I got a Canon AE-1 back in 1995 for Christmas from my parents. It was tucked away in the camera bag for over 10 years. Last year I cleaned it up, replaced the light seals and battery and have shot several rolls of film on it. I forgot how much I love the look of film photos.

My last two camera purchases were a Zorki 4 (Leica style) rangefinder from the 50's, and this week I got the Nikon Z6III. (yes, I have a problem). I made my own view finder for the Zorki from a disposable film camera I found in a kitchen drawer. I attached that to a TTArtisans hot shoe light meter. I pick up my first roll of film from that camera tomorrow.

Nikon FM2n, Canon AE1p, a couple Olympus XA2's - so small and compact, it's the first camera I bought myself as a kid with my hay hauling money, Olympus XA4, Contax T2, Kodak Brownie Bullet, and a Polaroid One Step. All work and I've been using them sporadically. I was on a quest to find versions of every camera I'd owned up to going digital in the summer of 2000 with the Canon D30. (Which I just bought from KEH just for fun) Non-usable shelf display cameras that are pretty much impossible to find film for that I still have are a Polaroid Land 360, Kodak Disc 4100, Kodak Instamatic 100. The only thing I'm still missing is a Hasselblad 500cm, and a Rolleiflex that I don't recall the model of. I've got a digital back that will fit on the Hasselblad, so kinda keeping an eye out for one. The Rollei's are also kinda pricey, but I found a bargain on one of the new Mint TLR cameras that shoots Instax film so I can sort of scratch that itch lol. There's a company in Europe that is making film for the Land cameras, but it's something like $40 per shot, and you have to assemble the cartridge yourself. Maybe someday. Enjoyed to video, you should post some of the best film shots you've made sometime.

My film cameras are a reminder of the past and they stay in my « museum of me » haha! I have several, Nikon F3HP, Hasselblad 500cm, 4X5 Speed Graphics, Yashica GTN and my prized Leica DBP (similar to IIIg) /50mm F2.8 Elmar (collapsible). My son gets more use out of the film cameras then I do. Great collection you have. Like you I started with Kodak Istamatic, in College (1979) it was the Pentax K500. Now a days it’s all digital for me, Leica SL2, M10-R. Cheers from Canada.

I used the Miranda Sensorex for many years it's built like a tank. Bought it in Germany in 1971. Took out last year and shoot a roll of film works great yet. Using a Nikon D3200 now.

My first SLR was Minolta XG-9 so I had to buy one again when I got back into digital photography. Then i added Nikon FE2, Canon model 7, Leica CL, Yashica Mat-124G, Mamiya 645 1000s, and last one is a Canon EOS Elan 7E. Of the SLR’s I think the Nikon FE2 is my favorite. I like the small rangefinder Leica CL for something small enough to take anywhere. Of the medium format I like the 645 1000s and I like medium format better then 35mm. Some day I could see myself owning a Hasselblad 500.

Great collection and overview of their different uses. My son currently shoots on two 35mm Minoltas as well as a TLR. I do have my Olympus Stylus Epic 80. Recently started down the rabbit hole of the Lecia Minliux, so may pick one up.

I also have a Kodak Instamatic X-15. The Film Photography Project sells cartridges to adapt 35mm to it since 126mm is not currently being made.

The Nikon N65 was the first interchangeable lens camera I bought. I ended up trading it in to get my D750 a few years ago.

I probably have too many film cameras but this year I'm running the Nikon F4. I know a lot of folks don't care for a heavy camera that sounds like a typewriter, but I love using it.

Thank you for the wonderful video!! I have an FM3a and three Ai-s lenses, plus I have been eyeing an F6 for many, many years. There might be an F6 in my near future 🙂

I would say the F5 is one of the most significant film cameras ever made, the F6 cannot get that title because the shift to digital was significantly underway. Nikon knew it was a token release, like the D6.

The problem with KEH is that they only serve the popular camera brands in their shop, ... you might be able to ask them for a specific camera brand or model. But if this camera brand or model is not familiar, you can't search for it.
Let's take popular camera models as examples, which are appreciated by connoisseurs but often fly under the radar:
    Ricoh Singlex TLS
    Ricoh XR-1
    Ricoh XR-1s
    Cosina Hi-Lite
    Cosina Hi-Lite 405
    Cosina CT-1super
    Chinon CM-4s
    Praktica LLC
    Praktica LTL2
    etc.
And these are just a few examples. So for my part, I say that perhaps you should also look beyond the usual brands and models, otherwise you might miss out on an "underdog" camera that suits you perfectly.
For my part, I have found the following cameras, for example:
    - Sigma Mark 1 (a modified replica of the Ricoh Singlex TLS based on the original blueprints of the Ricoh Singlex TLS, where the blueprints were bought directly from Ricoh and the very first camera Sigma ever brought to market, 9 years after Ricoh released the Singlex TLS)
    - Revue SC3 (export model of the Chinon CM-4s mentioned above)
    - Universa Interflex TL (additional export model of a Cosina Hi-Lite modified by Universa)
Praktica VLC2 (a good, robust and inexpensive alternative to Nikon F2 or F3, to the Canon F-1 models, to the Pentax LX etc.)
The old favourites from Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Minolta, Olympus or Leica have been covered in so many videos, especially as camera combinations.
Perhaps more interesting underdogs should also make their appearance here, which would really be a surprisingly high-quality alternative.

Leigh my first film camera was a Pentax ME super (purchased the camera while on my honeymoon in 1980). My Pentax broke and purchased a Minolta Maximum 5000i film camera, that also broke. I will not continue with my camera purchasing saga. Today I own a Nikon Z50 with both kit lenses (great travel camera). BTW Leigh I own a smc Pentax-M 50mm 1.7 that I used with my Pentax ME. I have no use for it, so if you want it for your collect (no charge, just pay shipping) you can have it. If your interested I can send you pictures of the lens. What email should I use to send the pictures.

Some nice cameras here, it's just a shame that a roll of quality film, getting it developed and scanned will cost over $100. Only film I shoot these days is instant.
