Whatever people are saying this song is the closest to the old, first age HIM songs, its so good to listen to their true sound once again..
I'm not sure what you refer to as "first age", but that would be Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666, and nope, it sounded nothing like this, it was more raw and "dark", if I may say. But each to their own:)

Check out the whole EP at some point, there's only 3 songs including this one. My favorite of them right now is Saturnate Saturnalia, it's damn beautiful. It has a nice riff too, reminded of W.L.S.T.D from Tears on Tape a bit.

Yeah he did. He had a lot of free time during the pandemic and went crazy with music.
His music is one good thing to come out of that mess.

I was actually thinking before that you hate HIM because you never reacted to them. Ville Valo released a 3 song mini EP, and yes they very radio friendly songs. On the Finnish radio they mostly play Salute the Sanguine
which I think is a better song but all three are good.
Personally I find this reaction / review perfect, everything you say confirm my opinion.....Really appreciate

Nothing new so far, still waiting for vol.2 :)) Ville said sometime before releasing these new songs, that if he will ever come out with a new project, it will be more mellow, because that's what he likes now, with getting older and after putting H.I.M. "to rest". So it wasn't to my surprise that these songs were a bit softer. Maybe I'm getting old too, but I like them:)) The other two songs deserve a review also, in fact, I like them a bit more than this one.
Hello!! You know☝️.. as soon I saw the logo of this band on your thumbnail I was thinking about HIM and the name of the band/artist confirmed my fears🙄... OH NO!! He's back with some solo-project!!! It's not THAT long since HIM split and here we go again😬😬.. like I have said, I'm definetily not the biggest fan of them or Ville Valo in general!! I mean they had few listenable song but NOTHING so special to me and to listen a full album.... Yeah🤔...
Anyway, let's talk about this song instead and don't let the history inflence our thoughts now😂!!
This song was okay to listen and it has its moments if you happen to like the style like this! Nice instrumentation and well produced... but to me this was very dull and I have to say that this didn't move me a bit😌... this was very neutral song which I can listen and I didn't hate it, or didn't like it either🤔... It just WAS😅.. Basically just sounded like HIM with calmer instrumentation and I guess it is difficult to get rid of that stamp after 20 years (or so) of making these "lovemetal-pop-rock" songs😅...
Ville has good voice, not denying that but there is something that doesn't please me and all those falsets ALL THE TIME annoys me personally😬...
Okay, a bit negative again😂.. but not just my cup of tea😅
