John Jones explain that pre-fight behavior in the most straightforward and sincere fashion. He said whenever he felt doubtful of himself before a fight , he would party hard, unconciously trying to have an excuse for himself in case he loses. Not for public, but for himself. He was scared of dissapointing himself and losing faith in himself.
He was drinking because he was nervous. Jon jones said on the Joe Rogan podcast he used to drink the week of his fight so in case he lost he had a built in excuse. That’s what Conor was doing. He knew what he was up against and needed that safety net in the back of his head to say “well I didn’t really lose because it wasn’t me in there. I was drinking”
You nailed it. It was a built in excuse. Plus I wasn’t training like I used to etc. But in the miraculous event he won that fight, he would’ve been bragging about it ad nauseam. Conor knew how good Khabib was and also knew his chances of winning were slim.
If a person already has tendencies towards alcoholism.... Any stress put upon that person will trigger those inner demons.... But it seems that Connor... Recognizes the problem.... And at least faces the fact that he has one. He seems very Open and honest, and uncondoning of his issue. I believe that's progress. Facing it is the 1st step!

Who are we to judge anyone else... you don't like that person just don t be around him... when you tell something about someone else you say something about you is something in you that bothers....why you care how other people live their lives as long as they cannot change you ... People cannot change but you can you can be a compassionate loving human beeing even with your lowest enemy.. Lev Tolstoy had a very beautiful quote that said: " You want to get rid of your enemy love him" or something like that🤣 The world is not how it is the world is how we are another beautiful story is one of Buddha and 2 different travelers you can search for it on UA-cam. If you have buttons to be pushed then everyone will push them be free don't make others dictate your feelings or behaviour. We are all humans and we are not perfect.
Yup on Joe Rogans podcast. Like self sabotage kinda
I believe that 100%
Sounds like a piss poor excuse for being a drug and alcohol addict

Fear hits all when the opponent is use to battle bears
He was drinking because he was nervous. Jon jones said on the Joe Rogan podcast he used to drink the week of his fight so in case he lost he had a built in excuse. That’s what Conor was doing. He knew what he was up against and needed that safety net in the back of his head to say “well I didn’t really lose because it wasn’t me in there. I was drinking”
No
I believe that 100%
You nailed it.

He was drinking to escape the fear of Khabib killing him
Was definitely nervous, a massive fight like that against an undefeated champ with all the disrespectful trash talk he done can put a huge amount of pressure on his shoulders.
Not to the mention the lawsuit from the dolly incident and khabib punking artem ironically the same guy that would betray Connor a few yrs l8r
Lol nervous fight? These guys are world champs with millions of dollars that at the time lived and breathed fighting. If you blame nervousness for someone at that high level of competition and experience then GG
@@almostrich4013 stfu nerd of course they are nervous. Losing comes with way more than just getting hurt
@@almostrich4013 Top level fighter talk about this often bud
@@samhatch1657 Yeah but all that goes away once you hop in the octagon and the bell 🔔 rings. Unless Connor was displaying fake confidence and was just “all talk” coming into the fight but deep down he knew Khabib would demolish him. If you’re fighting at that high of a level and have many fights under your belt I don’t see how nervousness can have an impact on the outcome of the fight. These guys are warriors.
Nervous is why he drank more. He’s only human.
I really don’t think Conor gets nervous he’s one of those people that thinks he’s invincible no matter what
Nervous? No just Irish

Id say khabibs unwavering consistency and sheer fucking will is way more gangster
Nothing was gangster about it. Clown behavior because he was terrified of khabib.

I’d be thinking about my retirement plans and how to avoid head injuries and stay healthy enough to drink with my friends and shit. Not necessarily. I think McGregor was lying but if you have recovered you aren’t going to necessarily know exactly how long it’s been. You’ll have a general idea. But if you know the exact time down to the day, that means your still fighting off not drinking if that makes sense

Your comment was funny af. The sad thing about connor was he said 'i had venom in me or summin' he basically gave into his ego and demons, the man became a total success financially and started indulging in the sins of the flesh, rip Connor you brought the sport of the UFC to the mainstream casuals, you haven't been in a fight in forever yet we still talk about you till this day, your legacy is the biggest in the sport for this reason 😢
