Fantastic! Would you be able to post the lengths of the different elements of the puzzle; the base, the towers, the string, the holes, etc. i would like to make one. The video was very well done.
Thanks a plenty! I've been away for a little trip, but just recently got back, so here you go (sorry it's in metric): *Base* - 6 x 12 x 2.3 cm. The holes are have a 0.7 cm diameter in the top half while the bottom half has a 1.0 cm diameter. This allows a knotted rope end to sit in the base. *Ring* - inner diameter of 1.5 cm, outer diameter of 2.8 cm. *Beads* - diameter of 1.7 cm, with a hole large enough for the rope to slide. *Towers* - 1.2 x 2.3 x 6.6 cm, with a 1.1 cm diameter hole. *Rope* - 0.3 cm thick, 99.4 cm sticks out of the base. As for the piece placement, I think you've got it. Let me know how it goes!
Thank you for your dimensions. I have been able to make my own puzzle and by watching your video I have been able to work it. I hope to be able to do it without watching. You are very right about making sure not to twist the cord while doing it.
Just sent you an email. The instructions I received suggested using a toothpick (!?). The two holes in mine are WAY too small. I'm going to modify mine so toothpicks and bandsaws are not required to solve this puzzle. ;) The version I have is hard to solve for all the wrong reasons.
Hi, @grguthrie, you may have misunderstood studioeffect's comment: the official solution is to get a loop through the holes in the base but they suggest using toothpicks as the holes may be a bit tight, which is unfortunate. I've added a link to the solution from studioeffects into the description for more information, cheers!
@@22PUZZLE22 Thanks - yes, I get it - but on mine, the holes are too small - this was he first thing I tried since this is a common technique for these disentanglement puzzles. , Maybe just a cheap version of the puzzle?! Anyway, thanks for the "official" solution, yours is much clearer!!
I'm FAIRLY certain you did not solve this right. the idea of these puzzles is to find a way to manipulate the ropes/rings not disassemble the product, lol.
+Adam Orenstein Technically, I did manipulate the rope. If you are still in any doubt, the official solution for this puzzle as mentioned by does match the one I presented. But, yes, the joining of the two beads was not part of the goal, though I wish It'd be. Regardless, thanks for watching!
Jolas cales Sorry for the extremely late reply! I'm dreadfully sorry if I came across as prideful. The official solve ends at 7:10, and I proceed to take it too far from then on.
Great puzzle and great solution. I have made several of my own wooden puzzles and I will make this one as well. Thank you!

Yes, same - the holes are too small for your solution.
