    I am only 21 but I will someday walk the spritual path I made up my mind. I personally feel the need to turn my attention away from the world and towards myself. This human life is a blessing and I don't intend on wasting it again. Om namah Shivaya.

    What a wonderful film. Here is a man who lives the dharma. Not for him the throne to sit upon, and minions attendant upon him, like some lamas, the kind who give the dharma a bad name, but a leaking roof and a humble attitude. He is the real deal. Thanks for posting this so much.

    • @Phjghh
      @Phjghh 4 роки тому +10

      If there is no throne sitter lama, how dharma will be spread? Various dharma practitioners are needed. The present yogi must have got teaching from a throne sitter lama before he started meditating.
      Also, some ppl complaining of large monasteries, If there is no monasteries, how dharma should be preserved? Lamas dont sit on throne during religious to show his highness. It is done because dharma itself is holy and lama himself prostate to the throne before giving teaching.

      Thubten,Charles Rae,the personal journey is also imp. If a throne brings other things,it may not be necessary for all lamas. Thubten some will always go further taking that to a monastery overseeing. But not all would like that. One such Guru said at the end of his living years that his journey diverted to managing the Ashram when it grew in California. He didn’t like the fact that people don’t pick up the cause and responsibility that goes with it. So we all have to think here Why ??

      I watched the whole thing and the way I see it is he's just some filthy old con man who has convinced people he's 'holy' so they will give him free food & lodgings. He doesn't work. He doesn't produce anything of value yet people worship him. It's bizarre. Plus, he abandoned his wife and child.

    It’s like a finger pointing at the moon, if you look at the finger pointing, you will miss all the moon’ s heavenly glory...I loved his Mother’s loving feeling towards him, “ I am old and Now my eyes have seen him again, now I can die without regret”...Trascendental ✨✨🙏🏻

    I've only heard of lamas and ascetic mystics my whole life - it's been a beautiful privilege to listen to one through this film. The absence of pride in this guru tells you all you need to know, that and his absurdist gentle humor. His story and laugh at the end... what can I say? I cried watching him on his "tour", felt as happy to see him as those there and ashamed of my sins. His very presence make better people.
    And it's not only Buddhists who can find faith here - the lama's self abnegation is mirrored in Jesus' suffering and compassion. All true faiths feature this, speak to the heart.
    Thank you.

That he gave all that was given to him to others on the road. that he sat so coolly by the side of the road blessing them. that he showed what piece of red chilly he ate with salt. that he is rich because he had spices and one raincoat. and that smile. what can you say? we have too many things and are still not happy. And how can one walk with so much speed? His Padyatra, a community pilgrimage if you will, reminded me of the Padyatra Gandhiji took or Vinoba took for Bhoodan movement. God bless you guys for sharing this - and REMINDING us again and again (like a whack on the head) of what is important, whether in India or NY or Manhattan. Of what to do with life...

    I had purchased Milarepa's biography and presently reading it.I never knew about lama Gobind until now.Its only a week ago that I started to read Milarepa's biography.And wonder of the wonders,this documentary suddenly popped up in my UA-cam channel.It seems milarepa wanted me and others here to know how he lived dharma through the living presence of this great yogi.
    Thanks for the infinite blessings of Tathagatha and milarepa that I atleast came to know of this true yogi and hope to meet him atleast once in my lifetime.

    Oh! So sweet! This is my India! Nothing better enlightening could have been in this lesson of a Sadhak’s last sentence where he smiled away at his own wisecrack “ When a child was shown the moon in the sky with an extended hand pointing at the Moon far far away in the depth of the cosmos, he doesn’t see the moon but sees the tip of the finger of the hand extending in the direction of the moon!” Ah so sweet indeed his toothless smile! Very successful Documentary. Thanks to its maker.

  • @govindang9303
    @govindang9303 4 роки тому +102

    The story he told at end of video is excellent . India is a land of gurus, all these gurus pointing their finger to same direction but we Indians looking to his hand not the knowledge. In india this great knowledge is still not taught in school. People are going behind western knowledge which is imperfectly synthesised from the scraps of ancient Indian wisdom

    • @meditating010
      @meditating010 4 роки тому +2

      Do not identify with a culture, tradition - they are identities that you have to transcend eventually. Whatever India gives receive it and give it to others who *listen*. If west provides good things for you - practice and apply it, its just false knowledge. Like he said in video, its a cloud, you have to clear the cloud - use your viveka/intellect to cut through all the bull shit but don't hurt others in process.

    • @meditating010
      @meditating010 4 роки тому +2

      And eventually you have even transcend buddhi/viveka/intellect. The urge to debate often comes from Ego and ultimately these are all phantoms. - reading from books is ok, practice is more important.

I don’t worry about shit , I just flush it out, it’s part of the body system, Don’t take it hand and and complain. Shit is shit everybody knows. But don’t say your body is cursed because of shit. Shit is a waste only. Flush it out and enjoy the greatness of india

    In Theravada Buddhism, we have heared about Pachcheka Buddhas, they entered to enlightenment but they can't preach and direct people to the enlightenment. I think lama Govind is such. Pachcheka Buddha realize the enlightenment without the guidance of anybody. A self study about the reality. I bow to this holy being.

      In Tibetan Buddhism, one can never become Pratekaya Buddha. Lama Govinda had guru, He practiced compassion for 15-20 years, now he is leading others to dharma. This is the mark of Buddha.

The phtography is excellent and discourse on dharma is presented in very lucid way.The producer deserves all appreciation from people of Kinnaur for bringing such a decent documentary.
