The fact that this is happening in America is truly frightening.
One of the things i love about Seth is the relationship he has with his writers, and how he doesn't pretend that he comes up with all the material himself. He's not afraid to give credit and drop the names of the other writers. It's a kind of admirable honesty that sets him apart.
It's so rare to see a man in a position of authority who doesn't have a massive ego.
It's such a good sign that his writers/employees have a history of playfully making fun of him, from SNL to this show.
It's like seeing a toddler purposefully antagonize their parent.
You know that toddler isn't being abused because, if so, they'd be too afraid to provoke anger. They know that their parent will stay calm and treat them with kindness.
i hate that they’re trying to prove that my vote was illegal, just because i chose to use a mail in ballot. it’s so infuriating and despicable.
I keep asking why Trump and his goons don't bring lawsuits in the states where mail-out ballots are the norm, such as Colorado and Utah. But nothing. They know there's nothing wrong with mail-in ballots. They just want to raise doubts and chaos where the vote was close and it wasn't in Colorado (strongly for Biden) and Utah (strongly for Trump).

I have to say it: Seth’s sign-off keeps me going every day. I usually catch the night before on UA-cam in the morning, and it makes me feel like I have a grip on the world and that people actually can still care about one another.

I'd read rumors for years, but there it was in the Borat movie--Rudy drinking scotch midday throughout the whole interview with an unvetted eastern european "journalist," who was really a comedienne. Because, rallies didn't go to every state, a vast amount of voters don't know that Biden isn't for completely shutting down the oil business, but rather restricting them to the locals they already have permits for. He isn't pushing fully for the Green New deal, but a gradual decline in our reliance on high pollution energy resources. There is so much people don't know.

@@lenak1438 No, it wasn't wasted. They did find several thousand uncounted votes, and every vote should be counted. Granted, they could have done the same thing by just double-checking instead of doing a full hand-recount/audit, but it did at least make sure that more peoples' votes counted.
And the thing is, they probably would have done the recount without Trump being Trump about it, simply because of the size of the margin of victory. It was discretionary on the part of Georgia's Secretary of State, but it probably would have happened regardless.
Now, listening to Trump whine about it for the last few weeks and other such nonsense? No, that's bad. And dangerous. And destructive to democracy. But the recount itself was reasonable.
AND just tonight, a Federal judge blocked Trump’s attempt to halt Georgia’s certification for tomorrow

Michigan election workers, refused to certify the election when there were signs of massive fraud. They only certified after receiving a swarm of threats against themselves, and their families. They were also promised that an audit would be performed, and then it was refused to them. 1,000's of fraudulent votes per county. And it is not only Republicans who are saying this. It is not only Republicans that are filing fraud charges. A Democrat election worker in GA, who has worked in elections for decades, is claiming that he has seen proof of massive systematic election fraud. Stacks of ballots, in pristine condition, stacked neatly, and 98-100% for Biden. Democrats were implementing massive voter fraud, through multiple methods, in many states.

Seth writer's staff during corona has put out some incredible monologues with really good recurring jokes. I'd like to believe im not the only one thinking they give John Oliver's staff a good run for their money. None of the other late nights have this top of the line sarcastic and kinda sassy-rant type humour. Something that feels more honest than the others. Ive really enjoyed his monologues this year.

No sitting President has ever even tried to pardon themselves before, so it's unclear whether it would be accepted or overturned by the courts (then again, Republicans DID do everything they could to get a 6-3 Conservative supermajority on the SCOTUS). It's also correct that the President's pardon power ONLY applies to federal charges, and not state or local.

The lawsuits aren't about winning the lawsuits. Is about creating "doubt" that seems plausible to some. Enough "doubt" that it wouldn't look bad if, say, votes don't get certified like Wayne County Michigan, do that in enough places, and then is the senate that decides who's president. And it is completely, 100% legal and accepted by the US constitution. That's what Trump is trying to do.
The house decides who is the president in case of a tie. The senate decides the vice president.

They were also promised that an audit would be performed, and then it was refused to them. 1,000's of fraudulent votes per county. And it is not only Republicans who are saying this. It is not only Republicans that are filing fraud charges. A Democrat election worker in GA, who has worked in elections for decades, is claiming that he has seen proof of massive systematic election fraud. Stacks of ballots, in pristine condition, stacked neatly, and 98-100% for Biden. Democrats were implementing massive voter fraud, through multiple methods, in many states.
