      שחולדאי יתעשת על עצמו כבר ויבנה אולם ענק להופעות שלא נזיע למוות בהופעות קיץ בירקון, ושנוכל להביא אומנים גם בחורף. אה כן, ושנוכל לארח בו את האירוויזיון

    • @LiavVansower
      @LiavVansower 6 років тому

      למה אין עיר יותר מתאימה בעיניך מאשר תל אביב? כי חיפה לא מספקת את מה שתל אביב מספקת? אני ממש חולק עליך בעניין הזה. הכי קל לומר שתל אביב היא האופציה המושלמת אבל באמת חיפה ואילת צריכות את האירוח הזה גם כלכליתיותר מירושלים ותל אביב וגם כי יש להם הרבה יותר מה להציע לא פחות מתל אביב וירושלים.

    • @jeniena4659
      @jeniena4659 6 років тому +1

      בלי להכניס פוליטיקה לדעתי הערים הכי מתאימות הם ירושלים או תל אביב. הייתי מעדיפה אפילו יותר את תל אביב אבל נראה לי שיש בעיה בגלל שהאיצטדיון בשיפוצים והם צפויים להסתיים בסוף השנה מה שלא ישאיר מספיק זמן לשיפוצים לגג.
      אילת עיר נחמדה אבל בעיקר לבטן גב וגם אין שם אולם מתאים.
      בחיפה יש איצטדיון הכי מתאים אבל לדעתי אין יותר מידי מה לעשות בחיפה וגם אין מספיק מקומות אירוח ומלונות שם לפי תקנון האיביו.
      בקיצור בסוף תשאר שוב ירושלים כאופציה היחידה ולצערי יהיה באלגן.
      חבל באמת שהם מכניסים לזה פוליטיקה כי באמת ירושלים כרגע הכי מתאימה לאירוח.
      אני מקווה שאיכשהו הם כן ימצאו פתרון לאירוח בתל אביב ובסוף זה יוכל להיות בתל אביב, העיקר שלא יהיה בחיפה או באילת.

      Haifa is an amazing city! One of my favorite. The fact that it isn't well known among tourists is another reason to host since it kept its authenticity. Besides, the views to the sea are absolutely astonishing, The Bai Gardens are a marvel and the real jewel is the multicultural mosaic of Israel, where Muslims , Christians and Jews live side by side with dignity. Besides that, Haifa's education facility - the Technion - is one of the great sources of the Israeli hightech industry, far beyond Tel Aviv faculties. Haifa was in the vision of Benjamin Zeev Herzel , the Visionary of Israel who marked the city as a secular model for-coexisting.
      Haifa was the leading city in Israel right mainly thanks to its port , railways and British infrastructure. Later on main Israeli the port was moved to Ashdod and Tel Aviv also started to become the economic and cultural center, leaving Haifa behind. Yet, as for today it's still the 3rd city in population in Israel.
      The iconic Bahá'í Gardens are well known in Haifa, serving as the center of the Bahá'í culture.
      Did you know that Haifa is THE onlyi city in Israel who actually have a (single line but yet...) a metro? :)

      I live in Haifa. It is a mixed Arab-Jew city so it definitely celebrates diversity. It is also very beautiful, and has a vibrant nightlife. But it is small and probably doesn't have enough hotel rooms... also the airport only receives small flights from Greece, Cyprus and Turkey. Overall, Tel Aviv is a safer choice, but do visit Haifa on your Eurovision holiday!

    • @eva_fr
      @eva_fr 6 років тому +3

      Eilat - no way. Haifa, nice town, on a hill, nice view to the sea, but small and kind of boring, not much to see and do. Still it has the facilities, which Tel Aviv does not, and easy to get to and from Tel Aviv. Jerusalem: too strong religious presence and pressure, much more than 20 years ago, secular people leaving it because of it. I too think, the place doesn't resonate with the Eurovision.

      Eilat has an international airport that has flight to and from quite a few countries in europe. the red sea is stunning. it has tons of hotels but not so much nightlife\good restaurant\bars. it seems delusional that it will host since they have no arena there... not even for 2000 people... don't know how do they even suggest this city.
      Haifa is better, has the best stadium is israel to date. kinda close to Tel aviv by train which is great. can't host so many tourist so lots of them will need to sleep in tel aviv or something.
      still TLV seems like the best choice if they find some solution for the hosting arena.

    To be honest, Israel is so full of history and moving sites that it was very hard to choose only one city! but I think JERUSALEM is the best to host. leave politics outside! a trip to Israel cannot be complete without a thorough exploration of Jerusalem!

    Tel Aviv is the best option! This is the ‘‘Non-Stop City’. The magic doesn’t end when the sun goes down; the action just moves from the beaches to the bars and clubs of its active nightlife scene. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it in there. It's simply the best party option.

      it is but they have no appropriate place to host the event there. the Blumfield stadium will not be ready in 11 months, no way. in israel a project like this takes much more time. and the rest of the places are too small. maybe they'll decide to host the turist+euroclub in TLV and make the events at a stadium in kinda near-by city? idk

    Jerusalem is a big city, and not all areas are old and religious. The arenas are located in the modern part, quite far from the Orhodox neigbourhoods. Regularly football matches are played here on Shabbath, not far away there are cinemas, restaurants, clubs etc open, so I think perhaps they could get to some understanding about this issue too.

    Israeli here: I'm think Jerusalem has the most reasonable venue to host the show - Pais Arena, all other venues must go under some renovations such building a roof. So considering the venues (and not the cities) Pais Arena is the most suitable, although Tel Aviv will be great too but where in Tel Aviv? there is no venue. That's a big problem. Look Israel is very small, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are only 30 minutes drive away.

    I have to admit that in the beginning I wanted Jerusalem to host the city, but after seeing the potential problems with politicians interfering the event I think it should done anywhere but not in Jerusalem. The true story behind these 4 options: Eilat is on the list just to have 4 cities in the race, it will not host. Israel will never build an arena when they already have one in another city. It's an incredible place though, and I suggest visiting it while in Israel. Haifa is an interesting proposition, but- it doesn't have enough hotel rooms, and the city itself is very boring. There's really nothing to do there, honestly. There's a reason why it's not a popular destination for tourists. Also, every venue that needs the building of a new roof will take 6-7 months of constructions, and with Israeli biocracy, it means - 2 years. Tel Aviv is the BEST city for Eurovision, but, and it's a huge but, it does not have a venue. Everything that's available is small (~6-8K) and Blumfield is not an option (re-construction ends in 2019, building a roof not in plans, very OLD stadium that is not designed for concerts). And then, we end up with Jerusalem. The only city with an arena that fits the needs (Pais). Tedi is not an option, its a very old arena and a roof will not be built for it. Pais will not be huge but will be able to get ~15K people in there. Also, can I also mention Pais arena is located in a very safe place- it's pretty much outside of all the problematic areas of Jerusalem, so safety won't be an issue. Anyway, my educated guess is Jerusalem 2019.

  • @jeniena4659

    Haifa - There is a suitable stadium. There are not enough hotels and places to stay. There is not much to do there.
    Eilat - the resort city. Full of tourists and Israelis vacationing in this city. There are enough hotels but a bit expensive. A stunning city on vacation. There is no stadium or Arena for what i know.
    Tel Aviv - a vibrant city. Lots of parties and places of entertainment. Lots of hotels, hostels and places to stay. The stadium is under renovation and the Arena is not big enough, hoping they will complete the renovations in time.
    Jerusalem - the holy city and a very touristy city and very historic for all religions. A lot of history and special places. There is a stadium and there is Arena. Lots of hotels, hostels and places to stay.

      And to be more specific,
      Haifa is 55 min by train from Tlv.
      1h.05 from Ben Gurion Airport.
      Ger' is 30 min away from tlv by car
      Eilat, a bit more far, 4-5 from tlv by car.
      Everything is so close here ☺️

    I'm from Israel so let me help you, guys. "Next time in Jerusalem" is not a popular phrase in Israel, although we used to say "Next year in the built Jerusalem" (Ba-Shana Ha-BaHa Be-Yerushalaim Ha-B'nooya"), but in a religious context.

    I’d say Tel Aviv due to the big pre Eurovision party in 🇮🇱 and is the main airport arrival even for Jerusalem. Although that football stadium in Haifa looks amazing in terms of capacity but the other footie stadiums look great I’m just saying that being a football follower.

      realmenchangediapers I was too young to remember 99. I believe it would stir up too much unwanted drama in the area in today's day and age and cause the competition to be extremely politicised as we've already seen with some of the countries possibly boycotting. It will be politicised anyway just because it's in Israel, so why go for the extra provocation. It's just unnecessary when Tel Aviv of Haifa are a much more neutral option. Love your username btw

    • @realmenchangediapers
      @realmenchangediapers 6 років тому

      tiredofthis I just dont see why it would be different from 1999 or 1979. 1979 was only 12 years after the 6-day war when east Jerusalem was taken/occupied/liberated (whatever you prefer).
      Eurovision has always been political. Austria boycotted in 1969 when it was held in the dictatorship of Spain. Greece withdrew when Turkey joined in the 70s after the Cyprus wars. Morocco sent a song to eurovision as a one-time thing in 1980 just because Israel didn't participate. Ukraine-Russia. Azebadjan-Armenia. The list goes on. I dont think putting it in Jerusalem would add anything to the politization. If anything, it will give people a chance to see a side of Jerusalem they didnt know about. I would advise the israeli government though to make it possible for the visiting delegations to meet with Palestinian leaders while in Jerusalem, to calm down the anti-israeli fans at home. Just like Loreen met with members of the opposition party in Baku in 2012.

    My vote is for Haifa or Tel Aviv. I agree that it should be about the MUSIC, not politics or religion. And you are correct about the phrase "Next year in Jerusalem" - it's what we say at Passover time. It's a metaphor for returning to the "homeland" for us Jews who are scattered around the world. I took what Netta said as a metaphor for the contest being in Israel, not necessarily as a specific statement about the show being in Jerusalem.

    You guys kept saying the stadium will need a roof, as if you could just order one from Amazon! Remember not only does that roof have to be weather proof it has to be light proof as well. Rehearsals take place during the day. If it's not possible to block out day light all rehearsals will have to take place overnight, including the weeks of technical rehearsals that take place with no artists or with stand ins. would that be even possible.
    If anyone was going to build a roof on a football ground they should have started by now. It took a year to build the roof on centre court at Wimbledon at it's not light proof. The design and testing process had all taken place in advance of the start of the build.
    A cost effective roof of that size tends to only be able to support it's own weight. In northern climates it has to support whats known as snow weight as well. I doubt that will be an issue in Israel (but you never know if it is to be permanent it can't collapse if there's a freak snow storm).
    The roof of the arena in Lisbon had an additional 220 tonnes of technical equipment hanging from it. A good proportion of that is over the audience making them look pretty on TV. It's possible to ground support it all but it will look very different, more like and outdoor festival.
    The EBU criteria for a host city are: an enclosed stadium with capacity for around 10,000 ticket holders, 3,000 hotel rooms, a nearby Tier 1 or 2 international airport (in 2013 the contest was in Malmö, the airport was Copenhagen) , 24/7 public transport giving access to the arena. They have made exceptions in the past. Latvia 2003, Skonto Olympic Hall, in Riga, capacity 6,500.
    BTW in the last 20 years there have only been 3 contests not in capital cites. Malmö 2013, Düsseldorf, 2011, and Birmingham 1998.

    Eilat is opening a new international airport next year (finally), which will be Israel's 2nd international airport after Ben Gurion. However the idea that they'll be able to construct a stadium in a year seems ridiculous, if you know Eilat and Israel you know that construction projects always go on for many more years than planned, even the new airport has suffered yearly delays, hopefully after so many delays it will finally open in 2019.

    "Next year in Jerusalem" is what we say at the end of every Passover seder - and, I'll admit, I said it frequently in the lead-up to this year's contest. However, I do think while Jerusalem has the best option in terms of venues (Pais Arena is the same kind of arena as the last few contests), Tel Aviv or Haifa would be much smarter choices and far less controversial.

  • @bimbam5769
    @bimbam5769 6 років тому +2

    It will be between Jerusalem and Haifa...For Haifa they need to build a roof on the stadium but then it could fit 30.000 people. The easiest choice would be Pais Arena in Jerusalem.

    Tel Aviv seems like the most obvious choice, and while I would be fine with it, I really would like to see it in Haifa. The circumstances of this hosting feels very similar to that of Malmö and Düsseldorf, both of which were seen as kind of surprise picks, and both of which turnt the party out fiercely. I think Haifa would be able to do the same.
