- Yep, I just put a deposit down on a new 2024 Chevy Blazer EV.
What started as my wife's Tesla, has quickly become something much more than just that. My wife bought her Tesla Long Range back in Jan 2022. My son and myself seem to use it a whole lot more than she does. Which explains why I bought my own Tesla RWD back at the end of July 2022.
Now GM comes along and announces the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, and of course I really dig the looks of that. So what do I do? I put a deposit down on the Blazer to reserve my spot of course. Why the Blazer? It was really no contest for me, the Blazer beats the Tesla Cyber Truck hands down based on looks.
Not really sure what my obsession is with EV's at the moment. I can tell you the Chevy Blazer EV is a super sharp vehicle. I had my eye on the ICE version of the Blazer before I bought my RWD Model 3, and when I saw the EV model I knew this is something I wanted.
The reality is something will have to give. It will come down to a bake off between my Tesla RWD Model 3 and the new Blazer. I won't be keeping both.
You might want to stick with me here to get my perspective on the purchase process between GM and Tesla, or the comparisons between the vehicles.

Congrats on the M3. I think the Blazer is a pretty sharp looking vehicle.

@@73av8r5 Yea, I like the Rivian a lot. A co-worker of mine recently bought one. He likes it, but when he needed service he had some challenges as they had to tow it 250 miles to the closest service center. Hopefully as they grow that won't be a problem in a few years.
Congratulations. Not sure if I understand where you’re coming from in the title here. Comparing the blazer to the cyber truck is like comparing apples to oranges. The two vehicles have very different target audiences, styling and will probably end up at totally different price points. These two vehicles were never intended to compete with each other.
Oh I agree with you. I was mainly referring to styling, and it’s only my opinion. I’m just not a fan of the design on the Cyber Truck, and think the Blazer EV nailed it. Again, only my opinion.

@@mywifestesla makes sense 😀 the Cyber Truck is very polarizing. Personally I hated it when it first debuted but I ended up ordering one about a year ago anyway. We’ll see if it’s ever delivered… I drive a lot and it will be a while before I graduate from a Tesla due to their supercharger network. Other DC fast chargers are just not reliable and plentiful enough yet.
Congrats on the Cyber Truck. I'm really interested to see them on the streets (someday), and see what people think. I hope Tesla nails it.
