That was basically Alexander Hamilton in nutshell. Small, short-tempered, and fast spoken man on Washington cabinet. He was in all just a teenager in a adults body. But that's why we love that teenager 😂😂😂
Also, just found this out. When Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens dissed Charles Lee for sh!ttalking George Washington, Lee was 46, Laurens was around 24 and ranks lower than him in the army, but still challenged his 'superior' to a duel. Laurens was a gift to the world.
There was a Vanity Fair article about their relationship, and apparently it's true in real-life, too. Chris is the big brother and Lin is the little brother who (occasionally) listens. :)

ok so putting aside how absolutely wonderful this is, I can’t help but think how wonderful of an acting exercise this is. a lot of times you get swept into making sure that your singing is good that you forget you need to act still so getting ride of the music and speaking your liens lets you focus more on what your face and body should be doing in response and in harmony with what you’re saying and then you can apply that to when you’re singing. it’s kind of like the opposite of a sitzprobe.
Chris: Secretary Hamilton- Lin: Thomas that- Chris: Your response. Lin: *mentally* Oh right I forgot about that. Me: Dude, you wrote the lines shouldn't you know when to come in? Also just how Chris keeps a straight face but secretly wants to laugh while Lin can't hold it in and just smiles trying his hardest to keep in his laugh.
There are so many things that made me happy in this video, heck. Daveed desperately trying to rap, Christopher's lil sad face when tjeffs insults Ham, Jefferson taking care of Mads when he coughs, Lin trying not to rap then giving up, ah hah haaaa, Alex's sulky face when gwash stops him.. Ahh it'S ALL JUST SO GOOD
The fact that they're barely keeping it straight is a testament to Lin-Manuel's incredibly rhythmical writing. Try reading any bit from the play - the rhythm just takes over, proving he nailed his aim of giving Hamilton a heightened speech pattern, as Shakespeare did in his plays. For Lin-Manuel, the heightened speech is rap with a beat that's easier to pick up for us. And yes, Chris Jackson needs to play more presidential roles!
*hamilton:* watches his commander walk off, leaving a lingering sense of disappointment *hamilton:* gazes off in the direction from which he left, eyes sorrowful *hamilton:* takes an unsteady inhalation to say a few powerful last words, ones that will change everything for the better or the worse *lin:* gl w/ the lotto

1:46 I love that Daveed just turns around like,”You alright, man?”
DAVEED IS SO CUTE WHEN OAK COUGHS AND HE PATS HIS SHOULDER AND MOUTHS "Are you ok?"
ok so putting aside how absolutely wonderful this is, I can’t help but think how wonderful of an acting exercise this is. a lot of times you get swept into making sure that your singing is good that you forget you need to act still so getting ride of the music and speaking your liens lets you focus more on what your face and body should be doing in response and in harmony with what you’re saying and then you can apply that to when you’re singing. it’s kind of like the opposite of a sitzprobe.
Chris: Secretary Hamilton-
Lin: Thomas that-
Chris: Your response.
Xd
This has nothing to do with ur comment but I was the 666 like and I just feel proud of myself
Mylana Polite nope haha I got second hand embarrassment
"You don't have the votes, you don't have the votes "
Daveed: a hahahahaaaaa
There are so many things that made me happy in this video, heck.
Daveed desperately trying to rap, Christopher's lil sad face when tjeffs insults Ham, Jefferson taking care of Mads when he coughs, Lin trying not to rap then giving up, ah hah haaaa, Alex's sulky face when gwash stops him.. Ahh it'S ALL JUST SO GOOD
XD
2:01 I'M DEAD lin looks like a little boy rolling his eyes for getting in trouble😂😂
So I'm not the only one. No one is talking about this
I didn't even notice!!!!!
2:07
"ahahahaha"
-Daveed Diggs
MOVIE WITH THE ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST PLEASE
i would pay so much for that
Megan Nodal YES PLEASE!!!
YES YES YES YES
I heard the original cast did film it but I might be wrong
Nessa Naomi theyre filiming it rn
The fact that they're barely keeping it straight is a testament to Lin-Manuel's incredibly rhythmical writing. Try reading any bit from the play - the rhythm just takes over, proving he nailed his aim of giving Hamilton a heightened speech pattern, as Shakespeare did in his plays. For Lin-Manuel, the heightened speech is rap with a beat that's easier to pick up for us.
And yes, Chris Jackson needs to play more presidential roles!
2:06 that laugh is going to haunt me in my sleep paralysis for eternity
Lin's trying so hard not to laugh LOL
*hamilton:* watches his commander walk off, leaving a lingering sense of disappointment
*hamilton:* gazes off in the direction from which he left, eyes sorrowful
*hamilton:* takes an unsteady inhalation to say a few powerful last words, ones that will change everything for the better or the worse
*lin:* gl w/ the lotto
lmAo i'm deAD (and also alter ego ayeeeee)
It sounded like latta
DAVEED'S LAUGH (you don't have the votes, ahahha?) KILLS ME OMFGSHSHDS I LOVE THIS TOO MUCH!!
Daveed diggs with glasses looks like a friendly librarian.
Ha! Lin jumping the gun on his bit seems delightfully in-character, even if it was a mistake. :D
things about this video that give me life:
The laugh Daveed did
Lin almost smiling all throughout the video
and Lin not getting the memo to go SLOW
~AhAhahaaa?
Obama: Everyone must dress well and be formal. Or just wear something fancy.
Everyone: all the men are in suits and all the women are in dresses meanwhile
Lin: screw it. *puts on jeans, shirt, and a tie* FANCY (/°^°)/
Edit: it has been two years an I forgot I made this comment and I am cringing at my humor. But it's nice to see that 1.6k people liked it and made them laugh or smile. I feel accomplished. ùwú
And don't forget Anthony's trousers😂
XD
Honestly that is my fashion sense too lol
Very fancy
Well he is Hamilton.
Lin loves to use his left arm to express emotion lmao
I use my right to express emotion😂😂😂
My favorite thing is the way he says "Why he even brings the thunder."
He's so insulted. Like, YOU MADE HIM WASTE THE THUNDER. HOW COULD YOU.
+Deborah M.
Jefferson: YOU THREW OFF MY THUNDER!!!
Madison: I'm sorry but you've thrown Secretary Jefferson's thunder
Hamilton: I'M SORRYYYYYYYYYYY
+Sofia Cohen HAHAHA Best movie ever
Deborah M. Hands down FAV COMMENT 👌
*sassily waves finger like uh-uh gurl you did not just do that*
"Good luck with the lotto" LIN KILLS ME
I like how Lin talks faster than Daveed because Alexander is the "loud-mouth".
Also;
"Sir.. Good luck with the lotto." XD
Was that part at the end about the lotto an In the Heights reference?
No, it's about the ticket lottery. Ham 4 ham was a series of performances, and later videos when the lottery went digital, to entertain people waiting for the ticket lottery. Pretty much every performance/video ends with some form of "good luck with the lotto."
Christopher Jackson's acting with just his facial expressions is unbelievably good. Huge talent.
Imagine actual Washington, Hamilton, Jefferson and Madison ghosts step in the room where this happens 😂😂😂
Thảo Mạc That's making me sad, I love it
Thảo Mạc that's brilliant
"madison, who are these men? is that another hamilton. annoying."
“this version of me is realistic-”
Washington: I like that Chris Jackson.
Jefferson: I can't believe we're here with... him.
Hamilton: He seems... approachable?
Madison: Like you could grab a beer with him.
Jefferson: *disses Lin/Hamilton*
Lin: *Giddy smiles* I'm so proud...
Hamilton: My pen can turn into a shank at any time, you know.
the faint giggle after Lin says "Good luck with the lotto." is my new favorite thing because you have no idea who it is.
Lol at the fact that Daveed couldn’t help saying “Aha Ha Ha”
Me: *Watching this at 11pm on my iPad*
IPad: is at 1%
Me: STAY ALIVE!
*Ipad dies half way through the video*
Me: *Eliza scream*
Lmao it's 10pm here and thank goodness my phone is at 68%
"you don't have the votes ahaha"
so this is the room where it happens
Sheng Feliciano *I WANNA BE IN THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS*
Yes yes yes
Sheng Feliciano Burr is hiding under the couch
Lin: Whatever the hell you’re doing on Monticello
Daveed: *Immediately looks at oak*
Awww. Gotta love jeffmads
