The problems with just-in-time manufacturing is that you push away all buffers against delays, and reduce all benefit of mass-production by reverting down to small-batch production of those parts.
I think it pushes the risk and warehousing requirements onto the individual part manufactures. They can choose to do just in time manufacturing, or they tool up and produce six months worth of screws in a week, then go back to producing other things instead.

There’s a lot to learn from Taiichi Ohno
C'mon Discovery, it's "principle" not "principal"
alex wintermeyer maybe it’s lonely and wants a princiPAL...
Sandwiches!!! @6:37am I think the fuck yes
Looks like Overcook 2 on Switch
It can't go wrong, unless there is a delay in the supply chain, then everything falls apart.

Kanban- just in time production
Only clicked because Richard hammond, and richard hammond because of The Grand Tour / Former Top Gear
So why are they not wearing gloves any hair net?
Mass production: how mankind was subordinated to the system--a living nut or bolt.
👏👏👏👏😋😋
Someone ate a sandwich touched by Richard Hammond at one point. Think about that
Oh no, I've done a version of this exercise but with post-it-notes to and passing it on to the person next to you. It went, well, not well.
PRINCIPLE
Someone forgot the gloves. Hygiene anyone?
The down side is that it is taking 5 months for my new car to arrive
This doesn't work when let's say oh a major health crisis affects the supply chain and delivery causing a standstill in the workforce and delivery systems as we saw in China. This is what companies like Apple and Foxconn went through when their entire labor force was quarantined for a month. Because of this, nothing is arriving "on time" as it was mentioned in the video and results in shortages. It is not "utterly brilliant" and something will go wrong @ 1:17. Every system has its pros and cons. This system has a lack of buffers that prevent stops in production. At this very moment at this time when resources are scarce, it helps to have all your products on-site to the detriment of others. Now that disease is affecting the rest of the world, companies that are undergoing labor shortages in the US, Europe, and South America should take the alternative knowing that there are to be shortages and disruptions to supply. This only applies when the economy, people, and its suppliers are healthy, predictable, and growing. This is not one of those times now, possibly lingering for an entire year. @Brian Simpson mentions lack of buffers too.
Well, nothing perfect.

That's how you mass produce corona virus sandwiches 👋
..
.
What am i supposed to do with this information
Apply it to your daily life in multiple ways thinking of it as follows: it is much more efficient to specialise in and being involved in the production of a product/service based on demand rather than your mere idea of at what extent you should start.
So next time you go to the supermarket, get yourself a grocery list! 🤣
Make cars i think 🤔
video published March of 2020.... did NOT age well
I hope you all washed your hands..........😷
That’s a lot of coronavirus sandwiches... I wonder if they ate them...
probably went straight to the garbage bin to rot away
Oh you know it. Who on that set would eat sandwiches that at least four people put their bare hands on, when they probably have catering most days.
@@SIGINTprivate why couldn't they have easily worn gloves and not wasted a significant amount of food they themselves could enjoy or donate
Your still handsome hehehe
So this is how the virus started spreading... hmmm
