Car guys don't like electric cars and that's a problem for sales. No one needs a sports car, they want them.
The sell them on acceleration. Electric cars beat them. There are electric sports cars like Rimac, Yangwang U9 and MG cyberster!
@@bubuneowoo6161 my 2021 Audi RS5 coupe does 0-60 in 2.74 seconds and the 1/4 in 10.88@127mph ***ON THE STREET*** (via Dragy) with just a stage 2 E85 tune. The car's original MSRP + mods (none of which voided the warranty), come in at about $95k putting it in the same price category as the MG - which is slower than my Audi in every regard despite both cars weighing almost the same. Lol
Nobody should be forced to buy an electric cars. If people like electric cars that’s fine but don’t force me to get it because I have too
They spent 100000 dollars on electric shit for saving 50 dollars per week in petrol.
Let people buy whatever makes them happy, I say.

That's in-group signaling. Position signaling to in-groups via methods of propulsion is silly. EVs are in their infancy and will obviously make petrol engines irrelevant within 10 years.
I only drive Miatas, and motorcycles. All are comparatively cheap and fun AF.
Miatas are like fat chicks. They may be fun but you don't want to let your friends know.
The sweetest sound in the world is a boxer 6, a v8 or a v12 repeated sweeping towards the redline as you go up and down thru the gears! They make you feel alive!

The best of both worlds is where it's at: hybrid performance. ICE with electric engine assist. Think the new NSX, C8 e-ray, even the newer Italian hypercars.

Don't forget that the highest EMF radiation hotspot in most EV Vehicles is right underneath the driver seat...

All one needs to do is look to California, ROLLING BLACK OUTS, how do you charge your car and go anywhere?
Then there is the BATTERY problems and issues. EXPENSIVE, and been known to go up in flames on occasion.
ICE has certain Vibrations, and Sounds that you just can NOT replace, let alone Replicate properly or efficiently.
I agree with some of the points RC says, but not with others.
Rolling blackouts are a Texas thing. California buys it from out of state, to meet demand. The electrical grid from out of state suppliers is vast and robust.
@johncostello2948 I live in SOCAL do have rolling blackouts what are you living in the moon? CA and local legislaters have a time slot specific for EVs because our infrastructure can't handle AC + EVs.
I like both combustion and electric vehicles. I recently bought a Tesla and it’s fun to drive. There are definitely downfalls, especially with charging time, but with a 240v charger at home it’s not really an issue. EVs will keep getting better no doubt, but they will never replace the feel, sound, smell, etc. of combustion vehicles. Why not experience both?
Anytime I am in my Ferraris, I always get buzzed by a Tesla Plaid... I pay them no attention.

You can tell they have no actual interest in cars, as they always refer to 0-60 as if that is what make you a car enthusiast. The feeling you get when you drive twisty roads in a Ferrari is totally different thing. I daily my '68 911, 3.2 Carrera engine hotrod. Drive the hell out of it in the mountains on weekends. Just doing my bit to help rid the world of evil fossil fuels faster.

I like both. The EV models at this point don't have the history and model variation to compete with ICE.
The early EV's were over-hyped, the politicians were ignorant, arrogant, over-bearing, and didn't do the math. So, now there's an over-correction and a tsunami of hatred towards EV's. If you don't like them, or if the various costs outweigh the various benefits, don't buy one. They aren't for everyone. Meanwhile, cars like the Lucid Air Sapphire, even if they're only luxuries for the rich, are simply _amazing_ cars. It's a shame so few enthusiasts appreciate them for what they _are_ rather than for what, to many people, they've come to represent.

My current and previous cars have been all electric. I'm a cool dude. 😎
But for real, an electric car for me right now makes the most sense. Cheap to operate and low maintenance. I also have easy access to a plug in my driveway. Plus I live in Chicago, which is laid out in a grid pattern. There's no fun, twisty, hilly roads near me. A sports car is useless in stop and go traffic.
I'm sure these are the same arguments that people were making in 1900 about how soulless the automobile was while they were riding their horses around for transportation
Horses have more "soul" than automobiles.
Discussions of ICE cars vs. EVs are pretty silly. There are so many things over which people can compare their personal hobbies, fetishes, interests, goals, outward appearance, etc. There is literally no point.
In-group signaling over means of propulsion and where things stand within a very narrow window of time is nonsensical. EVs are in their infancy. They haven't been around for even one human generation.
These same never-ending discussions happen in multiple domains: vs. Analog. East Coast (something) vs. West Coast (something). 2-stroke vs 4-stroke. Ford v. Chevy, and so forth; utterly dull.
The GOOD news is that all of these miraculous machines are available to everyone at the same time. We are spoilt for choice and argue over frivolities. There is no incongruence in owning a Model X and muscle car.

EV’s may have a great 0 to 60 mph time but that’s about it. Top end they are slower than a 2.0 diesel. They handle like boats. EV’s lack soul and passion. But whatever you like but don’t ram milk floats down our throats. Let us car guys enjoy automotive works of art that are the ICE cars. Can’t wait for synthetic fuels to become mainstream either 😊
EV's are not selling well in the USA. Nor can our power grid handle it. The batteries can cost many thousands. If they catch on fire, it is almost impossible to put it out and they are heavy and need much more expensive tires. I think it is a big failure.
Now cite the positive attributes and not only the confirming stuff that you read elsewhere.
I've been seeing so many great Porsche cars, specifically the Taycan....Until I also see it's a shitty electric. What a real shame. Imagine having money to buy a nice Porsche or a nice car in general, you pop into the dealership to purchase one and you decide you want to shop at the electrics section....
Edit: I believe Toyota and Ford actually stopped the production of electric vehicles which was great news because the garbage market for them is dying.

I like driving my Model Y Performance that has utility, hauls my mnt bikes, fits my kids, has no maintenance and blows the doors off of 99% of the cars on the road. Checks all the boxes I need. May try the 2’d gen Rivians in a year or two,
I take my 13mpg truck on my offroading and outdoors adventures to offset my EV. 😂

gave up on ford new truck quality. lost about 20k in 1month ownership of an 2022 f150 with dead batteries.
funny thing is right after I bought my tesla they dropped prices. Life goes on.
The same enthusiasm you have for the engine others have for the power electronics and electric motor. EVs are for mass production and mass adoption to have a sustainable future. They are not going to replace gas muscle cars because it’s like saying a man can be a woman. They are for different purpose. This video lowered your Alpha score in my book. You’re just acting the victim and lamenting the future.
