yes you must have separate file of tables and figures, means figure and tables in a sinlge file but separate from main document, remember all the journal dont demand same.

" Does it mean its mandatory to pay once my paper is accepted or just when my paper is printed ? Is it mandatory also to print the paper?

You should not pay they will ask u will u pay for color figure u say no or NA
