Lovely video Quick question, what do you think about pool ponds? In other words using one of those circle or rectangular shaped big pools that you buy from stores and build. To then make a pond Of course with a filter and all the essentials
I’ve got a 7000 litre intex with 15 very high end nissai and sansai koi all dianichi isa and sakai fish no issues what so ever It’s heated and I actually. Use a pressure filter weekly water changes about 20%
Good day jam, I would recommend using rubber like liner ponds people erect with a strong wire grid. Erectable pools for commercial use are not built to last. Not in my country at least.
Water quality a must, good nutrition a must, oxygen a must, LITTLE TO NO STRESS ALSO A MUST. My simple mind tells me koi don’t enjoy being handled or peered at from all sides through copious windows.
Or being scooped out of the pond 'because we want to measure how big they are'. I've never measured them, they are what they are, measuring won't change any of that, leave them alone.
What would be awesome would be a video to describe the opposite. What happens if you want small koi? I want small but healthy koi. I’m not interested in massive fish, but if they all like 40 to 45 cms that would be great. Can this be done with healthy fish?
And don’t forget temperature ☀️ without the right temperature the Koi won’t grow at all, depending on all the stuff we discuss in the video 😊
Great tips, keep them coming. Greetings from Dundalk 🇮🇪.
Nice to see my pond again 😎
And a nice movie whit good information
Great tips for growing large healthy koi. I agree with them all. 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻
Absolutely beautiful koi. 🇬🇧
Thank you. Beautiful koi
interesting video all the best Arron and Leo
I see nobody has commented the most obvious factor, which is heat. Specifically the magic 24C/75F. Maybe the second most important after genetics?
Absolutely true! Thanks for noticing, there are even more factors like certain water parameters etc. Maybe for a next video 😃
Lovely video

@@AP-vb9it Interesting, thanks for sharing your experience.
@@AP-vb9it what pool pond setup you running? so like filter, pump, uv, etc?
@@pondfishrancher I mean I dont mind replacing it every year or so
Nitrates are a huge limiting factor to any fish, discus are a perfect example- eye to body ratio is very telling as to how they are kept
Nice video.... DNA... coming from parent stock is the key...
That's right

Water temperature around 24c is critical for growth
Butiful fish 👍 from coco Babeis
heated pond is the biggest factor
Absolutely!
