Hi Greg and Jenny loved all your videos.Just moved from Doha,Qatar to here in Hull.I find it a little bit different when playing lub badminton here than in the middle east maybe that could help as a topic for players like me coming from diffrent social playing. I also would like to ask if youre looking for a video editor I would like to audition for that if you have an opening.Thank you so much much and more power to both of you and your channel💯
LOVE this!!! Playing yesterday, I remember telling myself to remain at the net as the "nervous net player" for sure, especially when my partner's rotation on the court was unpredictable and they have difficulty covering the whole back court. Absolutely, the repeated returns too. I have been using your page as my go-to for improvement since Autumn of 2023, after having not played for 20 years. I could not be where I am today without you. Big love to you both! Thanks so much G and J!
Ah that’s amazing to hear! Thank you very much for sharing 😃 We also keep calling each other out on them - Jenny was a ‘middle migrator’ in a recent tournament haha
I can’t believe I just found this channel. You two are such an amazing duo, educating people all over the world while still trying to improve your plays and techniques. Much love and support, Greg and Jenny! ❤
Hi Greg and Jenny! I've just binge watched your videos for the past 2 hours; I must say that you are both great at sharing advice whilst acknowledging and improving your own mistakes. You guys serve as a great role role model for me and for sure, many others. Love from New Zealand and the Philippines!
the way you demonstrated 'the nervous net player' @5:09 is that greg is deep in the left corner (his forehand side) and jen steps back as he makes a straight shot to mid-court. in mixed doubles, greg would not expect to follow the shuttle to the net here and leave his female partner handling the rear court. but in men's doubles in jen's position i would indeed consider taking a step back here, not because i have not hit the shuttle in a while and am nervous, but because it will be much better for me to attack a reply to the right corner than for my partner to cross the entire width of the court to his backhand corner. of course, greg can do that, but in men's doubles his partner can do it better, and while this is optional in this situation, it becomes obligatory if greg is just a little bit forward of the rear corner. in men's doubles, greg would be aware of this and the smallest movement by his partner backward would be his invitation to follow the shuttle to the net, which he can do very effectively if he knows it's coming in general, men's doubles favors constant fast and fluid rotation, so any chance you get to follow your shot to the net should be taken without hesitation. if i make that shot greg made from the corner and i have a male partner who is not in my way, my movement toward the net will begin as i am striking the shuttle, and i will be all over that net reply with energy that is coming forward
The efforts put in by you guys are amazing 👏👏👏. the whistling action at 7:04😂 is just too good. Hope this video and your channel reaches to much wider audience. Keep doing what you do❤
another FANTASTIC video from Greg & Jenny! just banger content that truly helps the badminton community. I hope more people get to try your training sessions soon!
I am a big fan of yours. Always enjoy your tutorials. Really hope to see you guys do a street challenge series video in Taiwan similar to the one you did in Malaysia.❤
Thank you for this video. I've been struggling on my position as a doubles player for a long time. Unsure where to be at, whether or not I should move back/stay at net, moving to the center of the front court in hopes to cover both sides & staying only at the center half of my side after a lift. Will definitely refer back to this video before & after every badminton session I had from now on.
detached defenders is a tricky one, I am a left hander and I usually play with a right hander so on paper it might seem that the left-right combo can help reduce this issue but I have encountered this a fair bit of time. Thanks for the resolution on this, will try to do some simulation practices as suggested.
Great video as always. I have a video request, if you take them - how to practice badminton on your own WITH shuttles to practice technical things. For example, booking yourself a squash court (for the wall access) or badminton court but no partner to feed you. ( Is self-feeding possible? How? Is it actually useful or not?) I've tried and failed to find practice partners but it's so much faff in your 30s trying to organise unless you happen to find someone equally as committed or with enough time. Lots of people have busy lives and would rather play for fun than train, with the limited time they have. Shuttle feeders are of course far too expensive. But I really want to be able to work on technical things on my own and be able to do this once or twice a week without relying on anyone! Cheers!
Thank you for this video ! Some advices seem obvious after hearing ! I ll try to keep it on mind for my next session. Good luck for artic open and following tournament !
I played zonal school level tournaments and watched your videos just before going to the tournament. It really helps to improve my playing style, accuracy, footwork and power. you guys are doing a great job. keep it up. also please recommend a even balanced badminton racket for amateurs please.
Thanks so much this helped a lot for me. (I am trying out for my school team and Because of this I’ve won all my games so far!) keep up the good work! 😇
I realise I'm nitpicking slightly here, but I think this is a distinction worth clarifying: These are all tactical mistakes, not strategic mistakes. A simple way to think about it is that tactics are how you win the battle (play a good shot), whereas strategy is how you win the war (win the point/match). FWIW, I think there's potentially a lot of untapped content for you in discussing the more strategic elements of the game, such as how to choose a gameplan or using shot selection to condition your opponent in a certain way (especially with serves). In my experience, you can really tell the difference between players who have a good strategic understanding and those who don't, as those who do are able to force the game to be played in a way that suits them, whereas those who don't are more prone to exposing their own weaknesses, and are unable to utilise their own strengths effectively. Hopefully that made some sense, love the videos!
Really great points, I like this line of thinking. I agree it would be amazing to see content about how to form an effective strategy against different types of players, especially in mens doubles!
Makes a lot of sense. The Winning Strategies is to Develope personal Skills n ( use them), & MakeTactical decisions by Applying them against ur Opponents. [ point by point or sets of points in Mind]. Good Luck.
Communication is also good for positioning, I use to called my partner with a SWITCH to change from back to front court, also a good trick for better level players to get the control of the game.
hey, could you make a video on how to play and adaot yourself to badminton tempos? I've been struggling to follow my opponent when they change the speed of the game mid-rally.
hi sorry for asking this, can you guys also make the same video but this time for lefty and righty doubles partner? as in common strategy mistake when 1st player is left hand and 2nd player is right hand

Hey love your content just a request I am a singles player but I am loosing a lot of matches where I was leading 17-15 or even tight matches like 18-18 Can you pls make a video on what to do in these situations
Any tips how to avoid being nervous in trainings? Like I was the only player on our team that was left behind because I lost my confident playing causing me to underperform every drills or when we're playing. Please let me know what should I do, I really wanna improve and avoid being nervous.Thank you!!
I shared this video. Still my partner kept on leaving the tramlines open after lifting. Ran back to the middle to intercept my shots & when it was his shot to take it, he left it. During every game he high served evey point. Also expecting me to run from the rear court to get to the net.
I'm participating in a beginner tournament but because thier weren't enough participants they are going to make u17 and u19 one big tournament. And I'm 15 and was supposed to play my first u17. Any tips for versusing these stronger more experienced players (in singles)?
Hi Guys, been a recent subscriber to your channel.l, and love the content. I have recently started playing after a 7 year break due to a knee injury, I have been trying out rackets and bought the yonex nanoflare 1000z. I started playing with a club which plays with feathers which I used to before and found the I could not get the power out of my shots as I could before and also my arm stared hurting alot, near the bicep area. Then I played in another club where they were playing with plastics, and all my shots were great my smash came back, all my drops were perfect and drives too, also no pain This has really confused me, as I thought playing with feather should be easier. Don't know if you guys can shed some light on the matter? Would be much appreciated. Thanks Ajay

Just had our first league game of the season. Won mixed doubles but struggling with my women’s doubles partner. Unfortunately she only wants to play sides and she doesnt rotate at all. What’s the best way for myself to adjust or politely tell her that we need to rotate? Scenario one: She won’t let me rotate to the back and take my forehand shot vs her backhand overhead. Scenario two: If I’m smashing, she stays far back on her side Scenario three: If I’m in the net she stays on her side. I really don’t know what to do with this scenario and don’t want to ask to move division (lower) to avoid playing with her.😢

The nickname of the mistake is a really great idea! It way easier to learn and remember the strategy by remembering the nickname. 10/10 on this one.

Hi Guys, been a recent subscriber to your channel.l, and love the content. I have recently started playing after a 7 year break due to a knee injury, I have been trying out rackets and bought the yonex nanoflare 1000z. Where can we get the shirt that Jenny is wearing in this video?
badminton is very situational sport, especially on high level, there is no more textbook. it depends on your play style as a pair.
Just here to like and comment.
Scenario two: If I’m smashing, she stays far back on her side
Scenario three: If I’m in the net she stays on her side.
I really don’t know what to do with this scenario and don’t want to ask to move division (lower) to avoid playing with her.😢
Can someone please tell me where I can get a court in london to play at that includes rackets if there is any
