I just love watching the two of you interacting. It is obvious you have a really great relationship AND Amanda is so darned cute! I've lined out to watch all your reactions to my favorite group - Pentatonix!
Hmmm. Walked out of a magazine... not quite. But you can see the first time they performed as a group of 5 (Kirstin, Scott, Mitch, Kevin, and Avi) by watching their The Sing-Off performances.
Did you know PTX did an "NSYNC Medley"? It's from 2012, so it's BabyTonix and the sound is pretty raw. There's also some live versions of it from the 2013 tour, not bad quality for fan-recorded video.
Nice reactions! You've got to listen to Hallelujah (almost 700 million views), Daft Punk Medley (they won a Grammy for it) & The Prayer. They don't cover a song, they "upgrade"!
Also worth checking out is Scott and Mitch's side youtube channel "Superfruit" - Highlight videos are 'Frozen Medley' and 'Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 and 2'
I just find it amazing how on songls like this, and Daft Punk, etc... how 5 people can make the sound so full, and complete. One of the judges on the Sing Off ( I beleive is right) made the comment about how PTX is just 5 members, but they sound so much more full than the competition that had like 15 to 20 members.
I also want to say I am going to sub now, I really enjoy how your not afraid to say how you don't like this or that. Most reactors don't want to say that stuff, so all you hear is praises, so they don't make the fans mad. I prefer to hear the truth. WE are not all going to enjoy the same things the same way. As long as your just saying "I don't like this part" , and not hateing on the group as a whole, I can support you in your opinion, no matter how wrong you are. LOL just kidding
If you think what Kevin the beatboxer does is crazy, react to his version of Down form his channel. You will be amazed.

they have such a variety of music and great original music too. one of their fun upbeat originals, 'sing', is made with fans. everyone looks like they're having the time of their lives. they also do 'can't hold us' by macklemore if you want to hear them rap.
Nice reaction guys. There are so many more amazing PTX songs awaiting discovery. We Pentaholics call their covers "upgrades." And the originals are amazing. I have watched every vid multiple times, and still enjoy focusing on one person, to understand what they are doing, while the others sing different parts. Kevin is truly talented. Enjoy your journey.

You're not the only reactors who've said they wish they were longer and not just trading with the snippits.
To see how Kevin puts together some of the vocal craziness for these arrangements, check out his channel where he shows you the way he loops... also they have recently put out an album named 'Evergreen' there is a behind the scenes that shows how they arrange their harmonies/vocal lines.. and how they collectively make the sound effects for some of the tracks... I think you'll both love either if you get the chance to react to them. Great channel - thank you !
Most PTX covers are actually an improvement! Best examples: Havanna, Shallow or Hallelujah!
Gold (Kiiara) is the biggest upgrade.
I'd like to add radioactive to the list. They add cello and violin to the song.
Say Something is definitely an upgrade too!

Great reaction! You were using the word "improvement" for what Pentatonix does with songs they cover. I heard someone use an expression I really liked. This person called them "upgrades." I thought it was very fitting and accurate. Keep at it and don't give up on reacting to this group. If you do, have all the fun you want exploring them on your own.
I haven't gone through all your comments, but I have a suggestion for the daft punk medley. If the official video doesn't go through, there's an epic live private performance version where the group is just singing in a green room with no mic and recorded by a cell phone. It is such a mind freak that you won't get over it. Would love to see your reaction to that, just in case your video won't make it through. Thanks for going on the PTX journey. Putting large letters over the video like "Video Blocked" usually helps. The mash ups and evolutions usually escape copyright laws. Great Reaction, hope to see more PTX from you two! 😁😁😎
There is a side by side video where you can listen to their version and see how close it is to the originals. it's truly miraculous and so glad you wrere able to get past copyrights on this. I hope you will create a playlist of their videos because I come back over and over again so I can see their music through your eyes. Blessings to you both!

Great reaction. Love PTX. This medley is terrific. I am an older fan (don't ask) so when I first saw "90's dance medley" I was thinking 1890's. Oh well. This is good too. But I sure would love to see Kirstin square dancing. Sigh... 😉
LOL! I'm also an older fan, but I didn't quite go to 1890s -- but then again, they covered that in the Evolution of Music, didn't they? 😉😂
A Fugue repeats too. And they are being played 500 years after they were written. Dance Music can be complicated and varied, if you do not close your mind to the possibility. Some people find that hard to do. And some don't. Thanks for showing both examples.
Here are some for you to react to. You had asked in a previous about Carol of the Bells. They have two versions, one with Avi and one with Matt. Check the one from the Christmas Under the Stars album. Also for Christmas music-Mary Did You Know, Amazing Grace, My Heart With You, The Prayer, and many more for Christmas. Also, Imagine, Say Something, Come Along, Cheerleader, Royals.....................They are amazing talented musicians for sure!
Just found your channel, diving into your PTX playlist! You mentioned your FIRST reaction to PTX was the Can You Feel The Love Tonight?! WoW! That is pretty interesting. That must have been one HELL of a Mitch-Slap LOL. Most reactors I see do Hallelujah first, you like ...started hardcore! Subbed for more PTX reactions please! Anything you choose is glorious I suggest 'Starships', 'Valentine', 'Dancing On My Own', 'Can't Hold Us', 'Problem', 'Prayers For This World', 'Gold', and 'Popspring 2016' live performance - they do 4 songs, 3 of the 4 are original (Cracked, Can't Sleep Love, and Water) + they do Evolution of Michael Jackson and my favorite of them is Water, I love how the water droplet behind them on the screen is perfectly in time with Kevin's beatboxing, and Mitch has a little rap in Can't Sleep Love that he doesn't do in their official video!
You should definetely react to their live performances ! I honestly wouldn't know what to recommend since everything they do is just great haha
Their "Evolution" videos are live, they do a few takes and chose the best one to post. They have Evolutions of Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Beyonce...
And a major benefit is that although both groups of music are great, they are easier to get through copyright than covers. As are originals (also excellent) such as Love Again, Be My Eyes, Sing, Happy Now, Thank You etc.
@@katherineeasteal662 I would also recommend Kirstin's "Love Me When I Don't" and their "Home" montage with so many songs with Home as a theme.
@@donnone7295 Good recommendations. It often bemuses me why reactors apparently gives up on Pentatonix because of copyright issues, when Pentatonix has so many great originals, medleys etc than can be reacted to with relative ease.
I totally get your enthusiasm about PTX as a group. Copyright is a problem for all reactors. Use filters/transparency/flips or whatever it takes. Us pentaholics have seen them so many times we don’t need to see the videos. Pausing can often help too. Keep them coming. Subbed
We call them upgrades, lol. You've got Mitch correct, yep. They make us all happy, we get it. And yes, they are all remarkably nice looking on top of being monster talents, there should be a law (but I'm glad there isn't 😉).
Anything you have to do to the video to get it unblocked will be fine with the Pentaholics - we've all seen the videos several (usually dozens) of times already, we're here to see your reactions! My personal favorite is playing with the contrast so that it ends up looking sort of like a cartoon, but whatever it takes.
For more of Mitch's highs, try The Prayer. Mitch and Scott (tall blonde) pretty much rule that song - Scott starts off in his lower register in Italian when he comes in, a tribute to Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, who performed the song with Celine Dion in its most famous version (yes, Mitch sings Celine's part, LOL!).
For a fast one that makes you want to move, try Come Along. It's a cover, but not many people have heard the original.
BTW - if you're interested in the songs included in 90's Dance Medley, they're all listed in the description of the PTX video.
I would recommend Say Something, Imagine & Bohemian Rhapsody for covers and Happy Now for one of their originals.
I recommend their originals Love Again, See Through, Coffee in Bed and Happy Now. KEVIN is the beatboxer. If you want to hear Mitch more, listen to his solo work, Angels Pray, Love Supply, Machine and Ready2Die.

If you want to hear high notes you really need to listen to Seasons of Love. If you like runs, riffs, and Kirstie's whistle notes. She's really great in this song. She's definitely got the high notes. 😊👍

People have mentioned the Evolution videos -- my daughter showed me the Evolution of Music several years ago, which is how I first learned about Pentatonix, and I was immediately hooked -- it's amazing, as are their other Evolution mashups. A much more recent original of theirs, which I've been listening to pretty much every day lately, is Happy Now. And I also love Butter x Dynamite, which is a BTS cover.
You guys should do The Evolution of Michael Jackson to see how they sound live in studio during a one-take mashup… very impressive

There are so many songs they do that are among the best you'll hear (just like PTX). In deference to Tim Burton, start with the Oogie Boogie song. The only PTX song with studio effects(autotune) but it was because the original Cher song was specifically done with Autotune and so it had to be there. But all of the other songs the only effects are done with their own voices. Really. OH and PTX does not do "covers" they do upgrades.
The copyrighting is hard to get by. More pauses with comments might help?

Put a filter/distortion over the PTX video.
Two of the biggest ways I have seen people get around copyright claims on their PTX videos. One is frequent pausing. The other is to put something over the video or make the video transparent to a degree
I think altering the video image is the most important part. I’ve seen plenty of reactors get blocked even with pauses. But making the video image transparent seems to do the trick
If you had eased into PTX appropriately, rightfully acknowledging their brilliance from the start, maybe you would not now be dancing around copyright issues. You were, both, naysayers, from the get-go. Time to fess up and admit that PTX is, without doubt, the greatest musical performing group of our time!!!!
If you put the opacity of the video very low youtube should allow uour reaction.
