Additionally, with Monkey Knowledge, Marketplaces and Central Markets give additional lives per round, which on the Lynch Boss, can make all the difference.

Middle path has always been more interesting and fun to me, the way it works. The other ones dont need nearly as much managing to get use out of which can be good but i personally enjoy it
One problem that no one seems to talk about with the middle path is that banks have one *serious* downside to them. Unlike the other paths, you cannot access the cash until the bank is full without losing profits. That means, while you will continuously build top and bottom path farms with the steady supply of money they give, banks mostly let you build additional farms in the payout rounds. That means you'll have your second other 3rd tier farms before you have your second bank, making profits along the way... which does beg the question if it's better to cash out once there's enough in there to get you a second bank or to wait till it's full and cash out then? That problem in addition to the constant hassle of managing banks (or sacrificing profit to sync them up) is what makes them not nearly as good as the numbers on paper might lead you to believe. I'd say that, if you're just going for a few farms and maximum -bank- bang for buck, middle path is great, but if you're in for the medium to large scale farming, you'll be far better off with top or bottom path. So my verdict is that banks are honestly a bit overrated just because their on-paper numbers make them seem a lot more efficient than they actually are.
Not exactly. The advantage of top path is that you can start with it, and going 320 is more efficient than going 203. So whilst 023 is more efficient than 320, you get you that greater efficiency later, which means the two farms are pretty even overall.
@@ironmetea308 i just was testing the bottom path village out and remembered that over clock gives towers extra range. I was testing on round 100 because it gives u the max monkey money your farms produce all at once. I got bored and decided to ultraboost the farm and sure enough it gave me more money. I decided to check all the ultraboost lvls to see the difference in money 1-3 4-7 8-9 10. 1, 4, 8, and 10 are when the money increases. It works on all the farms but Is best used on the top path since, the top path money no longer falls off its a flat rate. If you make 2000 on round 100 u will still make the same amount on all the other rounds not counting pop count.
Did you know putting a 004 village near the farms (and other money generating towers) actually amplifies all their earnings without sacrificing any? It's most noticeable at the end of a round when it does the finishing bonuses.
the 004 village costs a tremendous amount of money up-front (like over $16,000) nullifying any benefit you might get from it and taking away funding from what measly towers you might have trying to defend leaks while you're investing $1000s into farms. at the end, you're pretty much screwed; by the time farms pay themselves and their upgrades back, the game's usually either over or you've lost from not having enough funding to buy defense upgrades to stop the bloons. the cash flow in BTD6 is just utterly ruined compared to 5 and you can never get enough money no matter how much micromanaging. What's worse is that the cash-per-pop actually *decreases* slowly starting after round 40, so it feels like you're playing half-cash mode by around round 70.
lmao i cant mention people because kf my shitty youtube app, but @hobomike6935 Have you ever thought about the possibility that you just suck at the game? 😂
the thing is, banks keep the money they generate, so u cant use the money for more farms(bloonarius) or more defence (the map is hard) bank are really good for mid game tho
Bro, for the love of sweet baby jesus. Pump out content. I can't get enough !!! Legit you are by far the best at explaining the best strat for towers and how they work !!! Keep it up dude, and can't wait till more people find you and realise how good ur content is !!
You have to wait for the bank to be full. A 320 farm will allow you to keep increasing the number of farms with the money, which boosts the production and doesn't lock the money.
Exactly top path you get the money which allows you to buy more banana farms in turn compounding the profits. Everyone talks about how many rounds they take before profit without factoring this in.
@@thebigblob8851 yeah overall what I do is start with 2 farms both 2-0-2 and then build up for marketplaces and then eventually I will have 4 farms 3 of them 2-0-4 and 1 being 2-0-5 and if I wanna go way past round 100 I will start spamming 2-0-4 farms. I don't like to worry about using my banana farmers to collect the money; especially since half the time I play on my Ipad and touching the screen to collect money sucks.
Glad I'm not the only bloon banana optimizer. The monkey knowledge option to deposit money is OP if you get an array of 4 2-0 banana farms, level them into banks and make one IMF loan capable so you can deposit
I agree with everything said‼️I usually start with a 2-0-0, followed by 0-0-3 farms just because they self collect. I try to get 4 minimum (depending on space of maps) but I like having 8-10ish. Then I'll buy the middle 2 upgrades on all of them. I upgrade them to 0-2-4 and by the time they're all 0-2-4, it won't be hard to upgrade one of them to 0-2-5
Idk if it’s just me, but for really long rounds I love the marketplace +merchant strat simply because of how much money you make per round. Plus the added lives are a very nice bonus
Constructive criticism here. When going over the math behind farms, you should display text to visualize key words you said like “money made a round” and “rounds till paid off”. Otherwise great video. How many 3-0-0 farms do you need to build before a 0-0-2 village gives the 15% discount on the third tier?
Actually the 100 Banana Farm is better inicially, than the 200, it produces more money/price. You set 3 of them, after that, place a 002 Village in range of them. After the Village you can also place more 100 Farms in range to use the discount (102 Village instead of 002 can help with the range). Once you placed your planned number of Farms, now you start to buy the 200 upgrades (with the 15% price discount), and then go straight 320, one by one. After that, you can sell the 102 Village if it will help making the first 420 Farm earlier. Another good option is to make the first thrid tier a 203 Farm (produces the same and it´s cheaper, so you can build it earlier to improove the income), then, build all 320, and later sell the 203 to help buying the first 420. I dont like to use the "time to pay itself" as a good parameter, but i rather use the "time i can sell it with no loss". Why? Because selling something to buy another is a common routine in BTD6. If you sell something, you lose 30% of price paid (you can lower it with MK and some upgrades to just 5%), so, if a tower produces more than this loss, its already a profit, MUCH earlier than "pay itself" time. With the MKs + xx4 Boat aura + 023 Farm, the profit starts at the same round (Yeah, just 1 round to start possible profit). And not to forget the 030 Bank (better than 230 by price paid) it is very situational since you can´t use the money its producing until it´s the time to collect. So, essencially, when you upgrade your bank to x30, your income per round DECREASES for the next few rounds, which slows down the construction of new Farms, possibly hindering the final money made.
...Yeah, I really wish more people understood stuff like this. It frustrates me to no end that the entire bloons community basically just parrots the same "BANKS ARE THE BEST, END OF DISCUSSION" talking point when said talking point is based off something completely irrelevant to actual optimization. I know it's a "casual" game, but even "casual" games can be truly optimized. Also, the entire "time to pay itself off" point ends up being completely moot if you've already paid it off. Something like "total profit in x rounds" is a MUCH better metric to go by. Which also tends to cause most things to completely surpass banks... ESPECIALLY if you aren't using benjamin and don't have the bank MK yet. And considering how much value heroes like Etienne provide, there's absolutely no reason to always assume benjamin is being used.
I use banks for the boss bloon because it’s easy to stack them in just about any map because of collect all, and top path basically requires you to have farmers which cost monkey money, and can’t collect every banana around the map due to range.
I'm curious whether if banks make more or less money overall if you account for the fact that with other farm you can invest faster in new farms/upgrade because banks make you wait 12 turns
i've tested it, even with investing in tandem, the 2-0-0 banks and even 2-2-0 banks just make too little per turn compared to a bank, a single bank will have earned you 11.500 by turn 30, if you only place 2-0-0 banks as much as possible they will earn you around 9500 and if you only place 2-2-0 they will earn you about 7500, also i didnt place any more farms while i was waiting for my bank to pay for so you could if you know how to place cheap towers get a second bank right before the first one pays out, that would boost your earning to maybe 14000 by round 30, the 2-0-0 is easier though since i almost died multiple times while waiting for my payoff while you could sacrifice efficency to save yourself with 2-0-0, also i didnt use benjamin who is by himself the best money earner per round and also boosts banks so even more reason to use banks early
Just started playing BTD6 and I am surprised how deep it goes! As a veteran in TDs I am amazed at some of the mechanics and the farms is one of them 😁 Wonderful game!
This was helpful, thanks. I would really like to see an overview of all the other ways you can get extra money in the game and when they're worth it, especially the monkeyopolis as it's so confusing to me when you should get the upgrade and when you're better off just leaving your banana farms as is.
The reason I dont use banks most of the time is because they totally fall off the higher round you get (since they start collecting way slower). I'm surprised nobody ever brings this up. Not to mention they're a little boring to use imo
per-round income 'falls off" like that no matter which path. Banks aren't particularly singled out on it, and the comparison remains the same. Only ability based income isn't round-based, which for the banana farm funnily enough does require the bank's path.
Cool video, I've always been curious about the math behind farming, but I'm too lazy to do it myself. I usually go for a monkeyopolis just cuz why not. also, I think this kind of video should be done using medium prices with no Monkey Knowledge, as it makes adjusting for the other game modes easier.
Top path - highest quantity of money per round Middle path - fastest payback (note the income isn't incremental) Bottom Path - Best on water heavy maps with merchantmen, lives are nice too While not in the guide, I reccomend using a 0-4-1 druid or two hitting as many farms as you can, also where you have a section that no towers can pop frozen bloons, place a 0-1-2 ice monkey and use it to stall for multiple ability uses on your druid (don't do this in races or boss battles)
Before learning about the power of farms, I always skip em' ahead. Was doing good... Until bosses came. After trying about 10 times and failing, I decided to use farms, and shit, thing's powerful.
Any mention of how IMF loan farms can help your income snowball significantly faster than it potentially could have? I honestly do like using the loans to get up fourth tier farms much faster than you could in regular games, which means your overall income is boosted significantly making the IMF loan upgrade pay itself off tenfold.
Still, wouldn't it be more effective to get a plantation, since you can use the money you get from it to immediately invest in new banana farms and earn more money, where as you need to wait for your bank to fill up before being able to invest that in new banana farms?
It takes 12 rounds for the bank to fully fill up to $9,500. If you take 12 rounds of a 3-2-0 it would give you $4,992. Which would get you another farm, but it would be such a low level that there's no way it would make up the $4,508 difference in time
Another thing you should know The top path is good overall and give the most money The middle path is the cheapest for getting the maximum profit The bottom path is VERY GOOD in map that have plenty of places for water tower then go with 004 buccaneer and 024 farm when you have 10 004 buccaneer and 20 024 farm then you would make around 30k per round which is a lot and can be comparable to 520 farm
Bank is the most efficiënt on its own, but if you place more than just one it isn' t. Here is why, when you buy a farm (not the bank) you get the money immediately but when you have a bank you need to collect first. If you get the money immediately you can re-infest in other farms which will grow your production. So when you are planning to keep infesting in your farms you want to not get a bank but another crosspath.
I always use bottom path banana farm because banks just aren't good late game, the bottom path just gives you consistent money automatically, and if you have monkey knowledge it gives you lives.
Something to mention for banana-farms: 500 and 005 depends on rounds. 050 depends on time (cooldown) I have rounds where I throw some balloons multiple times back to entrance and get 2 or 3 times per Round the 050 spell (20-30k). Additional to own generation in tje bank, normal bank multiplier at end of the round and benjamin bank hack
I go bottom path with middle because u can stackThe 0-0-4 boats with it and the 0-2-3/0-2-4 Is better than the 2-0-3/2-0-4 (if u have the correct suport MK). Also u generate lives (1 or3 if u have either 0-0-3 or 0-0-4).
Top path in late game = unlimeted money Mid path = suffer in late game Bot path is only useful in bloonnaris but if you use it in a normal game = 9000 dollers each round or 19367 So for maps like meadow firing range and some maps like that top path Haunted banks
What what about the variable that is the money made live from farms compared to the banks delayed pay. Earning money earlier = more money to spend towards income generation earlier = more money overall. I'm interested on whether this variable is large enough to overrule the bank's higher average money/round.
You will need more money to build those farm combinations just to equally generate the same amount of the banks, so using the banks is just cheaper to make to generate same amounts of money
Is getting IMF loan and depositing generats more money per round than spending the same on other farms? Would buying banks, then selling for BRF be better than going top path into BRF? If not, what about under favored trades?
best farming route is: Start with a 2-0-0 banana farm. Maybe get another, and maybe get a third. When you can, sell 1 or 2 of them to get a 4th banana farm that is a marketplace. Then sell your original to get a second marketplace. Now ALL your farming for the next 60 rounds is AFK EZ money
2-0-3 costs less, and is more effiecient than 3-2-0 and 0-2-3 just btw, especially since the latest update where they made the faster bananas actually apply to the marketplace correctly, it did not before, so now the 2-0-3 is the hands down best farm in the game, no if's ands or butts about it.. go test it yourself, i beat elite bloonarius like its a little child with my farming method ;P
If you go 0,2,5 is the best way for the long run it gives you a colossal income and generates lives each round plus it collect bananas that are in it's range put a monkey village next to it upgraded to 2,0,4 and watch your money rise up
Fun fact: at first time banana farm was added it worked like bottom path until btd5, in btd5 they removed that and made it only the top and middile path in btd6 but then in btd6 they made it so you can also get a banana farm that works same as it used to do way before
Yeah, I always did that with Benjamin. I would rush a Ben and a bank ASAP to get it together fast. All the money I collect goes to buy another bank and it just grows exponentially.
Answer is none of the above. Sniper monkey can make more money than even the bank with his drops. And while you invest more into him than a single farm a 250 sniper can completely carry almost everything till round 80 with a bit of support which makes him insanely efficient. Give him an alchemist and jungle drums and then support with some moab focused damage and you can go full greed into the 80s.
For the bloonarius fights, when do you get the 0/0/2 monkey village? Do you get all 2(or 3 or 4)/2/0 farms first? I've seen people get their 8 banana farms to 2/0/0, get the 0/0/2 village, then upgrade to 2/2/0 farms, then ultimately 4/2/0 farms, but unsure if this is the most efficient route
I usually when doing maps with a decent amount of space in free play get 4 420 farms, and 1 240 and 1 250. Seriously, if you are looking to survive as long as possible in free play: Monkeynomics is a must. As the research facilities are your main source of income, the free 12000 dollars every now and then is really powerful.

@@tayvey7733 I'll admit it has been a little while since I last used that, but I think you can actually have twenty xx4 boats with the one xx5, and the buff of the xx5 will still affect the last xx4.
I think it's also important to consder that 4th-tier Marketplaces syncronize with Merchantmen, so if you're on a map with a lot of water, it could be good to go for a mix of Merchantmen and Central Markets.
Additionally, with Monkey Knowledge, Marketplaces and Central Markets give additional lives per round, which on the Lynch Boss, can make all the difference.
A 2-0-3 Market place is really good if your starting out on tbd 6. It allows you to focus on defenses while gaining 20 every 5 seconds, if your on normal speed.
Ah yes, i love playing To be determined 6
I honestly just go for bottom path because I'm incredibly lazy
Same
Middle path has always been more interesting and fun to me, the way it works.
Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that 0-2-3 farm is more efficient than 3-2-0?
No, with monkey knowledge, it costs less and makes the same each round
@@trank3166 the 0-2-3 with monkey knowledge it makes the same and its cheaper
@@gaminggamer2477 023 Banana farm with Monkey knowledge makes slightly more money than 203.
plus it gives lives with knowledge
Not exactly. The advantage of top path is that you can start with it, and going 320 is more efficient than going 203. So whilst 023 is more efficient than 320, you get you that greater efficiency later, which means the two farms are pretty even overall.
I found out recently that over clock and ultraboost increases monkey money from farms.
the hell? since when? I've been losing out on economical efficiency??
Do you know something that we don't know?
@@ironmetea308 i just was testing the bottom path village out and remembered that over clock gives towers extra range. I was testing on round 100 because it gives u the max monkey money your farms produce all at once. I got bored and decided to ultraboost the farm and sure enough it gave me more money. I decided to check all the ultraboost lvls to see the difference in money
1-3 4-7 8-9 10.
1, 4, 8, and 10 are when the money increases. It works on all the farms but Is best used on the top path since, the top path money no longer falls off its a flat rate. If you make 2000 on round 100 u will still make the same amount on all the other rounds not counting pop count.
I don't know when this was changed and have seen no one talking about it. It is only a late game strategy but it works.
Does it also work with Monkeyopolis?
The bottom upgrades mainly seem useful if your towers are very micro intensive, like lots of military towers.
I always liked the middle path(2-3-0), now I feel like it’s justified using it. Thanks for the vid
Same!
What's worse is that the cash-per-pop actually *decreases* slowly starting after round 40, so it feels like you're playing half-cash mode by around round 70.
lmao i cant mention people because kf my shitty youtube app, but @hobomike6935

Would love a video on the other money generation methods, like the recently popular jungle druid spam
i personally like the monkeyopolis with 8 4-2-0 banana farm sacrifices. Its possible to get before round 80 and gives 31,500 bananas per round
Great idea
I accidently clicked on this video but god I am so glad I did. I needed this because I always questioned myself when farming
I am glad I am not the only one who thought this 💯
what about other farming methods like boats or druids?
pls make video on that
we need SpiritoftheLaw like guy here in btd6
I can make one covering other methods too
boats are THE most efficent way to make money, but they cost more then 5-2-0 farms so they are only worth really late game
And banks can be buffed by Benjamin, which is also pretty good.
I use banks for the boss bloon because it’s easy to stack them in just about any map because of collect all, and top path basically requires you to have farmers which cost monkey money, and can’t collect every banana around the map due to range.
Fair enough
Meanwhile i'll do whatever it takes to make my Monkeyopolis absorb 18 farms in End Of The Road lol
"you should only go to tier 3" me, who's about to cover the entire screen with tier 3 farms: yeah, this is big brain time
I'm curious whether if banks make more or less money overall if you account for the fact that with other farm you can invest faster in new farms/upgrade because banks make you wait 12 turns
This question keeps some of us up at night
i've tested it, even with investing in tandem, the 2-0-0 banks and even 2-2-0 banks just make too little per turn compared to a bank, a single bank will have earned you 11.500 by turn 30, if you only place 2-0-0 banks as much as possible they will earn you around 9500 and if you only place 2-2-0 they will earn you about 7500, also i didnt place any more farms while i was waiting for my bank to pay for so you could if you know how to place cheap towers get a second bank right before the first one pays out, that would boost your earning to maybe 14000 by round 30, the 2-0-0 is easier though since i almost died multiple times while waiting for my payoff while you could sacrifice efficency to save yourself with 2-0-0, also i didnt use benjamin who is by himself the best money earner per round and also boosts banks so even more reason to use banks early
"anything more than that is overkill" me getting a flying fortress for round 60:
Just started playing BTD6 and I am surprised how deep it goes!
As a veteran in TDs I am amazed at some of the mechanics and the farms is one of them 😁
Wonderful game!
I just don't like getting random bursts of money
@@rorytravis7959 yeah kinda
The good thing about banks though is that they earn interest in stored money and with monkey knowledge upgrades, you can even deposit money in them.

Top path - highest quantity of money per round
Middle path - fastest payback (note the income isn't incremental)
Bottom Path - Best on water heavy maps with merchantmen, lives are nice too
While not in the guide, I reccomend using a 0-4-1 druid or two hitting as many farms as you can, also where you have a section that no towers can pop frozen bloons, place a 0-1-2 ice monkey and use it to stall for multiple ability uses on your druid (don't do this in races or boss battles)

Can you make a guide on how to use the deposit knowledge on 240 banana farms? Thanks in advance
I remember seeing something about this, one deposit is the most efficient.
Before learning about the power of farms, I always skip em' ahead. Was doing good... Until bosses came. After trying about 10 times and failing, I decided to use farms, and shit, thing's powerful.
Who remembers the banana republic
It's also worth noting that Benjamin buffs banks, and that Marketplace buffs merchantmen
Any mention of how IMF loan farms can help your income snowball significantly faster than it potentially could have? I honestly do like using the loans to get up fourth tier farms much faster than you could in regular games, which means your overall income is boosted significantly making the IMF loan upgrade pay itself off tenfold.
And it enables investing, which makes it even faster.
lives are actually pretty important in odysseys early game cos Continueing with only refill ur CURRENT island's lives
Which would get you another farm, but it would be such a low level that there's no way it would make up the $4,508 difference in time
Another thing you should know
The top path is good overall and give the most money
The middle path is the cheapest for getting the maximum profit
The bottom path is VERY GOOD in map that have plenty of places for water tower then go with 004 buccaneer and 024 farm when you have 10 004 buccaneer and 20 024 farm then you would make around 30k per round which is a lot and can be comparable to 520 farm

You don't?
Bank is the most efficiënt on its own, but if you place more than just one it isn' t.
Here is why, when you buy a farm (not the bank) you get the money immediately but when you have a bank you need to collect first. If you get the money immediately you can re-infest in other farms which will grow your production.
So when you are planning to keep infesting in your farms you want to not get a bank but another crosspath.

I always use bottom path banana farm because banks just aren't good late game, the bottom path just gives you consistent money automatically, and if you have monkey knowledge it gives you lives.
Something to mention for banana-farms:
500 and 005 depends on rounds.
050 depends on time (cooldown)
I have rounds where I throw some balloons multiple times back to entrance and get 2 or 3 times per Round the 050 spell (20-30k).
Top path in late game = unlimeted money
Mid path = suffer in late game
Bot path is only useful in bloonnaris but if you use it in a normal game = 9000 dollers each round or 19367
So for maps like meadow firing range and some maps like that top path Haunted banks
I remember when imf loan used to not give half the loan to debt.
Made it so much better to have a handful of imf loans than now.
What what about the variable that is the money made live from farms compared to the banks delayed pay. Earning money earlier = more money to spend towards income generation earlier = more money overall. I'm interested on whether this variable is large enough to overrule the bank's higher average money/round.
i dont know for sure but i think the banks will increase exponentially over time making them more valuable
You will need more money to build those farm combinations just to equally generate the same amount of the banks, so using the banks is just cheaper to make to generate same amounts of money
I just realized that I saw your bank was named "The Federal Reserve" and I love it.
I used 2-0-4/0-2-4 in every run since My Autism makes it's hard to Micro any other paths (Especially Banks)
I see. 0-2-4s are the way to go then
I use 0-2-4 as well 🙂

Is getting IMF loan and depositing generats more money per round than spending the same on other farms?

Good question. I personally hate IMF , bad deal in my opinion, but i didn't check the numbers, hope someone did and give us a precise answer.
deposting does make more money and is worth it, i dont know about taking loans and getting more banks up though, would need to test it out
best farming route is:
Start with a 2-0-0 banana farm.
Maybe get another, and maybe get a third.
When you can, sell 1 or 2 of them to get a 4th banana farm that is a marketplace.
Then sell your original to get a second marketplace.
Now ALL your farming for the next 60 rounds is AFK
EZ money
2-0-3 costs less, and is more effiecient than 3-2-0 and 0-2-3 just btw, especially since the latest update where they made the faster bananas actually apply to the marketplace correctly, it did not before, so now the 2-0-3 is the hands down best farm in the game, no if's ands or butts about it.. go test it yourself, i beat elite bloonarius like its a little child with my farming method ;P
also i have thoroughly tested the farms, and it still seems that 2-0-3 2-0-4 with monkyopolis gives more money than 4-2-0
Is that true even if I have monkey knowledge
If you go 0,2,5 is the best way for the long run it gives you a colossal income and generates lives each round plus it collect bananas that are in it's range put a monkey village next to it upgraded to 2,0,4 and watch your money rise up
It is actually pretty informative thanks
ps. and they say money doesn't grow on trees

Fun fact: at first time banana farm was added it worked like bottom path until btd5, in btd5 they removed that and made it only the top and middile path in btd6 but then in btd6 they made it so you can also get a banana farm that works same as it used to do way before
And banks stack on each other making them stronger
Yeah, I always did that with Benjamin. I would rush a Ben and a bank ASAP to get it together fast. All the money I collect goes to buy another bank and it just grows exponentially.
It is worth noting there’s a monkey knowledge that allows marketplaces to generate health, extremely useful for fighting lych
Honestly bro any normal game I can just get 0-2-4 farms (about 4 or 5) and I have more than enough money for everything I want
And you can also get monkey banks also giving you more than you wanted and cost cheaper!
Well farms are just win-win!
My best path is bottom path. It’s more of preference but I just think it makes more money overall with the tier 4 or 5 with valuable bananas

What is that black chicken thing

The banks + the mk point that lets u put ur money in the bank + benjamimm = OP af
For Bloonarius I do the ~10 Marketplace into 2-farm Miniop to 10 Farm Megaop.
Place however many farms you want before round 40(I usually do 4 or 5) then before you buy the 3rd tier put down the village
I usually when doing maps with a decent amount of space in free play get 4 420 farms, and 1 240 and 1 250.
