Nice work. Been on all 3 spirits of Tasmania several times, always good fun and much better than flying. Well done on the maintenance and on the whole spirit of Tasmania experience. I recommend it to everyone although the day sailings can be murder if you don't have a seat or cabin.
Love going across to Tassie aboard the Spirit, the only problem is getting off the ship and the long wait through customs at Devonport. One and a half hours, 4 weeks ago after the day trip across Bass Strait. There were 5 lanes of cars moving into 3 lanes and not enough customs officers for the amount of cars. It made it so late getting into Launceston for our accomodation. Getting off at Melbourne is a breeze, dock at 6am and off the Ferry by 6-30am and on the road to home. I'll still keep going via. the Ferry as that's where family is.
What customs check are you on about? I travelled on the sprit 3 weeks ago, and the only reason it took us an hour and a half to get off was the fact that our car was on level 1. No customs check for us arriving in Davenport.

Glad the dock is not done during holidays as there will be enough demand for daily crossings from both Melbourne and Devonport during ski season.
I remember this ship running with 27 miles cruise speed in Mediterranean between Greece and Italy. Gorgeous vessel.
