The Infantry Corps! Every day in the Corps is a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE THE CORPS! - Mordian Glory probably
So... 2 combat patrols at $120 ea, 5 additional Sentinels at $60 ea, and another 2 heavy weapon squads at $52 ea. Talking $650 for 1,000pts. That's a big Oofda from me! But yeah, jokes aside, I do love a good themed army, and man, does an entire line of Sentinels look sweet. That's a real good looking army you got there.
You either have so much money that it doesnt matter, or you slowly build it up over time. Doesn't make sense any other way. Play on Tabletop Simulator to practice lists, 3d print everything to enjoy hobbying. That's just me. 650$ for a starter army is crazy.
@@v7w37 If you're gonna be cheap about it, do 3d printing and make non-1:1 proxies. Recasting is just supporting foreign markets in dodging EU/UK/US copyright laws.
Just played my first 40k game last night with a bunch of friends. Funny your video came out. I just realized how awesome my sentinel is and I was thinking of picking up a handful of those guys to make life rough for my enemies. Lol. Good list! Helps a newbie like me out!
I think its a fun list for a well playable gameplan.. my main issue is your fastest bits are also your main ranged firepower and it lacks a counterpunch if engaged in melee.. though without going into allied in imperial agents that is really limited in guard overall.. but just for a tiny bit of it: give all the guardsmen who can their power fists.. sadly that is only possible in your hq's but that way at least you can somewhat do something in melee. Also i feel like the sentinels wanna go up front up that and play the objective game close to the ennemy while still being most of your heavy guns.. wich makes them a bit too easy to engage in melee if you ask me.. again thats all just me but i would feel at odds wether i want to use those for objective running or protect them as my main firepower.
New to the guard, Cadia stands, this video has got me super hyped to get to painting. Eventually I want to build up my tanks for a 2000 point army, but I only need a few sentinels to pull this off.
I recently read the minka lesk books and am loving the guard. Got 30 shock troops and minka and I'm looking to build them out. This is a really cool video
i prefer to take Infantry sqauds instead of cadians. Simply because i dont care about the sticky objectives that much. But the ability to put 1 or 2 heavy weapon teams into your sqauds, allows you to actually use said heavy wepaons while using the blob of models as a shield. and also when you order that unit, you also order those weapons. plus you can still have 1 or 2 special weapons. While also getting cover on objectives.
Brother says there is no really good AP. Laughs in free hunter-killer missiles which can be re-racked with reinforcements. No hate, this is good stuff. Cadia stands!
Hey Sarg. Can you do a vid or share or opinion on Russ vs Dorn vs baneblade. I am always torn to take 3 russes vs my baneblade. Like in what situation or vs what opponents
Not enough infantry in the front rank of your line, I'd add a 6th infantry or maybe a Kasrkin squad and drop an armored sentinel. Heavy Weapon Squad Mortars are too weak to rely on after the indirect fire nerf. Perhaps replace them with a Heavy Mortar or two? After dropping a Scout Sentinel. Those would be my tweaks to this 1,000 point list.
Only issue would be, then it wouldn't be a recreation of that 6th edition detachment. You aren't wrong, though; I just wanted to show that we could still make this.
Glad you enjoy the content 😃 sorry to hear about the joy of the game. I am working on my Solar Auxilia army right now so that I can get that old school rule fix every one in a while.
@@CadianSergeantSteel i think the 5-6th was best edition… starten to go little down hill in 7th with all the detachments…. And straight down in 8-9th had hopes for 10th… but after losing 2 knights to pistol fires and one swing or 2 of helbrecht I realized this is not a game for me anymore
Funnily enough, in terms of how it would play on the tabletop, sending in the Sentinels first and just rushing them up the board would actually be a viable strategy. They've got moderate OC, but that Armored brick is 21 wounds of T8/sv2+. There's not a lot in a balanced 1k that can shift that very easily.

Just ordered the cadian combat patrol with zero experience with warhammer. Your videos are a wealth of knowledge. Thank you.

Welcome to the guard
Just a tip the armored sentinels have reroll wounds not hits against vehicle/monster! :D
Every goddam video I flip a rule around 🤣🤣🤣 FML I just can't help myself.

Recasts on Taobao are indistinguishable and 20% of the cost.

Does give you 4 artillery pieces that can work with the scout sentinels.

Very cool idea man. :) It's nice to see a guard list that hasn't stuffed in lord solar.
I love infantry heavy lists and CADIANS

Thinking of doing a list like this, but with Death Korps.

Looks a lot like one of my guard lists from competitive league.
Take aim really pare well with this heavy weapons squad
Ursala will go good with this army
Is amazing! Try to build my first 1000, do you have a video on how to paint dessert tan sentital like what you have in the army? Looks truly amazing
Kind of. It's my Rogal Dorn paint scheme video minus the Castellan Green camo.

Add a chimera, 10 kasrkin, 2 field ordenace batteries a hellhound and 2 Dorn tanks and you have a good balanced list!

what magnets do you use for your squadmarks? Mine were too strong and pulled the magnets off of the tray
I use 3x2mm magnets from the Magnet Baron on mine

Wrong, proper 1000 pts is baneblade(cost effective) and 2 kreig blobs
Wrong, a proper 1000 point list is 3 Castellans, 3 Cadian Command Squads, and 5 20-man Cadian Shock Troop Squads. Hold. Every. Damn. Thing.
