Hey guys! Im so excited to start this years Advent Calendars! We should be doing minimum 25 advent calendars this year and Im so excited to go through all of them with you! @@Balletified in actuality it’s leftover stock and samples that’s not expected to generate profit so it doesn’t cost them anything (except for the boxes) so it’s almost a 100% profit for sephora, that’s why the expected value for these advent calendars is more than it’s cost.

For OG viewers it's so funny to remember when she opened the first Sephora calendar she was rather cautious with what she said and is every year has passed he has completely tossed out any idea of cutting them a break and I couldn't be happier to see that because they haven't done anything to cut their customers one. Year after year not only filling it full of garbage but the same garbage it's shocking to the mind. We don't have Sephora in Canada but this would be easily enough to make me never set foot in their store again. All by my makeup at London Drugs their return policy is amazing and they have a great selection.

In Australia, they're selling a "gift set" containing 13 of just the shower cream capsules (7.9ml). It's retailing for $24 AUD, meaning each pod is $1.85 AUD. A 260mL bottle of the equivalent shower gel (they don't have the cream in full size but scents are the same) is $15 AUD, if you break it down to the size of the pods, it's 45 CENTS PER 7.9ML. They're literally charging you 4 times more because it's Christmas, not to mention the wasteful packaging. WTH SEPHORA?!

What I've learned from watching calendar unboxing videos are the more expensive ones are just free samples definitely look at reviews and stuff before buying I know it ruins the suprise but thats better than wasting your money
The best advent calendar I had was a 14-15 € one from like a small store, I still use some of the stuff to this day, the brow gel we got in there worked amazing as a clear mascara & the packaging alone was worth it (every single item was in a small box that could be pulled out, amazing since we could use the boxes afterwards for storage)

The best part of this Sephora calendar was the end where Rin and Tater both got treats. That is about par for each year!
I ordered the $25 advent calendar mostly for the blush. With my 20% discount the calendar was basically the price of the blush alone and I’ve always wanted to try the blush so it was worth it for me. I also love the makeup wipes.

Love when it's advent calendar season! Fun fact on the No Place Like Home eye shadow. In the original books, Dorothy's shoes were silver instead of red, the red was a change that was made for the movie. So maybe this is a nice literary reference?

Maybe they couldn't fit "No Place like Home for the Holidays" on the label & it didn't occur to them that the shorter version was going to remind people of the Wizard of Oz. Or maybe they don't actually care.

I’m so excited for advent calendar season! This might sound odd, but last year your videos (especially the advent) helped me so much mentally. I’m a student in Scotland, from the US, and with the covid variant at the time I wasn’t sure I’d be able to go home for Christmas to see my family. And genuinely, your advent videos were so soothing and brought me a little bit of Christmas joy everyday, they really helped keep me going for that rough anxious period :)

The holiday season officially starts when Alexandria does the Sephora advent calendar. Also, I appreciate that it isn't decorated in stereotypical Christmas designs, as not everyone celebrates Christmas. I, for one, celebrate the season of advent calendar disappointment.

There are actually even more Sephora advent calendars this year. One called Sephora Favourites and another extension calendar with the same name. They went ham this year

I think the “extension calendar” is meant to be given as a Christmas-day gift. While they maybe expect you to get your own advent calendar for yourself as a countdown to Christmas

In regard to the name of that 1st single pan eyeshadow in silver: in the original book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Dorothy's Slippers were silver. They changed them to ruby slippers for the movie. So maybe that's why it's named that? I mean who knows why Sephora does anything that they do but that would be my best guess. 😁
