- Well, the deadline for application has passed, and it seems we have only 31 COUNTRIES set to take part in Eurovision 2025... but is that the whole story? Who could still be involved? Who definitely will be sitting out next year?

Quick update from Ireland, RTÉ have confirmed participation earlier toady, but then deleted the article.
Hahaha... Ah RTÉ. Did it say how they were going to select the song. I checked earlier but must have missed the article.
@Dr.FergalSherlock-ug5ky Michael Kealy (head of Irish delegation) said, the selection process will most likely be on the Late Late show again.
Waste of time and licence payers' money anyway! Stay out of the farce it has become.
@KianLaffordMagic
I thought they would "upgraded" their NF after Bambie Thug giving them their first qualifying and top 10
This is usually where we are at at this time. Sometimes broadcasters never come forward and we only learn about their participation when the full list is released
They’ll all be there - don’t worry.
I’m not worrying too much at this stage. The full list usually comes out later in the year between October and December as some countries don’t usually publicly confirm they will participate until the full list is out.
Later this year as the Netherlands has until late November
I’m very concerned about The Netherlands as while they have been given an extension to make their minds up I’m very worried that they won’t go to Basel which would be a shame and it won’t be Eurovision without them and I would miss them next year even though I’m on holiday in Philly for the week of the contest
I know why there are 31 countries currently confirmed for ESC2025 even after September 15, the due date of application. This is because some countries prefer to publicly announce their participation but others prefer keeping them private for a while.
exactly, i don't get what this is all about. countries like armenia, moldova, etc rarely publicly confirm until the EBU releases the list of participating countries
@@tomscott2006 Maybe they prefer to wait so that they can surprise the fans?
There were some past Eurovision entries being played on the stereo in Wake Up Copenhagen when me and my parents stayed there and Luxembourg currently has a 100% qualification record
Australia will be there, we were late last year too, it’s the 10 year anniversary for Australia next year, they won’t want to miss that
Fingers crossed! 🇦🇺
Public opinion in the Netherlands I think leans towards not participating, so curious what the people in charge will do.
It's why the ebu has given Netherlands until late November to decide
16:43 would be interesting to see someone like Jonna Jinton perform. She is very much the embodiment of Swedish culture.
If there is only 31 countries, should there be 26 in the final? Because if that happens it would mean that in the semis they would only eliminate 3 each round which seems rather silly. Would they lower the number of finalists to something like 22 to make the semi’s important?
I hope to represent San Marino next year 🙏
RTÉ our national broadcaster here in Ireland have been saying that they may not be able to broadcast the Eurovision in the future, but is not for certain yet. This could be why we haven’t decided if we will be in Eurovision or not
I'm Irish. I would be happy if the Netherlands withdrew and then Ireland too.
Didn't help with the whole rte payment scandal
Why would they not be able to broadcast Eurovision in the future? Is there something going on at RTE that may affect their participation?
@@tonyttt31 But why?? What's the point of that?? You obviously hate Eurovision if that's your opinion... 😢
@@Nick-jw6tj The EBU messed up this year but they don't seem to be at all apologetic. They need to know there's consequences if they treat artists as poorly as they did. I don't hate Eurovision.
Song submissions for Melodifestivalen 2025 is closed, 2794 song was sent in, the second biggest amount since 2012. Artists will be revealed during fall.
It's going to be 33-36 counties.
It will actually be at least 37.
The only countries that could withdraw are the Netherlands and Moldova.
but I don't think any will.
Romania, Bulgaria, Monaco and N. Macedonia could also return.
Armenia, Moldova and Australia never confirm their participation before the official reveal of the participating countries. The Netherlands will also 80 % participate since they want it.
Poland, Croatia and Ireland, idk why there's a delay. But they will for sure participate.

He comes for us all... 👀🇸🇲
Serhat always appears when you least expect it
What about Bulgaria?
Also: I don’t think Israel’s participation will be as contentious next year. The attention towards the conflict in the mainstream is significantly down. The major protests have ended. Israel will feel like there’s less to prove after 2024 - after all, EBU supports them.
The only thing I hope is that they don’t just get away with the plain and simple intimidation tactics of their delegation this year, and that in 2025 they don’t resort to it again.
Meanwhile Armenia and Moldova never confirm. They are always just confirmed when the list is announced.
I want us (The Netherlands) not to compete next years... unless we get a pass straight to the finale even then I don;t want it because they did us dirty,,
Ireland is in!
I think the UK should get a great singer and send a love some in French, Italian, Germany and English in honor of Switzerland!
Next video gonna be about balamory
im gonna continue being a loop defender, cause wdym we will rave is much better? same amount of dancebreaks, vocal performance was similiar (i even feel like sarah bonnici did a better job than kaleen). however, i get that we will rave is a much more energetic club experience than loop is. but still
What motivation do nations give for participating/not participating? What is the connection to the incident with Joost Klein or the management of the festival? Did the protests play a role?
lots of them especially eastern european/balkan countries its expensive for them because theres a large entry fee and they also need to organise a internal selection process or a national final which can also take a lot of time and money, this is especially true for moldova, however i doubt they will drop out. there is also political reasons and in this case security reasons (the netherlands).
Ireland has simply not had good results this century except one! Thier music scene just may not be in tune with what Eurovision has progressed to. I would not blame them if they chose to abandon this endevour.
balamory is back
Indeed it is!
@@AdamMartyn will there be or not be a video
Who's the 31st Country?
Armenia has Azerbaijan, that was the reason why they didn't participate in 2021...
ireland?
Honestly quite upsetting that Israel is just being welcomed back after last year's fiasco, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of why Ireland is reluctant. The Israeli broadcaster was quite bigoted towards Bambi at one point.
Israel literally confirming their participation minutes after the final finished really felt like a kick in the stomach.
So, I personally don't really have a problem with Israel participating, I also wouldn't have if Belarus or Russia would still do, since the broadcaster and the representing artists don't have much to do with the political stuff or the wars going on. But I do have a problem with countrys withdrawing because of Israel taking part. I would really hope they would be suspended by the EBU, just to guarant other nationas participation, or even seeing countrys like Tunesia or Lebanon debuting, since they were in charge to somewhere in the past and didn't just because of Israel
@@syndrom4193 Israel's government engaged in an open campaign of buying votes in 2024 explicitly because they view it as political. Sorry, but I simply do not think your position makes any sense to me.
@@syndrom4193 If Israel comes, it must be under the stipulation that any activities resembling "the rumors" of activities carried out by their entourage in 2024 will result in deportation of the entire delegation.
@@syndrom4193 You’ve clearly never watched Channel 1 in Russia… you’d be in for a nasty shock if you think they have nothing to do with the war in Ukraine…
Will we have Kiara representing Germany Austria
