I only disassembled the upper part of the joystick and placed a small folded piece of carboard. I used thin carboard from a box of pills. And it holded the Z-Axis Potentiometer firmly in its position.
You have to follow the instructions on the logitech profiler! Do exactly what it says, use the buttons on the sides for navigating to the next screen in the calibration process. I had a drift to the left pretty bad but if you let it calibrate it will set you true. You need to press the side buttons to tell it what to do when it says press a button on the controller. No hardware issues!
Thanks will try this, seems to be a bad design. I have a Logitech Freedom 2.4 which has largely the same internals but it's cordless and it has the same problem. Funny thing is that I have a t.16000m which is a much better joystick and is perfectly calibrated but not cordless and I play from the couch in my livingroom so I don't feel like rolling out extention cords.
I have this joystick and I like it I play SWG Legends but recently its twist function is moving by itself in space you twist the stick to rotate your ship but my ship is rotating without my hand on the stick is it possible to fix this
Mine has straight up play in z axis..i have to turn deadzone up to 70 to make it not read that…the stick itself wiggles to the right…so is mine defective?
very good ! where can I find these new sensors for that same joystich? there are 3 in all, because mine broke the side ball of the wrist sensor as soon as we opened it in the wrist that first sensor the vertical one broke. I'm looking for new sensors for it
Hello I fixed my flight stick with this video you may not need a new sensor. When putting the controller together make sure the left side lines up with the groove with sensor move it a bit to see if sensor tracks back and forth. I put it together three times till I had it right the sensor is just a post with a half circle on the end that fits in the slat in the joystick no ball. I hope this information is useful for you 👍👍😎
What is the name of the software you're using to check calibration so that I can download it because when I plugged in my HID it automatically installed the drivers but not the software.
Good Morning ! My name is Sérgio Ricardo I'm from Brazil and I bought this joy stick and for some time now it started to have problems with the accelerator and axles! I disassembled it I tried to clean it with sply clean contacts and the problem with the accelerator I couldn't leave as it is from the factory. and instead while the aircraft rudder tilts to the right side. having to unplug and plug in again for him to try to align, already installed the drive etc and the problem continues. I don't think to buy it anymore because I've seen it in another video that was already the second that a user had and this problem presented. in this way what can it be? Do you have any idea? thank you !
Hi! Well you could inspect the potentiometers and replace them if they are broken. Not sure how easy it is to get replacements for this joystick though. Goodluck!
A query have you had a problem, such as this joystick simply from one moment to another it has lost the factory settings, I have the same model but this has become completely erratic, it does not save the calibration and shows wrong sensor readings.
I opened the profile window and it shows it working fine but when I am using it in game (War Thunder, MSFS, etc) it has a tendency to make the aircraft move left. Even with full opposite deflection to the right. Could there be something else that I might be missing before having to open my Logitech.
piece o crap. I also have one like yours and point y axis, nose aircraft up. They advertise it as they are digital , when in fact the potentiometers are analog. wearing . tiny so you quickly go buy another one after domestic use.
@@TimsElectronicsLab Sure. Mainly because I do all my embedded stuff on FreeBSD, but also because embedded Linux has been hashed to death by the rPI people. With a bit of hyperbole, it is a solved problem (at least seen from here).
Yeah that is true! I feel like the raspberry pi is a little overrated at some times and that the knowledge of how a system like that works should not disappear.
I've got a very basic plan laying around already, so I'll make a proposal video on what the complete project will be very soon. Thanks for your honest answers

Thanks for the tip! I don't have any problems with the joystick, but if i do I'll try this out
Thank you so very much for this great video it helped me find the right placement of the rudder spring. You made my day saved 50 $ for a new one. 🍺👍👍😎
I'm glad I was able to help!🙂

i cant figure out how to let it calibrate though lol
Thanks man! Now i have a functional joystick again :D
No worries! Glad you found my video useful!
Thanks so much for the video I was able to fix my z Axis on a 3d extreme pro i got from my grandpa when i was a kid
Great to hear that you are able to use it again!
Thanks will try this, seems to be a bad design.

hello i still didnt understand how did u align ur axis
Just make sure that the little knob is in the center of the piece it slides in to. Then calibrate it in windows and you should be fine.
Mine has straight up play in z axis..i have to turn deadzone up to 70 to make it not read that…the stick itself wiggles to the right…so is mine defective?
I would say so, you might give replacing the potentiometer a try, but I don't have the part nunbers

I think it was called Logitech game profiler
I uninstalled the driver, then it reinstalled it after rebooting windows.

@@TimsElectronicsLab The problem is this! not have parts

You can try to clean the potentiometers and inspect the wiring that goes to them

I'm afraid you can't. Does the axis overview of the USB controller also show that movement?

That is correct. Cheap potentios wear out rather quickly 😂
Since you asked :-)
No interest in embedded Linux.
Thanks for your reply! Do you mind telling me why not?
