- Fixed this problem:
Got 2003 Toyota sienna as a trade? check engine light was on so after reading obd2 codes got p0500 code which is " vehicle speed sensor A". So bought a sensor and replaced it. Problem fixed.
Also similar procedure with most v6 3.0L Toyota motors. like toyota highlander.

Please help me bro I can’t find it on my 2000 toyota sienna xle and people say online this model doesn’t have a speed sensor
I can’t see it at the place you showed in the video
1998 toyota sienna le 3000 ...where is located the speed sensor please
I have the same exact code on 2007 sienna. I replaced both sensors and it still didn't work. Took it to 7 different mechanics and none of them knew how to fix it. It could be the wiring, I might take it to an electrician. idk what else to do anymore.
Any update?
@@JackMeyHoffer562 I traded the in and bought a new Camry , no mechanic knew what was wrong.
@@JackMeyHoffer562 I’m thinking it was some wire, but there’s so many wires 😂
The combination meter is usually the culprit
2013 Sienna where is it located? Thank you
My 2005 Sienna gave me a sustained P0500 code along with an ABS light.
I then replaced the battery (for another reason) and the code went away but the ABS light is still on.
Does anyone know what this could be?
Thanks for the video! Must have been hard working with only one hand and having the wind gust.
I have same problem. I removed ABS module which disabled speedometer but rough driving due to poor transmission shift. So I think speedometer is fed by ABS module which is connected to four wheel speed sensors. It is loose connection somewhere on some wheel speed sensor.
Mahadev hi I have 2003 sienna it’s doing the same thing yours is doing did you ever figure out the problem please let me know
@@elimarks718: I replaced the ABS ECU module, it works fine now. on ebay.com rebuilt ones are sold. match exact part number. ABS motor not replaced. Take Airfilter assembly out, then ABS module can be removed by removing 4 screws.
@@elimarks718 : I made sure no loose wheel sensors. Also the ABS ECU is malfunctionaling as per diagnostic procedures given in the repair manual and scan tool for ABS. The ABS modules is a culprit for me.
@@elimarks718 : I disconnected Motor 12v wire from/via Harness connector to disable ABS permanently. Speedometer worked. Randomly, then the speedometer was fluctuating even when car is stopped at walmart parking lot. Then I knew the ECU of ABS is broken for sure. So I replaced ECU of ABS, now I am good.
I replaced mine on a Sienna 2002 but still the speedometer not working with emergency brake and ABS lights ON. Code still read P0500
I got tus same problem too
Change ABS speed sensor
it is abs module
Thank you for the video and your help how to replace the speed sensor
I gotta a 98 Toyota Siena and can't find the odometer speed sensor.
What's part number?
Be aware: the 2000 model does not have a transmission speed sensor.
I looked for the damn thing for 2 days and nowhere to be found! 2000 Sienna CE. I guess the sensor is the same that goes for the ABS?
@@JohnElHanafi Yes, I've been looking and nothing. The dealership showed on the screen the location of the sensor, but it is not there in my Sienna. They missed something. www.toyotanation.com/threads/transmission-speed-sensor-location-just-shoot-me-already.1511586/
Donde yeba espid sensor toyota siena 2000 ce
2007 Toyota Corolla s..my speedometer still works but the vehicle rev out high wen I drive it . Code p0500 .and I had replaced the output sensor and same thing. Could I have gotten the wrong one?
Speedometer still not working doesn’t show the speed that you’re driving
I replaced the sensor, but still have the same code p0500, could you lease help. Thanks

Hi friend. Thanks for the video. Very comprehensive. A few questions...
1. Does this speed sensor also affect gear shifting for auto transmission.
2. Is the procedure thesame for 3.3 highlander 2007 model?
I own a 06/07 highlander which had an accident. After the accident, car can not shift gear, speedometer does not work at all.
The wires to the ABS sensor on the drivers side parted during the accident and was joined.
Which sensors could be faulty here. There is no scanner available to run a scan.
Thanks for your video
Nwanne I have same issue, have you rectified yours?
Is there a way of checking if the old sensor is actually bad?
I was thinking the same thing.
I think you can do continuity check.
But my own speed sensor is with wire,So how do I do it,
Thank to show us how to change but why is the reason biside the codes, please
Thank you so much for this along with some other videos I was able to replace my transmission speed sensor, and I have no clue about cars. Was a little rough getting air box in!!(another video)
Am trying so hard to find it on my Corolla altis pls help me
I think it should be on the front tire abs sensor
not the location on my 2001...........does anyone know WHERE it is on a 2001?
Did you find out where is the location? I have a 2001 also, many thanks.
Thanh Le did you find it?

Thank You So Much
Awesome video man. Thankyou!
Thanks.
hi can you tell me the part number so i can order it on ebay please and thankyou
Its visible. You don't need much effort. Just look on it. Its safe. There are a lot of models like ce le xle. So you can look it up. The numbers are big in font size.
205 cienna
on my car that sensor didn't fix it, It turned out to be the codes for the abs sensors i cleared them and the the speedometer worked because on a 3.0 liter v6 thats what it uses
What year is your toyota?
Nice vid !! Where'd u connect that OBD SCANNER to scan, into the cigarette outlet ?
If you think that, you're better off not trying to work on anything.
@@bLackmarketRadio 😂😂😂 " ingo the cigarette outlet " jesus I hope u seek a professional mechanic Team SLAIYANS
