Today we are taking a look at the 2020 Ford Transit! This vehicle has been refreshed for 2020 and it includes a lot of new technology! For the last 40 years, Ford has been America’s best-selling full-size commercial van brand. And for 2020, the Transit family of vans is ready to meet customer needs with more configuration choices, more technology and more efficiency - all driven by customer feedback to make each Cargo Van and Passenger Van better tailored to their purpose. Changes include an all-new Crew Van model, standard Ford Co‑Pilot360 driver-assist features, available all-wheel drive, one new engine, a responsive new 10‑speed transmission, new seating options, styling changes and new technologies, such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Enhanced Active Park Assist. Transit comes into 2020 offering two powertrain choices: a new 3.5L port fuel, direct-injected (PFDI) V6 engine and an enhanced 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. Both engines are paired with a new 10-speed automatic transmission with Selectable Drive Modes and new-for-2020 all-wheel drive is available. A new heavy-duty front axle and Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package round out the components needed to get more done. 10-Speed Automatic with Selectable Drive Modes is paired with all Transit engines. Three overdrive gears and a wide 7.4:1 gear ratio span Integrated torque converter/turbine clutch helps reduce weight, while also reducing the packaging size of the transmission High-speed, one-way clutch helps deliver smooth and responsive shifting
Engine rpm matching on coast-down shifts provides a seamless transition to lower gears - effective when cornering Integrated electric pump works with Auto Start-Stop Technology for seamless restarts Ultra-low viscosity transmission fluid and off-axis variable-displacement pump maximize transmission performance Utilizes real-time adaptive shift schedule algorithms which monitor more than a dozen powertrain- and driver-control signals to help ensure the transmission is in the right gear at the right time Progressive Range Select

I’ve watched this video multiple times. Hands down the most informative video on this van I’ve seen. Great job and thank you. 👍👍👍
We second that ,
This is the most informative video on any vehicle we 've ever cone across,
Hope he get a big bonus , and he's a keeper for his employer .
Because of Mitchell, we just subscribed
Hands down? YOU MEAN FINGER UP INSTEAD😁
Town & Country and this reviewer Mitchell consistently produce top quality video reviews. He’s an exemplary speaker. Thank You.
Fabulous presentation! I am looking to buy a Ford Transit to live in. Although my local Ford dealerships could not answer any of my questions, you have answered all of them. Your presentation skills are right on! thank you from Campbell California :-)
Thumbs up definitely on all the description/explanation on this van, it helped me big time!
Loved the video. Love this van. You and Ford both did a great job.
I much prefer the forward driving position and all the glass/low beltline of a van vs. the higher hood and somewhat squinty windshields of most modern pickup trucks. The forward driving position also makes for better space utilization. My ideal vehicle would be a cab chassis Transit with a pickup bed. I haven't taken the measurements but I think Ford could probably get a "T-150" w/ 8 foot bed in the same space that a regular cab short bed F-150 takes up. They'd sell dozens of them which is probably why they'll never do it, but a man can dream, right?
Wow very informative video, been looking at minivans for my growing family and this looks like a serious vehicle.
definitely you helped me. Interested in buying a transit soon. thanks for your video!
I enjoyed this video alot. Learned alot., Very grateful. Thanks from ireland!
Is there an option for seats with armrests for the rear seat (at least on the door side)? In the Ford custom build configurator I see the fabric seat photo shows an armrest in the small photo but then the large interior photo does not show them. For long trips with my kids armrests would be really desirable. Would love to confirm this before ordering.
Nice review though. I appreciate the video. Increases my anticipation for mine.
Thanks for posting......very informative
Well done. Nice to know the practical height of mid roof for rolling in motorcycles and overall livability. I think I want the mid roof long AWD with the 3.5 eco boost
ECOBOOST = TONS OF PROBLEMS
3.7 = VIRTUALLY TROUBLE FREE
NO COMPARISON
Excellent presentation!
Very informative.
Love the presentation. It will help me make informed decision.
Any update on the transmission fluid dipstick for daily ambulance checks?
Thanks. Great. Video... very helpful
Very good demonstration! Thanks
This was a very very thorough tour of the very very new Ford van and I'm very very happy to have seen it. Take very very good care of your very very nice van.
You are very very welcome! 😂
@@TCcustoms_ Ha, ha! Glad you see you have a good sense of humor! Take care! 🤣
How easy is it to remove the second row seats on the crew van? With the crew van and AWD I can see this as an alternative to a pickup truck but I’m sure there are times that the second row of seats could get in the way if you need to haul a lot or something really long
Most informative ever, thanks!
Great review. That crew setup is perfect.
Excellent! Thank you.
Planning on buying a Medium Roof, Long Wheelbase Crew Van for Overlanding/Traveling/Bugging Out and putting a motorcycle and garage in the back. 🤘🏼
Sounds awesome!
as a mechanic you should know better...these vans are shocking.
I have a 2015 and I hate the Gas cap. My pant leg always get caught on it and 4 years in the hinge snapped
Excellent and informative video! Could you please post the website or link for the bodybuilding specifics on the transit once again!
Great video. I was sold on promaster, but this swayed me. “And that is something you need to know, nonetheless.”
which one did you end up getting (assuming you decided to move forward with a van)? I've been looking at both but it seems like the Transit is the move.
@@alexballew I actually got a transit connect for my first van. 2012, which has a higher roof. I plan on building it out as a light camper for weekends. In 5 years I’m planning on moving up to a larger van.
@@VanGoWanderlust Congrats man!
My 2005 Mercedes Sprinter has 768kmiles on it . 2003 - 2006 only.
'OM647' "Million Mile Motor"
You CANNOT find one UNDER $10K miles with UNDER 400k MILES on it!?
There's a good reason they call it the only "MILLION MILE MOTOR" ever built!?
Great info, thanks!
Be cool for cleaning crew, small family, Police and fire, it's a endless setup, but I would go with four captain seats instead...nice rig!
Excellent brief. Thank you.
Outstanding!
Very nice, quick question on the crew model, is the second row seating removable and how difficult would that be? On the MB Metris it's quick detach.
I am wondering the same
I absolutely love your videos! I am a car sales woman at a Ford dealership in northern California! I absolutely love my job and I would love to do videos like you do! I have a UA-cam channel but I don’t know how to make it go as wild as yours! Keep up the great work I learn a lot from you!
🙋🏻♀️🚘🙋🏻♀️🚘🙋🏻♀️🚘🙋🏻♀️🚘
i like the cargo lights make easier to secure the load at night.
Are the three back seats detachable? And could you possibly add three additional seats back there?
Do you sell work van low roof 130 WB with adaptive cruise control and 8" sync 3?Here in Chicago area you will never meet this options together.
Best video! Thanks for all the info!
Dude. This van is amazing.
Looks amazing for vanlife!
High roof, 4x4, remote start, upfitter switch panel like on raptor or super duties, diesel? Does the smaller transit have a turbo eco boost awd with remote start option?
Thanks for your time actually making a great video but i’ll go ahead and drop my dime on 2020 Sprinter 🤙
great vid
Excellent presentation
Been happy with my 2014 Promaster for six years now, but either an AWD Transit or a Transit Quadvan conversion to 4x4 is in my future.
I want one to turn into a camper. I'll keep the back seats for friends turn the back into a bed.
I'm 5'5 not sure if I need that much roof
Thank you for the great video! Is the back seat in the crew van a single piece? Or is it possible to remove a portion of it? I only need a single seat (one space) in the back row - ideally just the center seat - and am wondering if the location of the factory seat mounting holes on the floor would allow me to do this?
It is one solid bench.
You can buy a seat to fit
GREAT VIDEO
I've seen photos of Transit that those side passenger door are instead of sliding door they get split doors, it does comes in an option too?
I've also heard that Ford applied for a copyright on the name Scout. This being used for the "baby Bronco".
Did they fix the windshield drainage problem and the excessive rusting of the undercarriage?
Very good job I plan on buying another transit I have the connect and love it but need a bigger van Ford is the best
Thanks for introducing the 2020 transit
I have one extended. I bought it with one key I bought one from dealer but I need to program the key by using the onboard is it remote start originally
I don’t think I learn to program key need two keys or one with remote start to get the add key programed
great video
Great Job.
thanks bro!
Good for camper van conversion
All that stuff is good but did you fix the driveshaft issue? ie: The coupler that needs replacing every 30K miles
if there were insulation on the ceiling, how tall could you be and not touch the roof? Thanks
Those Ford Transits have blind spots in the front quarters, it has a sloped windshield with solid side panels that block your vision. I used to drive one at work and poles, signs, and pedestrians used to pop up out of nowhere.
Now if Ford would just make 'live-in' models like the Fiat Ducato versions made in Germany (e.g. Knaus, Adria), they would have crazy sales figures. :)
That squarish angled "cup holder" on the driver's side could be an umbrella holder.
That was a great presentation. What estimate on mileage between diesel or gas? I’m wondering if Ford has fixed the wheel, axle, break problem on past transit? I want to build a class B RV, using the Ford Transit.
Stay as far as possible from their garbage diesel, I have one and it’s been a nightmare from the first few months
Man, he sure likes to tell us what we NEED to know.
I noticed when the configurator first came out, there was a dual sliding door option but now it's gone, what happen to that option?
The Ford online configurator is limited, it is basic tool to direct you to a local Ford dealer and get you in the door. The dealership has the 'Order Guide' with all the codes. There you will see the option for a driver side slider.
Its not gone
Are those the replacement of the ford cargo van that was made from 1999-2015 ?
could it be the "sketchy" cup holder meant for your water bottle? just a thought.
I'm sold!!!!
What is the msrp of that van? Thinking AWD and 5 passenger setup and the rest for cargo. Low roof middle size wheelbase.
Have you guys fixed drive shaft problem and water leak problem
Please explain how are the dual battery works on the Transit? Can we plug a mini refrigerator on the Transit when the van is not running? Will it kill the battery that van will not start the next morning?
Iv had Ford transits all my life but iv got mercedes sprinter for the first time. The difference is unreal. Yes I'll get done for higher parts service ect but man the sprinter is a mean machine
My 2005 Sprinter has the 'OM647' "MILLION MILE MOTOR"
Only installed from 2003 - 2006
Mine has 768k miles, still pulls 24mpg daily fully loaded (Carpenter)
ONLY THING I EVER HAD TO DO TO IT , Replace the PLASTIC TURBO RESONATOR TUBE with an ALUMINUM ONE!!! lol
I run a BLOCK HEATER 24/7/365 and do oil changes every year. 12 - 15000 miles.
Good stuff
We need to hear if past problems have been corrected. We can get this info from car lots.
They havent been only adding more technology over already existing problems to cover it up more or less
You can't, because you can't ever actually touch a crew van. They don't exist on any car lots.
like the horrible sync connection? my 2010 bluetooth speaker has better connection than my transit
We are sure that the AWD system makes this vehicle very safe, which skids as little as possible on paved roads even if they are icy, snowy. It would be good to know its off-road capabilities because among the 20% of family users, some want to use it as an RV.
Built in Kansas City, Missouri!
Any advice on how to get approved for a ford transit auto loan? I haven't had an auto loan before
How much is the price for the Ford Transit highest roof, longest extended model cargo van plain white exterior?
If ford would make the styling like that of a navigator they would sell way more. I really like the van
Can I remove or add seats. So if I bought the crew van and I wanted to remove the 2nd row as I am not using it at that time
You can remove it, although it's rather heavy (I think around 100 lbs). If not, just get a cargo van
I have a 2017 Ford Transit 350 mid roof. It has a 12 volt plug in at the far rear-right next to the passenger side of the rear door. Does the 2020 models have this on the rear? Also someone mentioned they would rather have the Mercedes sprinter van. The problem with that is if you break down in the middle of nowhere, where do you get them fixed? Someone said you might have to have it towed hundreds of miles. With the Ford’s you can go just about anywhere to have it fixed. Thanks for the great video. I live in the Pacific Northwest.
Is it suitable for patient transportation?
Thank you for a very informative video. This “Crew” version of this van, which is a great equipment package for families, is IMPOSSIBLE to find. I live in a huge metropolitan area (South Florida) and there isn't a single one available from any dealer or individual, new or used. One would have to be shipped from elsewhere or ordered from the factory.
So order it...
@@CanadianTexaninLiguria without seeing one first?
@@seanf5821 Damn, I wonder what this video was about. It's just like a normal Transit with one extra row of seats, nothing super special other than that.
Hi, if I live out of state can I order a custom build and have it delivered?
Yes you can! We have sold all over the country
Mpg?
What is the camera under the driver seat for?
What about water dripping on cpu
More info than I received from my dealership. Excellent job. Thank you.
I looked for a "transit cutaway" as soon as you mentioned it as an RV and all it gave me was the transit van styled vehicle but made like a pickup truck. No roof in the back and just the cab was covered but it looks so weird to see that together.
a lifted van with flatbed. yuppp
Natural charismatic dude
When I first watched this, I said to myself I will wait for the diesel and power sliding door. Here we are in late 2021, still no diesel or power sliding door option for the crew van.
Hey I like the TOYOTA ADDS, WHILE LOOKING AT FORD. ! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Which wheelbase would I need for 8ft behind the second row seats? I'd like to carry a Harley Utra Classic in back.
How are you going to get it in the back? Far simpler, cheaper and more sense to put in a trailer. Or maybe just ride like BMW owners do
Good question. I’m tired of trailers too, and would like to sleep two. 2
Can one custom order one if so how much time does it take to get it ?? Thank you very much
Has drive shaft problem been addressed ?
And the caliper sticking/semi metallic pads
Can the rear passenger seats recline?
Can we get awd of medium roof 130 wb?
Why does the Transit come in extended length on the high roof only?
The low and medium roof have the 14i" wb but not extended.
Probably because they don't think that anyone is going to buy a shortie with the high roof and they'd never make back their investment in the tooling and crash test certification needed to offer that configuration. Just my guess.
@@mattdavis9601 I was interested in a medium room extended for a RV build. The height would be a little tight for me at 5'10". Would put up insulation.
And the old Dodge used to have a Maxi van.
Thanks for you insightful comment.
@@277kne It "would" be perfect
@@mattdavis9601 Misunderstood the question
Correction. 148" wheel base
We have 75 of these Van's in our fleet. The driver seen to break off the gas doors. I have seen other Van's with this ppl problem also. Ford must know this due to part sales.
I see it everyday wht kind of problems have you had we have chevy express 2500 2017 no issues but company wants to change price of ford is way more than chevy just curious
How do you like the van overall? Do you think you made a good choice going with the Ford?
Does the crew van have quick release
Can you put those headlights on a 2018 ford transit 350? Because I really want those headlights
Yes, they should fit in your 350. Contact your local dealership for clarification.
Yes you should
That's my dream vehicle
Muito bonita essa van ó parabens
