So are all of the other sports podcasts on the Internet. Combining analysis with entertainment is what it is all about! Tell us all, do you find statistics and data analytics alone entertaining?
I mean if you think about it, he loves that WV old school stuff. Remember his “like I said, they don’t make em like they used to” comment? He grew up hard just like us. I could see him doing a little Santa clause act at WVU in a time of need.
Nick Saban in the Big 12 would significantly elevate the value of the entire conference. According to Nick Saban, he misses most the opportunity of training and mentoring athletes who are not just tied up in their paychecks in the NIL. I personally think Baylor, TCU, or BYU are more likely than West Virginia because of their religious affiliations. Religious schools have different rules regarding Title IX than state sponsored schools. But, if West Virginia gets Saban, we would all be thrilled for them.
I’m a wvu fan and even I don’t believe that Saban will coach there. There is however a realistic possibility that Saban might take over as the University’s new president as our current one is retiring soon. It would make perfect sense considering how outspoken Saban has been in favor of WVU on gameday.
Saban loves WVU! He always has. He mentions it all the time on College Gameday. He has been quoted over and over again throughouy his career that he is a Mountaineer at heart. He constantly comes to Morgantown for events and banquets. He even did that often when he was Alabama coach. he has tons of friends in the WVU athletic department and in Morgnantown. That all said, It is still probably a real long shot. He wouldn't do it for the money. He would do it, for his love of the school and the state.
Just keep in mind last week on college game day Saban knew we were going to lose that game but went with WVU anyways. His mind is in the right place at the moment.
WVU President Gee is scheduled to retire in June, 2025. Don't be surprised if Saban's childhood friend, Sen. Joe Manchin, is a candidate to replace Gee as WVU President. Manchin's term expires in January 2025. A number of former Senators have moved on to become University Presidents.
All West Virginia wants is to be in the top 25 and compete for a big 12 championship once in a while and make the playoffs once every 3 to 5 years. No one would expect him to do it overnight, so he would have 3 years probably to build that team so expectations would be really low compared to Alabama Job. I think Neal Brown makes 4 million a year after taking a pay cut, Nick Saban made 10 at Alabama and I think Kirby Smart of Georgia is the highest paid at 13. West Virginia technically could pay a lot more to Nick Saban because he would bring NFL prospects pack the stadium and merchandise would sell like crazy so he would basically pay for himself. Boosters could make up the difference if needed. WVU has a huge fan base but a lot of people sleeping on the team even though TV ratings are still good. They just tired of not winning and not been ranked. Even if we pay him 15 million a year I think he would make it back. He's probably worth that especially in West Virginia. Nick Saban is like the god of football in West Virginia.
He may or may not be that much of a benefactor to come back and coach himself, but you can believe one thing he will have a huge, huge say in who the next coach is. And he will do everything in his power to make make sure that dude is successful.
Advisor ....maybe, but coaching at his age with the crazy NIL now days, I doubt it seriously. I've lived in WV all my life and would even love it, if he would even be an advisor and help WV build the staff that knows how to prepare a team and get the best out of the roster. Man, this would be amazing! WVU is everything to this state, as we don't have a pro team. The passion here is not like many places, just because of this! Let's Goooooooo Mountaineers!!!
If he won a championship at wvu, that would guarantee his GOAT status as head coach. Hands down. But only if he does it at wvu. Otherwise he is just another geat coach on the Pantheon of greats.
Correct but he is not coming back at WVU. Great if he would and he would make them a contender in the B12 but no way he wins a National Championship at WVU. No interest from the Power that be in WV in any kind of Natty Championship.
Only because of the new playoff structure is why I would think there is any chance of this happening. The competitor in him tempted to take a lower level program to the playoff and pull off insane upsets. Not likely but….
Drake. I have never wanted you to be as right as I do right now. I imagine Vilonia is much like W.Va. and its very difficult to explain to others, but as Bob Huggins said, “When West Virginia calls, you pick up the phone.”
HMmm yeah, I don't think so...One Main Reason Saban left coaching was because of NIL/Portal. It would be interesting but I Don't think he needs the Headache when we can sit back and make Commercials and still be near the game as a College Football Analyst. At 72 doesn't make much sense. He is a Legend, He's done the Work.
He's not coming to WVU, he's merely advising. He already stated in a senate hearing of all things, that he has no desire to coach ever again, because everything he loved about coaching football is dead as of the NIL and portal era. It's not happening, he's never coming back, accept it people.
Oh yeah. Saban coming back to be the head coach and is bringing Bill Belichick to be DC. Andy Reid has agreed to be the OC, but only if they 3 peat this year. WVU will be back baby!!!
You guys are being kind of rough on Drake lol I think this segmant is at least coming from a good place. Though more of a pipe dream, it's still a nice anecdotal take on Saban's ties to WVU. I mean, come on guys! it's 2024! BYU is 7-0... Anything is possible! 😂😂😂 #GoCougs
If we wanted 6-6 we could keep Neal brown. Wvu needs to win more games. I love saban but I don’t think he’s coming here. I do think him and pat will be able to get a good coach here
McAfee is gonna be coach, Saban is just an advisor. Jimbo is gonna be the OC and DC just to be a scapegoat and punching bag when it goes wrong. Pat white will be QB coach and Owen Smidt will be the running back coach and Randy Moss will be the recievers coach working online and frim home.
Come on Drake! You are better than this! You don't need to click bait to get your daily 30 minutes of mandatory content. I am from Fairmont, WV and I could only hope for this but it won't happen.
When you don't name your "sources", I assume grandma is telling you this. "OH sonny, my hair salon ladies are just fawning over that Saban feller. We love how he's from our small town. This is why I'll never be a journalist. Always need some nonsense to make up and cry about. They don't get how ridiculous their stories are.
Dude, I'm not even going to watch this because it's nonsense. Nick Saban retired because he does not want to coach in the NIL era. The dude is going to be 73 in a week. He loves West Virginia and will help in every other way he can to make sure West Virginia gets the right coach when they hire one, but you might as well claim I'm going to be the next coach at WVU. It just ain't gonna happen.
Saban was an assistant coach at WVU in the 70s, I don't know why everyone thinks it's insane. Just please keep him away from the Dolphins!!! (Actually, on second thought, does it even matter at this point?)
I am commenting #BringBackDislikes on every unique UA-cam video I watch for the rest of 2024, regardless of if I actually dislike the video or not. This is video 7175.
Saban feels that he no longer fits in with modern football, NIL doesn’t fit his way of coaching, he wants to develop players and that’s not the way college football works anymore.
Tell that to Matt Campbell. He builds loyalty, and his players know he won't go shop someone from the portal to bench them if they stay loyal to him. There is a reason why Iowa State retains so many guys even when they get big $$$ offers from teams wanting to poach them.
@@SvdSinnerexactly Matt Campbell builds players and builds a tight-nit winning culture. Alabama had its way they were paying players illegally now there is NIL . Different teams can win now. Vanderbilt is a great example
@@jawhitten That was then, this is now. Saban is a legend in Alabama. Why move? If he wanted to stick with football, he would have just stayed at Bama.

Can u please stop with this clickbait, this is one of the worst cases this channel has ever done. There's literally no reason at his age & with all he accomplished & all the money he has already made why Saban would come out of retirement to coach WVU. let's not forget he already turned down the Big 12 back when he had the chance to coach TEXAS, no reason why would come out of a retirement that he seems to be enjoying to coach a team that he is clearly out of their league to hire.
I don't think it happens, either, but don't underestimate what WVU football means to West Virginians. Nick is a West Virginian through and through so this might actually be something he considers.
Not a chance in hell he goes back to coaching. If he did it would be back at Bama. His methodology of coaching, building a team with a philosophy is a thing of the past. Transfer Portal and uncontrollable NIL has seen to that! Will Neal Brown be fired yes. Who will be the new Head Coach? My money is on Jimbo Fisher. Another West Virginia native son who has already said he wants back in coaching. Nick is living his best life now! ESPN Game Day, endorsements, and car dealerships. That doesn't mean they didn't talk about the program but people are putting way too much into this you guys are crazy with would anybody be happy to have statement well sure but remember that guy that coached all those national championship teams at Nebraska and then ended up as the coach of the Ohio Bobcats so what people are doing here is there basically saying Saban would be a little like frank solich. I think he had some success at Ohio but that was a mac program folks let's be real here thankfully your program was only 9 minutes and I realized how quick baked this was so I could stop watching
