I love the Terra Scorcher! I had one many years ago (1990) and built it up with all bearings, ESC, good shocks, and Tamiya Gold motor.
Then, I bought a second Terra Scorcher (with full bearings and a Tamiya Gold motor), cut both chassis in half and then attached the two rear sections together, added the steering components to the front end (I did run 4-wheel steering for a while, but was too unstable), and I had a Terra Scorcher with a matched pair of Tamiya Gold motors (front motor wired in reverse), and two battery packs. It went about 50mph, could run full blast for over 20-minutes, and handled like it was on rails in the dirt and on pavement with street tires. :) The original body cover didn't fit, but I bought a few car bodies for it to wear. (*ed. for sp)
Looking forward to building mine as well. Also doing a terra scorcher but doing blue arms, uprights, and hubs as well. Thank you again for the carbon chassis. Absolutely top notch.

That is going to be one super sweet looking buggy once it is all done. I love the carbon fiber chassis and the aluminum parts will really make it pop!! It is going to be one bulletproof buggy!!

Looking forward to the build. My Terra Scorcher is my go-to runner. Everything I break gets replaced with aluminum parts. The carbon chassis kit makes me hope my chassis breaks soon 😮😂😂

Hah that G11 part is indeed an issue. What I ended up doing was getting some carbon fiber twill and then doing a wet layup on top of that part to add the strength. I have not broken it at all so far after about 2 years of relatively frequent use.

I’m looking forward to seeing this project done, those are really awesome looking parts. I have built a VQS using the RCEvologic aluminum parts and it really turned out nice. I was hesitant to get a VQS because of the reputation of the G11 part being weak, but this aluminum one is just great!

one last item. I also did the ball-bearing swap out because they just seemed to be the logical thing to do.

@@TAMIYALegends yes a light runner. I’ve also heard that pro chassis is longer and people have had issues with the TA drive shaft still be a little short. Be interesting to see it all go together, especially with all the expensive gold parts!

I have the re re terra scorcher and recently decided to do some upgrades including some of the stuff covered here. I got given a surpass v5r 13.5t brushless motor for my birthday. The thing is it doesn't have motor leads attached so i am just wondering if anyone here can confirm what size or weight of wire to use?
I would be looking to use bullet connectors to attach initially to tbles2 esc an later hobbywing 60 or 120 esc.
Is this using the same main body as the Dirt Thrasher with a different wing?
Yeah technically it’s the other way round but yes the main shell is the same 🤩👊🏻

Never was a Vanquish fan right enough (or Avante or Egress) so that’s likely why that term passed me by.
