Skysurfer X9 3ch sloping

- Removed the aileron servos and increased the rudder throws to make this a pure 3 channel motor glider. 600g flying weight with 1300 3S (could go lighter with a smaller battery) Delightful smooth sloper attracted the attention of Corellas and screeching Sulphur Crested Cockatoos.

very beautiful , the birds following the plane , a very beautiful sight ,thank you very much.
Yes it was a lovely slope session
Great job getting the flock chiros and them following the plane. Cool stuff
great plane !
Beautiful palm.
Lovely.
awesome flight! the hands off was fabulous
You hear the joy in your voice👍
Can't contain myself
Sweet
Nice one Andrew best one I have seen for this model. Like the birds in the video. Thanks
Thanks David.
Wow, that was special, with the birds checking out the new kid on the block, the effortless flying, the view, the shots, an exceptional plane - just a perfect day and probably the best site I've seen you fly at. It must be far away or surely you'd be there more often. Think I'll watch it again.
Very close actually, 10min walk from my house. It requires a NE wind which is less common.
Great Video Andrew.
Thanks Jim, it's such a smooth flier.
Uao.. beautiful place.. and nice slope mode with this plane Andrew👍
Yeah it works so well for this
Hi Andrew,
I appreciate all the sloping videos. Think I mentioned earlier that I care for my elderly father, with much help from my youngest sister, and it helps me relax imagining I'm at the controls of your transmitter. :-)
It is the most peaceful pastime.
What a floater, great flight.
Seems like that a little under camber helped.
Cheers
Yes, makes it a real glider
Funny history: My second RC plane was a CloudsFly (one of the many EZStar clones like this wich top pusher and curved wingtips). I fly in mode2 (ailerons on right stick) and i had a friend in the slope who flies mode4 (ailerons on left).
Sinze he only flies pure slopers those days with no wind he couldnt fly.. so i often let him fly my CloudsFly so he could fly some.. It took him nearly 2 years to realize i flew in mode2 .. he was flying the CloudsFly using rudder only for steer and he tought he was using ailerons all along and that i used mode4 too.
Ha, great story. That is funny
Nice flying and smooth camera shots Andrew . Not to mention all the editing 👍.
It was that kind of day, thanks
Nice flying buddy. Great when the birds fly in formation with ya 😊✈️👍
Yes it's a thrill
Wow how stable was that flight. This has got to be the ultimate newbe sloper/flyer.. I'm glad you posted this Andrew. I will be referring this video to people I know who are keen to try this hobby. This is a great place to start. Cheers Mate.
Best plane for the job.
Great video, love it when it's that calm
Thanks Ash, you have done some excellent and similar Radian video
Andrew,
You make it all look so EASY. I was eying a Bixler (am a newbie) but now I think I might go with this unit. Love the idea of sloping, not so much flying (ex sailor). Now to see if I can bind my FLysky to this when I order one.
As a fellow ex sailor I think your feel for the wind will give you an advantage with slope soaring. You will love it.
You could glide for a long time , that was a beautiful video the birds were great to must b ea dam to hold all that water in to make that lake.
Thanks JR, cant dam the ocean
@@AndrewNewton Oh I thought it was like the lake in Smoky mountains they have a dam to keep water in that created a lake
Thanks Andrew , I really like this plane . It glides really well with elevator and rudder control only.
Wooo! It actually doesn't need any extra wing span!! Heh, maybe ditch the motor and esc too? Then you could use a tiny 2 cell RX battery and it'll be 500g all up!
That was great....loved the hands off flying.
Nearly forgot to hook the tail up after the paint job! Now that would be a vid I could enjoy. #goodcatch #couldhavebeenexciting
Would have been a disaster, it's so stable it would have headed off to Pt Henry. Imagine what would happen if it was 40W!
Gorgeous flight Andrew :-)
Fantastic video Andrew thank you again
Andrew, the birds were asking the Sky Surfer for flight documents....
Haha, I do have a permit
Andrew, really nice and relaxing slope soaring. Like the laid back soundtrack to match! Different location this time?
Yes this is a lot closer to home
What a wonderful plane and great footage Andrew
Lovely job Andrew, just floats along in the marginal conditions....Liked the rudder mod too....
Way too cool. Great fun!
Just a great Glider Andrew... thanks for the flight & info
My pleasure, perfect for our area
Waaaw fly like a fantôme ,☺️ thank you
Sweet, sweet, sweet.
beautiful......
Loved the introduction, increased the rudder throws, might help if we remember to connect it back up again. I though the noise those Corellas were making was the new rudder throws creaking :-)
Nearly a disaster! The Corellas are not too bad, it's the Cockatoos that make the ear piercing screetch
Peaceful
Nice MOD! How stable is that! Looked like it was painted on the sky when you were holding up your transmitter with no input ;-) Happy Sloping!
Thanks man, it was a delightful session.
Man... brilliant. Not your usual place?
Thanks, this is my NE wind site
Very relaxing :-)
You know you are really flying like a bird when the birds agree with you :)
All the curviness makes it look like a big gull maybe
Hello Andrew, I have recently got back into fixed wing flying ( been into freestyle quads of late). I really love your diverse flying sites, are they all close to you or do you spend a little drive time for each. I also live in a very diverse landscape here in Northern California. Mountains, plains and ocean all relatively close by. Love your content.
Sounds like a great part of the world.
Nice one Andrew!!! I still think you have a lovely playground!! Nice shots of the formation flying. Just be thankful you don't have our Keas. Our mountain parrot would have landed on the X9 and deconstructed it for nesting material.
Ha, yes keep them in NZ
Great flight. Where is this beautiful place?
Eastern Park Geelong
Very nice, could you please slope the Dynham Spitfire? That would be awesome!
I did that a few years ago, no video unfortunately. It was a better sloper than the Dynam Corsair
Cool, bummer there's no vid. Thinking of getting the Spit or Bf 109 just to slope. Cheers
Nice glider Andrew , what time of the day is that mate ? Cheers
8.30 to 9.30 in the morning
Thx for your videos Andrew. Highly appreciated. Did you ever flew the X8, if so any thoughts about the changes of the X9 vs X8?
Review video covers that. I dont think the X8 and X9 are related at all.
Eu também queria que a E-flite ainda vendesse esse incrível pássaro aero =Eu também queria que a E-flite ainda vendesse esse incrível pássaro aerodinâmico
WoW..that plane is great !!! How tough is the foam on the fuselage (Nose) ? Nice job as always.. !!!
Not as tough as the Bixlers maybe, but fine for a lighter overall weight.
Bravo Mate. Bravo
Im first !!!!!
Have to get up early to beat Willie!
