Thank you so much for this along with some other videos I was able to replace my transmission speed sensor, and I have no clue about cars. Was a little rough getting air box in!!(another video)
My 2005 Sienna gave me a sustained P0500 code along with an ABS light. I then replaced the battery (for another reason) and the code went away but the ABS light is still on. Does anyone know what this could be?
I have the same exact code on 2007 sienna. I replaced both sensors and it still didn't work. Took it to 7 different mechanics and none of them knew how to fix it. It could be the wiring, I might take it to an electrician. idk what else to do anymore.
Good tutorial video I have 01 sienna with the same problem P0500 just replaced the sensor but the check engine light still on , any a ideas why still on. Thanks 🙏
2003, about to try again. There are *TWO* vehicle speed sensors on the transmission, an "A" and a "B" and it seems to very unclear which one is which. Lots of conflicting, or missing info when looking at videos and diagrams. I am hoping this guy got it right. I am guessing he thought he need to remove the battery because you have to do that to access the *other speed sensor.* I replaced the one further forward and had to remove the battery, but the P0500 and poor shifting came back in less than 10 minutes of driving. Next, I am going to try the top one as this guy did in this video.
@@jtirri8842wait what ???? Can you send me a link to buy the proper sensors ???? Did you fix your problem. My training is very erratic now and the speedometer quit all together.
2007 Toyota Corolla s..my speedometer still works but the vehicle rev out high wen I drive it . Code p0500 .and I had replaced the output sensor and same thing. Could I have gotten the wrong one?
I have same problem. I removed ABS module which disabled speedometer but rough driving due to poor transmission shift. So I think speedometer is fed by ABS module which is connected to four wheel speed sensors. It is loose connection somewhere on some wheel speed sensor.
@@elimarks718: I replaced the ABS ECU module, it works fine now. on ebay.com rebuilt ones are sold. match exact part number. ABS motor not replaced. Take Airfilter assembly out, then ABS module can be removed by removing 4 screws.
@@elimarks718 : I made sure no loose wheel sensors. Also the ABS ECU is malfunctionaling as per diagnostic procedures given in the repair manual and scan tool for ABS. The ABS modules is a culprit for me.
@@elimarks718 : I disconnected Motor 12v wire from/via Harness connector to disable ABS permanently. Speedometer worked. Hi friend. Thanks for the video. Very comprehensive. A few questions... 1. Does this speed sensor also affect gear shifting for auto transmission. 2. Is the procedure thesame for 3.3 highlander 2007 model? I own a 06/07 highlander which had an accident. After the accident, car can not shift gear, speedometer does not work at all. The wires to the ABS sensor on the drivers side parted during the accident and was joined. Which sensors could be faulty here. There is no scanner available to run a scan. Thanks for your video
So what was the outcome did the abs module fix the problem??? I also have an 02 sennia and this code. Yes e brake light on ✓ Abs light on ✓ Engine light ✓ Tire light ✓ Speedometer stopped working ✓ Transmission shifting erratic ✓ Replaced this sensor problem still 🤦🏻♀️ Soooo. The abs module is the one ?! Did it fix your problem??
@@JohnElHanafi Yes, I've been looking and nothing. The dealership showed on the screen the location of the sensor, but it is not there in my Sienna. They missed something. www.toyotanation.com/threads/transmission-speed-sensor-location-just-shoot-me-already.1511586/
Its visible. You don't need much effort. Just look on it. Its safe. There are a lot of models like ce le xle. So you can look it up. The numbers are big in font size.
on my car that sensor didn't fix it, It turned out to be the codes for the abs sensors i cleared them and the the speedometer worked because on a 3.0 liter v6 thats what it uses
Thanks for the video! Must have been hard working with only one hand and having the wind gust.
