This is a great side hustle, especially selling pine. It's abundant, cheap, and awesome for outdoor fires. To sappy for a woodstove or fire place if you ask me. I would charge more for hardwood though. Maybe $7 or $8/ bundle. Where I live, CT., a small bundle goes for $35! And they are smaller than what you are putting together. The location of your hope is gorgeous! What a setup. I'm envious of the privacy you all have.
Wow! Those are incredible prices! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching. We sure do love what we have built/are building here. My wife and I spent long hours building our home a few years back. We did as much as we could do in the time we had allotted to get the project done.
She’s got a great setup there! I am getting so much firewood built up just from the slabs off my mill. I have to get something setup to start selling soon!
Good job! Coming from someone who has sold produce at roadside for 15 years charge for your product. The cheapskates aren’t going to stop anyway so charge a price that’s worth your time but that’s just my opinion based on experience lol. Consistency is definitely the most important part people knowing your product is going to be there.
Got 2 thoughts for you on the fire wood being from out west. To start your prices are more than fair for the size of the bundles you are making far better than the small things you get at stores. My other thought is you could include a small piece of paper with a few survey questions about what people want. Oh also you mentioned the thing about pine being thought of as trash wood were you are and it is funny how different woods are like by different regions. We used to consider alder that way.
👍👍 that’s a really good price - at least in my area for that qty of wood. May want to find a local camp ground and see if you can strike up a deal with someone near it to put up a stand.
Thanks for sharing this. I'm contemplating switching to bundles from bags, and would use a machine with a hand crank. I'm very interested to see how you end up liking it overall and also how sales compare to bags
Awesome!! What brand is the bundler? How big are the bundles by cubic foot? I sell mine as 1.0cf so it’s smaller than 12”x12” since the wood length is at 16” those look huge! I’m same price also. The stores I have seen .90-1.25cf if they have labels on them.
This is the Amish Made "wood wrapper". Ya, that is 12x12x16. Not sure on cubic foot however. I know you had been waiting on this video. Thank you Mark!
Looks like a sweet little side job that produces money! Well done!
It is awesome because I have this little chainsaw habit!
You two do great. The wood shed is really nice looking amd looks like it holds a good amount of wood.
Have you seen that build video?
@@oakiewoodsman I have not. I will have to check it out. I would still like to put a wood shed out by the road
That bundler is a very nice setup
Love it for sure!
Nice job! Niche markets exist everywhere. Congratulations.
For sure!
Good morning. Happy Labor Day. Great day for some labor. Enjoy. Nazdravja!
Thank you sir!
She is doing great making quality bundlewood and large bundles. 👌
100%
Great job oakie mamma
Thank you friend!
The bundles do SEEM like the way to go over bags. Guess which ever way works best for y'all👍🏻
👊
I had no clue she was filling em that much until I made this video. We are going to be getting the details worked out!
Nice looking bundles, quality products speak for them self .
Thank you so much for that!
I think consistency is key for sure. When it comes to selling firewood
I think we need to keep that in mind. Thank you Mike
Great job Miss Oakie 👍👍. You could have Mr Oakie help you drag the wrapping machine over beside the wood pile to save you the wheel barrow trips?
😆 thought same thing
she wanted it there because it was a bit more flat. She moved it there with the boys.
@@oakiewoodsman what the boss wants the boss gets. guess it's on you to dump the wood closer to the wrapping machine now. hahahahaha
Hahahahaha. I just need to move the wood yard to a better location. We are talking about where to expand to. Thanks man! 😉

Good tip! Thank you very much!
Nice looking bundler I need to get mine built been wanting to get into bundles
Very cool to see what you come up with!
In Florida, I sell just about as much pine as oak. People like the smell and the poping and cracking. Yes, you should sell for about $7 a bundle
Thank you for the input!

Excellent Tips! I have made LOTS of cabinets out of alder back when I lived in Utah. Thank you for watching and making these excellent suggestions!
Just make sure you aren’t selling the bundles too cheap. It’s a lot of extra work.
Thank you sir. I am going to get her to "re paint" the sign. That is the only issue with the sign she came up with!

As we continually build up our inventory of seasoned wood, I certainly wanting to head the direction more and more

I do not think in our case we will be able to find a meaningful difference in terms of volume sold. Thanks for watching!
Your bundles are bigger than most of the nation's that sell for 5dollars. You could sell yours for 7dollars and not loose any sales.
We need to do some reevaluating I do believe. Thank you much!
Awesome!!

Those bundles should be $8 at least.
I think you are correct!
