An instant classic! The story of the Lion, the Enigmatic and the wardrobe
Damnit Drew 😂
Giving the people what they want!
Awesome video! I just uploaded a video comparing the Dream, the Enigmatic and the Lion all together. 😃🎸🔥
Thanks man!
I have both. Enigmatic on my main board, Lion on a secondary. Think they are similar in that they both feel “big” compared to the Ruby / Dream but different in that their mids are just in different places. I use both as clean platforms. Both take pedals well just prefer the tone of Enigmatic. Gain in the Lion is better than the drive of Enigmatic. Buy the one that suits how you use your board
if the please dont destory guys were gearheads... (just found you guys, great videos)
Thanks man!!
You are missing the best part of the Enigmatic imo LOL. Take the time to dial in the OD channel using the Ratio to level match it to the normal channel - well worth the time (and I mean WELL) to dial it in. Personally I use the preset feature to deliver a searing Solo tone when needed - works brilliantly!
In regards to the reverb trails lasting way longer on the Enigmatic. You guys were questioning what the ratio knob does. Is it possible that there is a built in compressor effect on the Enigmatic? This would explain why it would be grabbing those less audible reverb trails and keeping them up in the mix for longer. Ratio is a common control on compressors. Just a though!
Good thought! But I believe ratio is the volume of the OD channel
You guys should do a demo of the walrus audio 385 mk2 it’s a really underrated drive pedal that can cover a ton of ground
I’ve been eyeing that pedal hard 👀
Please test them with a strat!
I've had the enigmatic since it came out and I've probably played it half a dozen times. I prefer the Dream 65 for cleans and the Lion for overdrive. I think I'll be selling mine. Not that it isn't a great pedal; it is. If I just bought one to cover all bases I would consider the enigmatic but having the other two makes it kind of redundant for me.
The Enigmatic heard you liked Reverb 😂
Idk got rid of both. Getting better tones with the fractal fm9 and the tonex
Thanks for sharing! I use my enigmatic before reverbs (emulating an fx loop?) and am gonna try moving delay after as well because I don't like the double breakup at high gain...and yes, it way cranks my delay in the overdrive channel.
But it's funny you hate the overdrive channel. I think it is the best sounding overdrive I have heard and way beats out pedals. However, now that I have dialed in some great tones, I do feel like I can't get it as loud as my clean boost and bright boost when they push the amp. Anyone figure that out yet?
PS, I live mix hundreds of bands a year professionally and find the UAFX stuff to be more realistic than 90% of people with Kempurs and Fractals.
Are both pedals in or out of phase with each other? Do you know if we would need to flip the polarity on one of them for stereo?
Hard choice but I think the Lion is underrated. I have 4 UAFX pedals - Dream, Lion, Ruby and Emigmatic and each acting as an amp on it's respective board. The Lion is on the smaller board with just a volume pedal, a Wampler Re-Wired and Wampler Catacombs and it sounds amazing and full. So my go to I guess would be the Lion
Which one sounds better without the app? I have the dream and never use the app only to register and get the 3 extra cabs and it's amazing and easy to use.
@@ultimateathletejiu-jitsu1944 I've never used the app so I'm not sure. As far as which sounds the best, that's all up to the user. I use the UAFX amp sim pedals purely for clean base tones and use overdrive/distortion pedals to get my drive sounds. I've learned over the years that I prefer a Marshall JTM/Silver Jubilee's clean tone over that of a Fender. But I prefer a Vibrolux clean tone over a Princeton or Deluxe/Deluxe Twin and Vox. For me I'd say Marshall then Fender then Dumble then Vox. I would love the Vox if it wasn't so temperamental with drives and volume 😂
Awesome thank you so much!!! The enigmatic looks great is just don't want to have to rely on an app to get better tones i would just prefer to use the knobs.
Pick any one, they all sound the same.
Marshall bass on 0?? Noooo😅 please add some bass and lesse Treble
