Holocure is evidence that you don't need to make an incredibly in-depth game for people to play it. Even if it's simple and basic to play, if it's fun, I'll play the game. And Jesus Christ the hard stages are actually hell, even though i can consistently beat them

I'm playing this game solely because I-No's design is just so fucking PEAK.

I have to say though, despite at first appearing to have the generic personality of a brash shonen protagonist he looks like, sol is a character that I love personality wise. he's very intelligent, but he prefers to be reckless and not worry too much about stuff, he also does stuff for the hell of it and because he likes instead of being the logical or optimal choice. he's actually a pretty good subversion of the trope

This is an amazing video! I'm so happy to have someone else who was in my exact situation. I jumped the ship at smash ultimate because it didn't give me what I wanted from my Smash 4 days. I ended up discovering Under Night In-Birth (my beloved) around that time which led me into getting my fill of traditional fighting games then, now, and probably into the future, and I couldn't get into the platform fighter genre again until this game rolled around. Rivals of Aether 2 is not a perfect game, it's taking forays into the genre that no one else has, and it'll take some time for the devs and the players to figure everything out. But it's what I wanted for so long: a game that was designed to be played competently.

Wow, crazy how little views this video has considering its quality, anyway, as a guy thats been playing monster hunter for a while, its definitely about exploration as well. Monster hunter rise, the game you played, actually cut down the exploration part considerably because it was made for the switch and wanted to go for a more arcadey feel. The main line games, aka world, 4 ultimate, and now wilds, encourage exploration HEAVILY. There are many MANY traps, endemic life, resources, etc that you can find and lure monsters to in order to gain the upper hand. Great video though

Didn't become a fan till i was nearly 15, 10 months ago. I grew up without watching wrestling and never gave it a thought, but then i decided to check out this years royal rumble, and boom i was hooked. The thing to me with starting at the rumble it just makes so much sense, it starts the road to wrestlemania. And it helps you get introduced to most of the roster you'll follow for the next months. You can understand certain characters and figure out allies right away. And in my opinion its just very efficient to start off. Hence why I'm still hooked.

I first got into it during the build to the 2020 Royal Rumble and I cant put it into words the amount of sorrow and sadness I felt when I saw the WWE Network only had RAW and SmackDown from 1 month prior, I either had to buy Hulu to watch it or watch the highlights on their YT channel, where im from no public access TV channel runs WWE. I wish we had an alternative that wasnt so archaic as having to tune in to a specific TV channel on X day at X time. I guess the Netflix deal will solve that.

9:55 That's my exact reaction. I followed Kay on Twitter back when he still posted cute (and mildly lewd) arts of his OCs before he completely blew up with the Holo stuffs. Never realized he was a professional animator that worked multiple high profile games and animes.

If you like the creativity of fanmade games, you really should check out Touhou Project. It has the largest fandom in the doujin scene and a dedicated fighting games community til this day.

8:23 i stand by the idea that calling a game addicting is not a compliment. You can get addicted to a bag of rocks. Rather, it has a lot of replay value. Or a long grind/progression/mastery time, however you want to say it.

18:00 there aren't really that many nijisanji fan games afaik since i think their "use of IP" policies are more restrictive than holo's which even before creating holo indie didn't mind fan games. Additionally there were a few fan games scheduled to be made but after a certain... event... that didn't happen (notably there was a game about selen which apparently got splashed with a bucket of yellow paint afterwards). All that being said, it's technically less of a game by the fans and more of a game for the fans since selen and pomu were part of its creative process, but i've heard lots of good things about "detective rainpuff at tatsuki manor".

The Smol Ame game may have been the first big hit. HoloCure might be the current flagship fan game. There are so many good ones now.
