  • Our cleaning and disinfecting Eleiko equipment guidelines give you tools to provide a cleaner and safer training environment while prolonging equipment life and ensuring optimal performance.
    Methods to clean
    There are two methods to address product cleaning, soap and water which focuses on removing dirt, grease and germs, and disinfecting which kills the germs on contact. Often a combination of these two methods is preferred to ensure a product that is both clean and germ-free.
    What to use
    Use a mild soap detergent to clean dirt and remove germs from product surfaces, ideally one that is non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and biodegradable. To clean a product, spray the detergent on a lint-free cloth and wipe down your equipment. Exercise caution around areas with greased or moving parts, such as bar sleeves. A soft bristle brush can be used to tackle areas that need additional attention.
    Select disinfectants that are free from o-phenylphenol (OPP) ammonia, bleach or alcohol, as these chemicals can damage product surfaces (including steel, chrome, rubber, polyurethane and synthetic leather surfaces) and cause product deterioration over time.
    How to clean an Eleiko bar
    Clean bars in a horizontal position to avoid cleaning fluid entering the sleeves.
    Brush the knurling/bar with the nylon brush included at time of purchase after each use to remove chalk or dirt.
    Apply a mild soap detergent to a lint-free cloth, then wipe down product taking care to avoid the area where the sleeve and bar shaft come together.
    It is safe to use an alcohol-based neutral pH7 solution on the bar steel/chrome finish.

      You should be able to get one from anywhere! Amazon or even a dollar store! Just look for a brush that is made of stiff nylon bristles. The eleiko brush isnt that different!

    Is it ok to store a bearing bar vertically?

    • @eleikosport
      @eleikosport  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Dhobby and thank you for your question!
      The sleeves hold an evenly applied amount of grease which creates a frictionless environment for the bearings to rotate. If the bar were to be stored vertically there is a slight chance that the grease wont be even within the sleeve and can therefore effect the spinn. We recommend to always store it horizontally for best performance!
