    Another tip is to take it off on concrete or a hard surface. If you must take it off in dirt put boards or something under the outriggers so it doesn't settle and become unlevel!

    I've got a KB2485 on an RX7320 PCC with R4 tires and it does everything a tractor backhoe should. nice and strong. If I need something more powerful, I would rent a mini ex. I run an 18" bucket in very hard clay with no problem. I have several comments on it. GREASE EVERY PIN! per maintenance schedule, grease every pin. I love how many zirks it has compared to other brands. I have trouble re-connecting my hydraulic lines after its been off tractor for a while, and sometimes I have to take a pair of wrenches and loosen a quick coupler and let about 1 to 2 ounces of fluid out. Then the quick connects pop right in. This can happen with any brand tractor backhoe. I really like the subframe style, I think it's pretty easy to put on. It seems to form a little slop at a bolted on cross bar to the subframe, under the seat area, but I believe the 4 nuts on the 4 bolts just need to be replaced with aircraft lock nuts and oversized washers. The controls feather nicely, and I was impressed when I got it home. I have filled tires, and I think it really helps keep the machine planted while working. One day I would like to get a hydraulic thumb for it. With the power shuttle gear machine I have, I really think the creeper helps in positioning perfectly for putting it on. Glad I spent the coin for the creeper gear.

      That hydraulic thumb is SPENDY. Did you ever get it and was it worth it? I've been considering the manual/fixed/bolt on thumb. Much more reasonable cost and gives you some grab ability.

    Hi I'm thinking about getting a CS model for lawn and snow. My present tractor is getting to hard for me to install the mower deck and or the snow blower alone as I'm getting older.
    Could you please do a full demo on installing the mower deck and the snow blower for us older guys? I need to see if it is something I could do alone without hurting myself. Thanks

    @4:23 the tractor going forward caught the backhoe frame and pulled it forward a bit, what did it catch on? Does the forward backhoe frame need to be lowered so the tractor will clear and can drive tractor away?

    • @kingofbytes
      @kingofbytes 2 роки тому

      When he pulled away the first time to disconnect the lines, he should have lowered the backhoe frame to the ground (the front part near the engine of the tractor). Then there would have been no issues pulling away. Because he left the frame in a level (remounting) position, the rear bracket where the 2 pins go was hit. In their effort to show how 'easy' it was, they missed the easy step of lowering the frame to the ground.

      He should have - it's no big deal to do so and is quite easy. Literally just push one of the backhoe levers forward so the front of the frame hits the ground. That's it. Not sure why they chose to shortcut the demo.

    It was my understanding that the parking break has to be engaged to get off the seat, but I see him driving forward while standing. Is this not the case on this model?

    • @ifyoutip
      @ifyoutip 2 роки тому

      Yes, that is true for this particular model. But I see he had his knee on the seat. I often do the same and it works fine. The seat safety does have a delay to it, it is not like a lawn mower seat. I think mine is 10-15 second delay so time to stand up, scratch your butt and sit back down no problem if you ain't wearing your seatbelt

    Wow... look how easy it is.... 🙄🙄🙄 We bought a kioti about 6 years ago with a backhoe and other implements, and it is not as "easy" as they are showing.
    I will say that this design is slightly better than the older version with the PTO powered pump.
    What they don't say... as Paul Hill also pointed out: #1 in the video at 4:20 as they are moving the tractor forward, right before they stop you will see the backhoe jerk forward. That's because the front "locking" part of the backhoe frame is hitting the rear attachment points on the tractor. So you have to push down the front of the backhoe frame in order to get the tractor to pass over it. You have to release pressure just right on the backhoe in order to do this, release the wrong piston, and its screwed and will put pressure on the wrong locations. Further, at this point in time of disconnecting you have no power to the backhoe to correct this, as the hydraulic hoses nor the PTO powered pumps will reach anywhere near that far.
    #2 if the backhoe frame lowers down after you have disconnected it... as in the hydraulic pressure slowly releases over time _(hours/days)_ or if you release it purposely without having the backhoe frame JUST PERFECTLY blocked up and level... then when you go to reconnect the backhoe, it is a pain in the butt to get the backhoe frame back up high enough in order for it to slide back into BOTH locking positions of the frame.
    This is due to multiple design problems. The first of which the front locking "guides" should be much longer, that way you could raise the front of the backhoe frame and get it to begin to slide into the front tractor guides FIRST. Then next you could easily raise the back end of the backhoe frame and get it to slide into the locking plate on the rear of the tractor. But it doesn't work this way. The rear plate will actually hit first, then it is often difficult to the get the front plate up level enough to slide in.
    Also on the older design where you have to connect the pto powered backhoe pump to the tractor, you have no power on the backhoe until you are already very often past the frame locking points. So very often you have to use a floor or bottle jack in order to raise the backhoe frame up enough to clear the locking points in the tractor frame, before you are finally able to connect the PTO pump. They may have "fixed" this issue by changing to quick connect hoses that run off the tractor.
    One thing they haven't fixed that is the worse flaw on both of these designs (new and old) is the fact that when the backhoe is disconnected, if the backhoe frame is lowered to the ground for any reason. It will take a couple hours in order to get it raised back up and reconnect it to the tractor. This is even more true if is not on hard **LEVEL** ground or on a concrete floor. IF you disconnect the backhoe from the tractor on UNLEVEL ground... you will most likely get fairly steamed when trying to reconnect it.
    My Dad and I both just spent over 2 hours trying to reconnect this backhoe today... and of course it had to start raining... after it had been sitting for a year and half just because we knew how hard it would be to reconnect. The only reason it was on the ground to begin with was because apparently our "drug dealing neighbor" removed the two locking pins (and took them) because they hate us. We didn't notice they were missing, and not even sure when it happened as we had used the tractor multiple times but not the backhoe. The next time we did use the backhoe, without the locking pins to hold it on, of course it pulled itself off the tractor. Thankfully we did have the outriggers firmly down, or it would have turned over with me on it. As we were working down in our field which has a good sloping grade to it.
    We had not way to reconnect to the tractor because of its position and it being on far from level ground. But our other neighbor brought his much larger tractor over and picked it up with chains connected to his front loader and brought it back up to our barn. Because there was no way to power the hydraulics we had no choice but to just sit it down onto some 2x4's just to keep it off the dirt. And like I said that's where it sat for the last year and half just because of hard it would be to get it lifted backup and reconnected. But we have to have it now, so we finally relented. Had to drag a floor jack outside and jack it up at multiple points and connect and disconnect the hydraulic pump several times before finally getting enough boards in the right places to put it into a position that it would finally slide into the locking plates on the tractor.
    I just came across this video while I am currently researching if anyone else had come up with some sort of stand that this stupid thing could be sat on when you disconnect it, so that when you go to reconnect it, the backhoe frame would already be at the correct height and level. This would be easy if I was able to keep it inside my shop with my nice level concrete floor, as some modified dollies would work. But I can't.
    If I am not able to find anything that someone else has built, I will have to figure it out from scratch as I am tired of wasting an hour everytime I go to hook the backhoe to the tractor, and the same when I have to disconnect it, and thats even when I have it blocked up as best as possible. I hate having to disconnect the backhoe when I need another implement, as I know the amount of time I have to waste doing that too. I would have never bought this tractor or any kioti if I had known this before I bought it. And if I get the chance/money, I will trade this in and buy a different new non-kioti tractor.
    My last complaint in this little rant... if they are going to make these tractors seat and sitting area, and worse yet the backhoe seat with it almost sitting on top of the controls, so that only 5 foot nothing people can fit... then they should also include a small person who can fit on there to operate it... or don't sell it in the US or any nation where the average persons height exceeds 5 foot tall.
    yeah, as you may have noticed I'm a bit aggravated with this tractor today...

    • @ifyoutip
      @ifyoutip 2 роки тому +2

      You made my day with your rant there. I would not buy a PTO pump driven backhoe either. But I would by a new one like these. You can't mess these up. You can always extend the hoses just for hooking it up if need be. Can't do that on a PTO pump driven backhoe. But you made it seem worse than it is but In the rain it's always worse. I worked with heavy equipment almost all my life. I used to get frustrated just changing large excavator buckets. I'm talking on big ones that can weigh tons, big one where they don't use quick attach. The pins can weigh 100s of lbs and they are greasy. And everything needs to be lined up perfectly or you never get the pins out to change buckets, then the pins finally are out and you got to line everything up perfectly to put the other bucket on. O rings, spacer washers and everything. A sledge hammer hitting them big pins if they are not perfectly lined up is like a bicyclist trying to tow a semi with his bicycle.

    • @markadams696
      @markadams696 2 роки тому +1

      I noticed also they did not pull all the way out from under the back hoe frame , it’s a little easier lining it up when you do not pull all the way out. As long as that frame is ,it would be hard to hook up the hydraulics out far. I’m thinking could you have a couple hydraulic extension hoses that would reach so you could at least run the backhoe to try to line it up and then after you had it on you could take the extension hoses off in between the hoses to the tractor and backhoe.

    • @kingofbytes
      @kingofbytes 2 роки тому +2

      While I appreciate this write up, I've got to tell you none of these issues are deal breakers. As a matter of fact, even with the hydraulics sagging a week or a month later, the process is the exact same to reconnect. Just back over it and connect the hydraulic lines then manipulate the controls on the backhoe to get it to level - takes all of 30 seconds. At most this process is 10 minutes, seriously.
      The biggest pain is actually the pressure you have to relieve in the backhoe hydraulic lines before you reconnect. Just jiggle the joysticks back and forth and side to side, grab a rag and a piece of wood or a small hammer and gently whack the nipple on the hydraulic line. Pressure relieved. It's too bad they don't have a pressure relief valve but no one really does in this market segment of backhoe.

    • @Yhrim70
      @Yhrim70 2 роки тому

      @@kingofbytes I'm not saying its a deal breaker, just a pain. I don't know how you can hook it up in 10 minuets. This LB1914 takes me at least 15 minuetes just to remove the backhoe. 30 minuets MINIMUM to get it back on the tractor if everything was blocked up "perfectly". But more often closer to an hour as it never sits perfectly. I try not to take it off the tractor unless I just Have to use something else.
      With all that said, I live in the Ozark Mountains. There is a lot of rock in the ground here, and its the main reason I even bought this tractor was to have the backhoe. If I didn't have it, there would be a lot of work that I simply couldn't do. Wish I could have afforded a bigger tractor, but it is what it is.
      If the hoses to the pump were longer, so that the pump could be connected to the PTO sooner, then maybe that would make it easier to get it lined up and connected. IDK

    • @kingofbytes
      @kingofbytes 2 роки тому +1

      @@Yhrim70 Maybe that's the difference - I've got the one in the video - the KB2475L. It's really easy to hook up and take off. I've hooked it up after I had it off for a month where everything is slouched to the ground. Just back into it far enough to connect the hoses, manipulate the backhoe controls to level and send it home, put the pins in and you're done. Do you have a different backhoe?

  • @carlwelte6094
    @carlwelte6094 3 роки тому

    The backhoe on these Kioti's extends a FAR greater distance to the rear than the backhoe on almost every other tractor...likely due to the placement of the fuel tank. In fact, the distance from the center of the rear wheel to the center of the backhoe pivot pin is greater than the wheelbase of the tractor itself. If you are the kind of person who likes to leave the backhoe on the tractor on a daily basis, this will hurt maneuverability as well as storage, and create unnecessary stress on the backhoe mounting frame from the constant movement of the tractor. I have heard stories of these backhoe frames breaking, making for a VERY expensive repair. Just an observation.....
