It's kinda nostalgic to see William and Deban together on the same video. We used to enjoy more of this duo. No it's sad that Deban is not involved that much any more. 😢
I live in basel, switzerland so i hope we will be hosting it here next year because switzerland has four national language (German, French, Italian and Romansch). Switzerland already hosted Lugano an italian speaking canton and Lausanne a french speaking canton so it is time for german speaking canton to host which is basel. Make sense i think but this is just my own opinion.
Cmmmoooonnnn Geneva - If only because my sister in law lives in Geneva 🤣 but also…. If the EBU starts messing with the competition, we can just go down to the headquarters and complain 💅🏻🤣
I stayed in Copenhagen and traveled to Malmo and it was not a problem at all, so I don’t think people traveling will be an issue. I also spent the majority of the rest of that vacation exploring Denmark, though.
Nowhere in Switzerland is cheap (at least compared to neighbouring countries). So they should just take cost out of the equation. Geneva has excellent international air and train connections. Basel is easily accessible by car from Germany and France
I find Geneva more appealing. It feels more modern and vibrant than Basel, with a larger venue, better airport, and more recognition as a city. Plus, they offer more financial support. Geneva just seems like a more iconic choice for an event like this, making it a special opportunity. However, I have a feeling Basel will be chosen instead...
Celine Dion would be the most incredible and iconic moment SRG SSR can get her!!! I hope her on Eurovision Stage and I trust on Eurovision Comitte for 2025🎼🎤🇨🇭
I think Geneva and Basel are both good options and I appreciate your presentation of both cites. However, I have no make a few corrections for what you said about Basel. The city is not bilingual, but it’s bordering France and also the French speaking Swiss canton of Jura is not far away. So if you hear quite a lot of French in Basel, it’s because many people from the Alsace region in France work in Basel as well as some from the canton of Jura. And of course you can reach Basel by train from many cities in Switzerland, Germany and France, but the city also has an international airport called EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, which actually lies close to the city center but on French territory. And for accommodation it’s not the same situation as in Malmö, where some people stayed in Copenhagen. Basel actually has suburbs in France and Germany, so the city does not really end at the country borders. You can stay in a hotel or private place in nearby Germany or France and can easily reach the center of Basel by public transportation, which connects the entire region very well. I also think that Basel shows more creativity when it comes to restaurants, bars, clubs and outdoor locations than Geneva, which tends to be a bit posh, and last but not least, Basel offers a lot of culture, both established and avant-garde.
Very correct! And the distance from e.g. Lörrach in Germany or St.Louis in France is nothing, it's like 10-15' with public transport (trains, buses). There's also Weil am Rhein and you can go there by a Basel tram (No.8)!
I‘m hoping for Basel. 🤞🏻 Geneva‘s airport might be more frequented but that doesn‘t mean that there are no planes landing in Basel. And it‘s right on the border to Germany and France, not just the closer cities in those countries are well connected by train also many long distance trains to for example Paris and Frankfurt drive through Basel. If Basel outdid Zurich, then their package must be really something. From a Swiss point of view Basel it’s easier to reach for the majority of the Swiss people. Geneva would be the longest possible way for many of us. Also the Italian speaking part had the very first ESC, the French part had one, it‘s only fair to give the third to the German part. Regarding prices your wallet will bleed no matter the city but less so in Basel than in Geneva or Zurich.
I would be happy to see Basel, I don’t think it gets a lot of international events, and it would be nice to but it in the spotlight. Not unhappy with Geneva, but can’t find a good picture of their arena, it doesn’t look wide or tall enough to me. Does it have enough seats? BTW, I think Jump by the Pointer Sisters was an official song of LA 1984
Geneva is more international, more stylish, but there will be less quirkiness. Basel will be smaller, more homespun and commuting from the neighbouring will be easier. than in Malmö. You been just very the tram. Problem is Swiss cities shut down early. I reckon Basel will entrance Eurovision more. They're less snobby. They're a carnival town, after all
Ok one thing. You have cheep hotels neer to basel and geneve in switzerland. Explain option bern, solothurn, freibourg, yverdon, biel and from this citys have you a direkt train to basel or Geneva all 30min. But one think i can say switzerland will make a cool program in the host city for the fans 😉
William you gotta try Läderach chocolate once you’re in Switzerland! Freshly made they break it piece by piece for you and put it in a bag 😂 Also as someone living in Switzerland I want Basel to win simply because Geneva is way too remote. It‘s basically in France whereas Basel is better accessible not only through Europe but also through Switzerland.
Can I just say that I have really missed the wiwijury videos over the last two years. The channel has gone downhill since the old gang from previous years have left. Pádraig and Chris we miss you.

Basel for the Win! ❤ luv ur videos btw…
Thank you so much! We can’t wait to see which city wins ☺️
Pls Basel! 🙏🥰
Switzerland has given us some beautiful choices here 🤩
Crimes of '24 whennn😭❤
The Eurovision train pass (I think it was about £50 for the week) was really helpful for travel between Copenhagen and Malmo!
Did someone ask Netta yet? In that case we know ;P
I think she would have said Bern...
I am so ready for both, Basel or Geneva, tbh 😍

Are you competing the in ORF internal selection for 2025? 🇦🇹

And by train, you don't need a car.

Come back Deban!
I‘m hoping for Basel. 🤞🏻

Also with all the drama and protests this year I don‘t think it would be a smart idea for the EBU to invite people to their „front yard“.
lol love it when you guys both belt out a Gloria Estefan number together 😂
9:45: William and Debhan are rehearsing for the opening number of the final in 2025.

"Basel, I don’t think it gets a lot of international events" - Ever heard of Art Basel?
@@markus_ch I’m no expert! Perhaps it does!
Basel is not partly french at all...

I think Geneva would be the better choice but if Geneva is selected that’s literally suicidal for the EBU
Because the headquarter is there? I was thinking the same after this year....
Lol.... some shade being thrown at poor Madonna 😂😂😂
Is there any possibility that st Jacob park (the football stadium) will be the main venue?
No, because it doesn't have roof
@@GospodinNelson but on wikipedia it says that maybe if they build a temporary roof?
Switzerland is hosting the Eurovision 2025 and not 2024😂

Does it really matter. The elephant will still be stinking the contest out. No not them....I mean the EBU.
Quelles folles 😤
Think all countries should boycot the event and demand changes.
Deban has just been named the Croatian HoD. 🇭🇷❤️🤍💙
