We use Bare-Co PTO guards at work. About $90 AUD each for a 1500mm long large shaft model, so about 40-50 quid for you guys. They get chewed up regularly and you can buy all the parts separately. Get lots of clips as they seem to break regularly and the only cost a couple of bucks each.
Nice work on the topping Josh their doing some job on the bull shed won't be long before it ready for them Nice to see the calves How is the one you had to treat hope his ok Really enjoyed the video as always looking forward to the next one
There is a 60% grant going for PTO guards here in Ireland until the end of the month as part of national farm safety measures along with Quad helmets. There is new rules coming into force here in November for mandatory training for all operators of quad bikes /atv’s aswell as the wearing of PPE. A 1.5m PTO guard is around €75 - €90 (depending on diameter size) here which conforms to the latest regs.
Interesting video josh with great content. Got to say, one of my pet hates is the ignorance by choice, by some, for safety on farms! Whilst I agree that some safety items particularly consumable items like PTO Guards can be over priced, there can never be any excuse by any farmer or employee for disregarding these items. As having been involved in farming for a good part of my life and also when as a plant engineer, farmers are the real problem, as they can be as tight as a ducks Ass on equipment maintenance. For some maintenance means only changing the oils and filters and doing repairs when the kit breakdown, which is not how proper preventative maintenance works. Anyway I'll get off my soap box now. Shed is looking good too.
@@nigelgribble8736 I totally agree that Farmers should be paid the proper price, however it is still no excuse for not operating safely and maintaining equipment that they expect their employees to operate.
I agree that as an industry we can be a bit lapse on maintenance, the greasing and daily checks etc. I personally don’t understand the cost of the shaft covers, it’s ridiculous. No excuse though not to have one!
New Bull shed coming on nicely Josh
Have good weekend
🤙🤙👍👍
It’s getting there! Thanks!
Well done Josh, a bit of everything today
Thanks Toni!

@@JMFarming 👍
When we put beans in we spin them on with fert box then plough and press them in works a treat
We don’t want to plough if we can help it as we lose so much soil through run off. But have heard many people use that method
@@JMFarming good point we had a bit this autumn with some herbage seed ground I ploughed

If we were paid the proper price for our products we wouldn't have to control every penny spent!!!

How’s the start to your football season gone so far?
I've had to hang up my boots! I kept getting concussions after a nasty head clash last season.
You surely don’t want a stale seedbed?
I want to clean up as much of the volunteers and grass weeds as I can before drilling
@@JMFarming oh Sterile 🤗
