When my youngest son was a baby, I would sing this song to him as I rocked him to sleep. He's a grown man now but to this day when I hear this song I think about all those times and how he would smile and gently drift off to dreams in my arms. Love you son!
All the hate for doing something different. This was a turning point for a lot of fans that jumped off the Garth train. Too bad, because for me this album just gets better and better every time I hear it. And it's good to see other people think the same thing.
Best Garth Brooks song that nobody knows about because he sang it under a different name. Still hoping someone will cover it, so it will be rescued from obscurity.
Sometime in the early 2000s. Not sure the exact year, probably 2001-2003. I was having an identity crisis, I dont know where my life is going. (At the age of 22) One day i was just the usual me, going out of the house without any exact destination. I found myself in a mall. I always go to the music store to have a listen to any music genre. Then i came across of this album. Didnt know Garth Brooks, specially Chris Gaines. But the music in this album really struck me. Its like my world stops and it made me think of whats happening in my life. Bought this album and every night in my bed playing this entire album crying. 😅😅😅
This song also helped me when my husband and I split up...the raw pain I felt at the time was so consuming and I heard this song and it helped me realize there was still a tomorrow and that we all have the strength to get through the painful things if we have the courage and help to get through it if we look for it...by chance I heard this song on the radio and it helped me cry and heal...the power of music is truly incredible in its ability to make us feel so many emotions ❤
Why are we like we are and why do we do like we do? We exalt only to cut folks we formerly loved at the knees. Garth is human, not a god, not a demon just a man, who has proclivities like any other. We love you Garth, for the man you are, for the talent you share, and for the pain you suffer at our hands, or wagging tongues , and worst of all, for the execs and so called managers, who torture you to be whatever image they would like to sell. To have to go off into a sideline out of necessity, is criminal of the powers that just keep being. Anyway CHRIS, as always, and maybe even more,I love what you possess, and hope you find peace in your style, and talent, if the two intersect, thats a real gift, to you and all who share in same. Thanks again brother.
I wish these songs were on Spotify. Not covers. I feel like he could have released this as a country song and it would have been his best seller. What an absolute waste of a masterpiece.
My wedding album 1999, we danced at southern fantasies in Paris TN Paris landing area November my adopted mom boyfriend and his friend Terry Hayes paid for our honeymoon we went to the mountains Dollywood area
What a great tune. Garth sounds phenomenal here. He could have pulled off a rock album had he not been Garth Brooks first. It has moments that sound like Billy Joel, I had to look up writin credits to see, but no, Billy was not in this song.
This is my dance with my husband Jeffrey Dempsey middlebrooks 99 Nov 8 at southern fantasies I went to work that night and they paid for a honey moon and friends and us went to mountains and we had rice necklaces made we hand glided over the mountains together same glider it was beautiful all way up there and for long time at least I can say I had you and thanks for the time we did get together have nice holiday
Not ashamed to say to this day one of my favorite songs
Same for me...
I wish someone would re-post the Donny and Marie show version from 99. It's just him and his guitar, and it is incredible.
Love it
It comes up in my suggested videos constantly and there's a reason for that... They (UA-cam) know(s) I can't not click on it 🤣💯
Me too.the first time I heard it I was driving and it hit me so hard. I had to pull over with tears in my eyes. Just love this song.

Right on brother! God bless.
After all these years, this song still gives me goosebumps. 😍🤤
❤❤ I love this album, he is genius 🥰🥰
He didn’t write these songs but I agree with you

Love this song love the CD !
This song is up there with "The Dance" & "If Tomorrow Never Comes". An absolutely beautiful song & a hidden gem many dont know about
Absolutely
It's from the movie for the love of the game, Absolute perfection
It's up there with Hope Floats!
Perfect song for the moment it was used in "For Love of the Game"...great blast from the past

There’s a bunch of covers on iTunes, happy listening!
I wanna hear a Zack Bryan cover of this!
Great album ❤️

The album came out in 1999 and it had only 2 songs ;)
@@ronitorayban184 1999, yes, but had 13 tracks for a total length of 56:23.

@@ronitorayban184 yeah maybe it came out the year. But i only heard it around 2000s. ☺️
@@trishbrooks2152 thats good to know im not the only one who had the big impact to this song. ☺️
I’ve got about 3 or 4 songs maybe that make me cry and this is one of them.
Just good music
Thank You!! Can never find Garth Gaines! Very appreciative.
I absolutely love this song. I had it downloaded years ago to an iPod or cd but lost it. Glad it’s back!
Thank you for uploading this song, UA-cam always takes it down, so this time I'm going to download it before it's gone ;)

For the love of the game brought me here years ago ❤ great movie and song
It is one of my favorite songs too
Awesome song....
This is definitely the Garthiest song on the record but that is not a bad thing! He always had so much soul.
His alter ego. When he admitted he was psycho yet genius. Great tune.
Yesss
Download time i love it
Nice
Best thing brooks done.

All the lyrics I Google say 'So without you' but I swear it sounds like 'So, why aren't you?'
You're right. It's not the first time that I've found that "official" lyrics are sometimes wrong. "So without you" doesn't make any sense.
@@carolynmilner6113 Thank you! I knew it wasn't just me.

Not exactly unknown...
That's Garth Brooks!! 😁
Shhhh. No, it ain't. ~wink~

I thought Chris Gaines identity was to explore non-country tracks. this is bluesy but its not at all alien to the country scene.
Always hated that this song was.on this ridiculous album and wished he had released it as himself because it is so good and would have been a hit!
Not as ridiculous as you calling this album ridiculous

This album is one great list of songs!!
that is Barf Brooks alter ego
Was Keith Urban created from Chris Gaines!?
Where are the bodies, G
You mean the dead horse that Segura and his fans can't stop beating?
Families need closer g
Where are the bodies Garth?😭😂
Where are the bodies g 😢
We should have been suspect of Garth when he came out with this album
Sounds like he stole this song from George Harrison isn't it a pity
Totally serial killer vibes
Doesn't sound pop or alternative at all. Sounds like the same garth brooks crap he always do.
Than you have no clue about him at all, if that’s why you think
It isn't country, it's more pop and folk like music. Cop a clue people.
