I’m not on DCS yet. But I’ve been watching Grim Reaper’s for quite a while and commenting. And I’ve been watching SATAL matches and was so proud to see how well you guys did. I feel like I’m part of the squadron at least sitting in the cheering section. Keep up the good work and one day I hope to try out for the team.
Love to hear what the team have to say about the new kit after muscle memory for the new kit has fully developed. Congratulation Grim Reapers for the win in the computation 👏👏👏👏👍
Should I buy this to replace my regular F16 stick? I would like to upgrade sooner than later if I have to retrain my muscle memory. Are the grim reapers going to use this exclusively in their F16 kit or will some members be reverting back to the regular stick?
Jay, what do use as an F-16 stick and stick-base now? This hobby can get pretty pricey if you let it. In a perfect hobby-world, you could use the F-16EX stick, MFSSB base. F-16/Orion2 throttle when flying the F-16 or any single engine fighter. You could also have a second Orion2 stick base using the cams/springs for any aircraft or use the dampers for any rotorcraft.
@@wildbillkelso2083 That's what I was thinking. I do have the original F16EX stick with the orion2 F16 throttle. If I am going to try the MFSSB I would like to do it sooner rather than later. I would keep the regular stick and set it up as a center stick for the F18 if I ever decide to try that. All this being said is the MFSSB worth switching to? I really like the idea of realism but if it isn't any good I would stick with what I have. Thanks for the response.
Hi team! Great video interesting! "Orion2 HOTAS F-16 Viper(MFSSB)" So it comes with Orion2 Joystick Base, Orion2 Throttle Base, F-16EX Viper Metal Throttle Handle, Orion2 MFSSB Kits, F-16EX Viper Metal Joystick Grip. In this video they are only talking about the F-16EX Viper Metal Joystick Grip with the Orion2 MFSSB Kits pre-installed. Is that correct?
Yknow, I should have figured that there’s competitive leagues in this game, and it makes me want to get into this game even more. But I know that the cost and realism makes it too difficult for me to do it right now, which is really unfortunate.
@@Gearshoot Actually yes, on god. Any HOTAS should get you well and truly into the game. Modern jet combat is more about weapons deployment and general tactics than the DEAD-ON precision of higher quality products. To put things in perspective, the WinWing, Virpil and VKB sticks are nice, I have a VKB Gunfighter with TM Cougar grip and separate TM HOTAS throttle myself. But honestly, I would have gotten away with T16000M for the same exact purpose. Mind you, a complete WinWing HOTAS is right up under 600 bucks, and it's a boutique/bourgoise product, the T16000, made for the masses, is 250? Not that much more to be honest. As with any hobby, if you wanna get it you really need to want it.
I'd love to see some more videos on the competitive team and what it takes for skill and training to operate at that level in SATAL. Why they choose the F-16, etc. Fascinated by it all as an F-16 newb.
Great video. I prefer a sidestick and have been waiting to hear some real world reviews on this base. Id also like to hear thoughts on using it with other aircraft like the f14, A10 etc, stuff that is wildly different than the f16.
Just got mine and there was a firmware update from 1.03 to 1.04. I updated it as stated with only it being plugged in. It now shows 1.04 but after several reboots, every time I start simapp pro it still tells me there's a firmware update available but it, the orion 2 base and the stick grip is all up to date. Anyone else have this issue? Works fine, just trying to figure out why it thinks there's still a firmware update available when there's obviously not.
Getting to a level your confident against AI, a couple of months. Learning a full fidelity model, it's taken me a year to acquire the knowledge and skill to fly true multi-role missions. Bare in mind, you can adjust how realistic it is, so you can dial down the realism to get comfortable, then start adding more and more to your missions.
I bought one and was completely disappointed. The quality control was poor. I couldn't program the pull weight down from the default setting. So, I removed the circuit boards and installed the mechanical cams. Note that with the mechanical cams the joystick feedback is excellent.
Is this for realism or does it actually help? Then when you fly in another AC such as FA-18, would you remove them for the realism or is it a better stick so you would still use it?
There’s nothing wrong with using it to fly any aircraft, having the luxury of both makes me switch mainly for the different button and hat assignments.
Was in shock for a moment, saw MFSSB and didn't immediately connect the dots, thinking there was finally a new FFB stick on the market because the famous moneygrabbing patent ran out a long time ago, astonishing nobody made an affordable FFB stick yet. Friend of mine has the MFSSB and apparently it's pretty good but weird to fly with, especially rolling to the right because you're using the inside of your elbow, sinews rather than muscles, to apply pressure. I think I'll pass on this stick.
Winwing need to fix their website, I can’t remove the initial covid message on a phone, and also drop the ‘sale price’ nonsense. They also need to be more open about expected shipping costs.
I wish they had a USA and UK shop for orders , maybe in the future. I would love to review the products they offer.

+GrimReapersAtomic *The WinWinG (CHN) MFSSB should be suitable for the F-22 and F-35 as well as the F-16; only things missing are the grips.*

I expect you can get used to in most any airframe except helicopters. A spring/cam or damper base is really required rotorcraft.

how long does it take to master one of those planes, how many years? (in DCS World)

Back in the 90s I loved the Gravis Ultrasound Analog joysticks - super tight minimal wrist action.
Sweet
Is the MFSSB only for the F-16 with center mounted stick or is it also good to use when flying the F-18C with a side mounted stick?
Interesting.
was anyone in the group previously using the Realsim FSSB? Curious how it compares to that
None of them were using it. Can't help you on that one.
Hey, I would like to know if with normal gear, so not mfssb, you use extensions for your joysticks

Can you guys share your stick setting on what force you use or curves you have programed?

Would love to upgrade to 1 of winwings hotas kits but the lack of local distributors pretty much rules them out as an option.
Shame really
I commented on 1 of your videos. It was my mistake thanks, with the control files i had to reverse them.😁
Virpil makes higher quality products for equal price.
They dont have a force sensing stick in their lineup
