this video is fantastic man. you took the words right out of my mouth with all your points, most importantly i dont think i realized until watching this video how thin the ice was that capcom was standing on. the truth is this was probably the game that decided the fate of capcom fighting games and they actually did a fantastic job and probably saved the entire series as a whole. im so glad we live in this timeline
I think what had to have happened in order for us to get to this point is that people had to have been let go. What happens in many companies is that when some are working there for some time, for whatever reason they either lose passion for their work or they get high off their own farts. I'm not sure which category Yosinori Ono fits in but I've notice Street Fighter 5 betting better and gaining more players after he left.

We are in the same boat l am just now getting in to street fighter 5 just to play streets 6 l played tekken and dbz fighting games all my childhood but l am trying playing other fighting games l didn't like street fighter as a kid because l thought that the characters were kind of boring...and l still do l actually love the third strike new comers more than the world warriors l wish that they were in most of the games especially sean he is my favorite street fighter character l will start playing strive at some point l always wanted to play guilty gear the character designs in that game fucks l am also interasted in project L l always wanted a league of legends fighting game l'm going to be a vi and samira main a boxer and female dante sounds perfect (l hope we will get some news at evo)

I can agree, but I personally don't like putting the blame for a rough spot on, say, one influential person or team of people.
The biggest improvement to SFV came with Arcade Edition, while Ono was still at the helm. Every improvement after that has its precedence in AE.
