you put together last night, and before I knew it, I was out cold and slept like a baby. Thanks for making these videos. I also enjoy listening just to relax as well. It is very enjoyable and educational as well. 😊
I’m new to your channel, I absolutely love this video. I’ve listened 3 times already. I love listening to the history of our monarchy but your ASMR voice is perfect. Sooo gentle and relaxing ❤Thankyou!
Kate's voice, exactly the right one. That is for me. And yes, a bit too hypnotic/relaxing. I am certain that if I put this video on beside my pillow I'll be drifting off in no time. Keep it up.
Love listening to the history! We aren’t taught any of this in america, so it’s most interesting to listen to! It also is my go to video when I need to fall asleep! 😊
As odd as it sounds, I've been listening to these at work and have found it exceptionally helpful in staying focused and calm whilst completing my tasks. Excellent way to fulfill my interest in History, awesome stuff! Perhaps I should try listening when I'm off to bed 🤔
Thank you Kate, you’ve inspired me to attempt to make some videos myself after so long watching you and others. Thanks for all your videos and a happy new year to you 🙂
Every time i wake up in the morning jm always on one of these videos and im not sure why, I haven’t subscribed or anything. I think now because sleep me has listened to so many of these they just automatically play every time 🤣🤣
This channel is heaven for me, and this video is my favorite. British history spoken , by someone with a wonderful british accent , what can be better???🥰🤗❤🙌🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
i don’t know how but i stumbled upon your video at random, and i am grateful for it. i love to learn about everything history, and because im from the united states, i barely knew any of this haha. so fun and calming at the same time 😊 thank you! look forward to watching all of your videos ❤❤❤
As an American, I find it grand I know that William The Conqueror smacked down Godwinson on Oct 14th 1066 at battle abbey near Sinlac Hill. Harold Gadrada never stood a chance to the throne.
William III and Mary II were the last King and Queen of England their successor Queen Ann unified the titles of Scotland and England in 1702 so your title heading of King's and Queens of England lasts until Queen Ann, the title monarch of England dies in 1702 . King James I of England was also James VI of Scotland he reigned over two counties
Not sure how often you get this question. I just found and subscribed. But can you please do a full movie like Gibi did (the bee movie) you could so pull off National Treasure!
Do they teach this to children in school as they do with our children in the United States and our presidents? May sound like a dumb question but I’m so curious as fascinated by royal history and Britain as a country.
I know we get a brief history lesson about it because it is part of our history with the American revolution. Of course our history books put a slight negative cloud around the monarchy and British government when it comes to the Boston tea party and the revolution. Britain just seems so refined lol I need to move. Thank you for your amazing content !!
It's sooooo refreshing to see and hear an American not use the collection term for great Britain and Ireland as England its quite disheartening as times when not only Americans will refer to England as the whole of the UK or they will call the reigning monarch King or Queen of England to which the last King and Queen of England ruled in 1702 William III and his wife Mary II they shared the title equality ❤️
The original "Assassins" were not an 'order of Shia Muslims', they were actually the leftover henchmen of the Umayyad dynasty, who once had tyrannical rule over almost two thirds of the world. They were staunch enemies of all Muslims and any religions. Their aim was to wipe out all morality in the world, brutally butchering anyone who opposed them. This led to the martyrdom of Hussain, the grandson of Muhammad, as well as his sons, (one of whom was just 6 months old) his brother, Abbas and several of his nephews, friends and companions at Karbala, Iraq in 680AD. This tragic event, known as Ashura, is still commemorated worldwide every year by Shia Muslims and other denominations and even other religions, as a period of mourning for Hussain and the family of Muhammad. It is also regarded as the victory of good over evil, and many English writers and historians, including Edward Gibbon and Charles Dickens, as well as prominent figures, such as Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, among others, have commented on the bravery and steadfastness of Hussain in the face of tyranny and oppression. I'm a new subber btw, love your whispered readings!
So many nights I've fallen asleep long before finishing the video. This time, whilst listening to the bit about William the Conqueror, I kept hearing the song from this Python sketch and well, then I was wide awake, lol... ua-cam.com/video/16RZqXXfcjg/v-deo.html
So… The current king of England (Charles) isn’t blood related to the first king of England? That’s an interesting fact and kind of ruins the whole ‘royalty’ storyline for me. Also, nicely made video! I enjoyed watching/listening to these historical stories of British royalty.
@@samwell2386 Care to explain? During this video the thrown has been taken over a number of times by people whom weren’t related to the then current king at all. Perhaps I’m missing an important details, so please let me know
@@pepijn1539 when no immediate heir was available they would choose a distant relative to succeed the throne (though this was not the case with William).
