Well, I turn 70 next month and I can assure you that the older folks we know think that we are witnessing the biggest shitshow we have ever seen and we have seen a lot. Facts and reality matter and it is embarrassing that anyone would think that they are getting anything close to the truth if all they watch is MSM.

You find me someone that will give me all the facts good and bad without personal opinion or emotions clouding the story, every person on the planet has a bias so inherently the information they provide will lean into that bias. 30 years ago when I graduated high school and when I had a major accident, the paper got things way wrong on both counts. So just from a very personal experience a long time ago from a small local newspaper... Not good.
Like the newspaper that described a police officer as a 'local defective'. They meant 'detective' of course but, I often wonder. Also, a guy who lived in the same street as myself, also shared my name. He got jailed for stealing and reselling cars. Caused me a few difficult moments.
Same here. The article they had on me was small, and they still got stuff wrong --and they even took notes.
A personal experience of mine:
Way back when Dukakis was running, I went to an appearance in the downtown area.
To get in the very large area in front of the grandstand, people were screened by campaign workers with police backup.
Protesters where segregated to the furthest corner and roped in.
The area that had screened admissions was peppered with campaign workers who cheered on cue, applauded on cue and chanted on cue.
In essence it was staged and manipulated in order to deceive.
I watched local news that evening and none of that was mentioned. It was presented as a gigantic, unified love fest for Dukakis.
All part of their demonic Marxist NWO these bootlickers in our government have been ushering in for decades. Just ask Kissinger, he's been a member of the Bilderberg Group since the 50's.

I've worked in the electronic news gathering industry for the past 32 years, and as a whole, I give them a 3, as far as ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, NYT, MSNBC a 1. Fox is biased, but when you consider all the other outlets who lie and spout the SAME talking points, the average goes down because of their combined bias.

The interesting thing here is that many of these people watch different news sources and have different levels of trust. But come to similar conclusions about the problems in media.

Great interview. You got a lot of different perspectives on this, with the general consensus that the media is less trustworthy than it used to be. It's always had a slant and biases, but now it's out of control, or, I should say, in control by political interests.

Keep in mind, the same is true for all media, including the ones you prefer to watch. Know the story of the other side. Know why you believe what you believe and why not
The truth is not about knowing the story on both sides because both may be lying. Jesus, for example, was truthfull while not translating devil's point of view. Typical example of one sided truth. Devil, on the other side, always lies so it makes no sense to listen to him.

A person's opinion is based upon what media they listen to or expose themselves to. To them, "mainstream" media means something different than what your definition is. Also, there ARE some channels that are clearly one-sided views. An objective person knows the difference. Many know, but believe in what those one-sided media channels say. On another not, it's interesting for me how many people think about this topic. Young America's Foundation, thank you for sharing this with us.
I don't quite agree with your opening statement. I believe the media that people listen to is based on their presuppositions. What they believe about the world is then reinforced by what media they watch. They already have their beliefs.

Hence through this conditioning there was no need to question this source of information and realising this source has become unreliable is a very hard process many do not consider.

Actually... I'd be concerned if news met with 100% of how I view it... And some people literally said the reason they dont trust it is because they "know" what happened and the news says things that don't match with what they "know". I don't trust media but it's not because they disagree with me... It's that they put so much opinion in it to begin with, regardless who it is. Sometimes when listening, I feel like they're trying to make us all angry at each other.

I would give the MSM a -10! As a police officer of almost twenty years the MSM will either make something up or guess as to what happened. And if they’re given a small portion of information from us about an incident, they will completely twist the info they were given; making what they tell their viewers completely wrong or way over exaggerated! I was on a crime scene one night and our Chief gave the only news reporter that showed up a “cliff notes” version of what happened (aka- giving them the bare bones, so that it doesn’t tamper with the investigation) It was either that night or the morning after that I saw the story on the news channel that my Chief gave a statement to; it was completely wrong!! The only thing that they reported correctly was the victims name! They can’t be trusted, there’s only maybe 2-3 news channels that can be trusted to tell the truth no matter how it makes people feel or if it goes against their beliefs or what political party/person they support.
