The Kennedy Center is gearing up to present Lin-Manuel Miranda's In the Heights, running March 21-25 as a part of the inaugural season of Broadway Center Stage, a series of musicals in semistaged concerts. The all-star production will feature Vanessa Hudgens as Vanessa, with Ana Villafañe as Nina, and Anthony Ramos as Usnavi. I like how in this version, they had Vanessa dancing solo when all the guys were drooling over her because it kind of adds a new sense of independence to the character. She was like “I came to this club with someone and, if he doesn’t want to dance, I’ll dance on my own”

The club is an underrated song, it doesn't have a whole lot of singing but the dancing is phenomenal and has so much energy. And also Anthony was the perfect choice, hes young, thuggish and has a whole lot of energy and talent, so he can make you believe hes young and stupid, when in reality, hes young but really mature, kind and professional.

2) I can't take Anthony seriously in the role yet because he's so cool in my mind, and Usnavi is...well, dorky. He's suave and charismatic, don't get me wrong, but he's a little...the best word is dorky, can't describe it any other way.
