Yes, Pentatonix has grown up. Also, a change in bass singers around 2017. Still going strong. New video PENTATONIX PRAYERS FOR THIS WORLD posted recently. Have a Christmas Special on Disney Plus coming in early December.
Welcome to Pentatonix and the world of a cappella! Yours appears to be a new channel, so we don't know much about your tastes yet, but reacting to Pentatonix is a good sign (for us Pentatonix fans)! Their catalog is expansive and covers a wide range of music. Allow me to suggest you consider the Evolution of Michael Jackson and Hallelujah videos to start. I'm sure others will provide additional insight and suggestions. BTW, if you haven't already run into it yet, SME (Sony Music Entertainment) tends to be harsh with their copyright blocks, so you may want to take a quick look at others who react to Pentatonix and see what tricks they use to get past SME's blocks.
Pentatonix (PTX) was formed in 2011 and have an extensive song catalog. Before that, the three main vocalists, Scott (tall soulful blonde), Mitch, (high voice), and Kirstin (mezzo soprano) sang together in high school as The Trio. The bass (originally Avi but now Matt) and the beatboxer (Kevin) round out the band. PTX sings everything but mostly Pop and Christmas music. They just released their seventh Christmas album, Holidays Around The World. Although considered a cappella, they will occasionally use instruments; especially with their newer music. 90s Dance Medley is all a cappella. Even when they use instruments, often Kevin’s cello, the emphasis is still on the vocals. Recommend their new video, Prayers For This World. It does have some strings.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Pentatonix! My favorite R&B PTX song is If I Ever Fall In Love ft Jason Derulo but go to their channel and pick anything that interests you and the Pentaholics will join you for the ride ❤️🙌🙌
Great reaction! This group has a pretty extensive catalog of songs that you might like. From Country to Christmas, they re-imagine songs and add their own personal flavor; that, in most cases, elevates it! Check out their cover of: Where R U Now.... =)
OMG! A reactor who knows about PTX Counting to 5! I love it! The lineup of PTX has one change in it from the Counting to 5 song. The bass singer in that song, Avi Kaplan, left the group in 2017 (amicably) and is now enjoying a growing solo career. The new bass is Matt Sallee, who appears in this medley (red or blue-and-black checked jackets). Different voices, but both are amazing singers.
Loved your reaction! Yes, they're awesome! Please check out some of their evolution medleys: Evolution of Michael Jackson, Evolution of Arianna Grande, Evolution of Rihanna, Evolution of Beyonce, Evolution of Music. You might find music you enjoy there!
Lots of ptx to catch up on then. Enjoy rediscovering them. Several other excellent acapella groups out there now if you're interested in exploring the genre. I spotted you found Home Free, going to watch you reaction to that next. There are also groups called Voiceplay, The Bass Gang, Citizen Queen and Maytree for starters.
Welcome to the wonderful rabbit hole known as pentatonix. They won the 2011 sing off and took off from there. They've won 3 grammys for daft punk, dance of the sugar plum fairies, and jolene w/ dolly parton all 3 are highly recomended. There are so many videos in their catalog...way too many to list but I will endevor to give you some choices for future reactions. some covers are Bohemian rhapsody (quite simply the finest cover of that classic rock song), wizard of ahhhs ( a collection of 17 pop songs arranged to tell the classic story of wizard of oz), mad world, the prayer, royals, carol of the bells, say something, radioactive, can you feel the love tonite, problem, evelotion of music, little drummer boy, my favorite things, 12 days of christmas, god rest ye merry gentlemen, and so many more....some originals include...sing, happy now, love me when u dont, coffee in bed, be my eyes, never gonna cry again, the lucky ones.....during the height of the pandemic....they released an album called "at home" (completely recorded in their own homes seperately and then mixed.....songs include...home, blinding lights, when the party's over, dreams, break my heart. Please do more pentatonix reactions. You may run into issues with the video being blocked...just put some sort of filter on the video...we really care about the music. As you do more pentatonix reactions more people will subscribe to your channel as us fans of pentatonix called pentaholics luv seeing people react to their extensive library of videos. Have a blessed day.
If you loved this, check out their „daft punk medley“. But they also do other genres. Try their take on „Havanna“ or their „Evolution of Michael Jackson“!
That was a great introduction telling us what you knew of PTX. And I was sitting here grinning knowing what was in store for you. Yes, they have matured over the years and had only the one change in personnel, the bass, Avi, being replaced by Matt in 2017. I hope this is the beginning of an exciting journey for you!
Girl!!! You have missed soooooo much! Just like you, the members of Pentatonix have also grown up. Most are married and have kids of their own. They created a new a capella sound which has grown to include several talented groups, foreign and domestic. Their arrangements are used by high schools, colleges, universities, and other professional groups. They are best known for their covers, but they have a large volume of original music, as well. We Pentatonix fans refer to ourselves as "Pentaholics," and we encompass all walks of life and preferences in music. They may have many imitators, but they are at the pinnacle of what they do. Caution: You may be headed down a "rabbit hole" you will truly enjoy!
So, you do know PTX are an 'A Capella group'... i.e, no instruments? I found it strange you didn't comment on Kevin's beatboxing, or the sounds they make, or the incredible harmonies, or Mitch's high range and Avi's bass tones. If you continue to react to Pentatonix, the Pentaholics will come. They can sniff out a newbie, and your sub count will go ballistic. As others have said, SME are savage, so pause a lot, comment on what you're hearing, and then hit the back space and go again. This tends to be the best option. I'll sub when you post their version of Sound of Silence. All the best and enjoy your journey down the PTX rabbit hole.
This group has been together since a few days before the a cappella competition show, "The Sing-Off. They got together a few days before it started, and went on to win it all. Since you're new to Pentatonix, you might consider watching their entire passage through to the end (it was season three.) It's all on UTube, and is immensely entertaining. Subscribed!

They don't do covers... They do upgrades!
Just subbed for more Pentatonix reactions!! EDM feels with their original Love Again… seems you may like it!
They did a Daft Punk mashup, the electronic band from the 90's and won a Grammy with it...

Well the bass on Sesame Street was white, so yeah, they've changed!!

Thanks so much for the note. I'm looking forward to seeing more.
@@bnessartmood I'll sub now, but I would also add that you might need to blur the video to avoid the SME copyright block hammer.
