"I thought you were catholic"
I’ve been a fan of Wong fu prod for about a decade now, and I just want to tell you all how much I appreciate the consistently funny, heartwarming, and thoughtful content yall have made over the years. Great video - Happy AANHPI~ month!!!
20 years is crazy! Congrats
Happy Asian American Month! Proud AF to be Asian!
❤❤❤
Real talk tho i feel like Pacific Islanders should get their own month to stop all the confusion. We not even on the same continent. Aapi isn’t even a real term because there’s no such thing as an Asian American Pacific Islander. Even people that are actually mixed with Asian and Pacific Islander don’t even use that term lol. It’s a redundant term that describes almost nobody
I agree! That way there can be proper attention and focus on your community vs us sharing and everything getting muddled lol
AAPI isnt one group, its combining the two groups AA and PI for the acronym for Heritage month
I put the book on display in our library!
i love how the bloopers shows just how many letters there are...its insane 😂 happy asian american month everyone!!
Love this! #happyasianamericanpacificislanderheritagemonth
yeah...about October for Filipinos......🤣
Idk understand this.. and Im Filipino
@@AttyDara Filipino American History Month in October!
what about south asians 🤔
Exactly
Technically, south asians are included under "Asians". The term "Asian American" covers 21 ethnic groups including those in East, Southeast, and South Asia. But I agree, it's all confusing and East Asians are typically most represented.
We never get included. 😢
@@PassionofDance212because y’all don’t publicize yourselves. If you want more attention then promote your culture. You can’t put the responsibility on other people to promote your own culture when you should know it best.
It’s literally in your name
... Filipino have constantly been noted as not Asian anymore, so their own month makes sense.
We are the “mexicans” of the Asian community 😆
Yall more the Mexican of Asians, Rodriguez.
i got the weirdest personal mixup in which im 7/8 Asian, 1/8 Mexican and as a result get mistaken for Filipino 💀
@@DIGITALGH05T Which part of Asia though?
As filipino Im highly confused why we are no longer Asians. In our schools here the Philippines is still seen part of Asia, we're part of ASEAN for starters. Yet Americans ousted us from Asia?? I dont know about this east asians already discriminate heavily against us. They use filipino as deregatory word. This just kind of lifts that narrative. 😮💨
Happy AAPIHM! 😊😊
Now that I moved back to Asia, issue like this seemed so funny to me =)))
One of my colleague here asked something that I never thought about when I was in America: "Why would American do that? Doesn't it divide people even more by excluding other culture out for that month?"
I hear you! But our friends living in Asia have the privilege of being in a homogenous nation. Unfortunately the US is not by default a happy mix of peoples and cultures, in which case, yes, these months would be "excluding". What they don't realize is the reason for these months is not to divide, but to purposefully allocate attention to certain groups because if not, history has shown in America, only one majority group gets everything and exploits that control. Months like this, while we joke about the acronyms, are still incredibly important because it forces our nation of mixed culture and backgrounds to recognize each other in hopes of creating tolerance and appreciation. Genuinely curious what your colleague would think about that.
There are Asians in other western countries that also celebrate this month. Americans forget we exist.
Im Asian but from Britain the amount of Americans i meet are mind blown about that and its very annoying
Mabuhay
GO PHILIPPINES! :D
struggle is real. this is our curse~
“Sound like a haole” is crazy 😭
Happy HAPPA MONTH!!
LOL!! I always thought it was AAPIM
Phil breaking character at 0:46 is so endearing hahaha
"So reductive. You sound like a haole."🤣 I resemble that remark.😜
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Issues only who use acronyms hav lol 😂🤣🤣👍🏼✨
It's so sad that you guys have meetings hunched over like that 🤣
As someone with hearing loss, the echoey sound of everyone's voices made it really hard for me to understand what you all were saying. I know it's hard to capture sound when you've got so many speakers but it just didn't sound professional.
(Yes, I used the captions, but sometimes had to turn them off to see the text on the screen and it's also hard to read both at the same time, so I had to keep going back and rewatching parts - once to read the text and once to read the captions. Plus the captions sometimes lagged a bit behind the speech, sometimes came before the speech and they had no punctuation, making it difficult to distinguish between speakers, all of which is annoying.)
Wong Fu knows what a haole is??????????
WHY IS ASIA SO BIG?!?
It's everything except africa for europian voyagers (before the discovery of the americas).
Read asian slaves in colonial Mexico : from chinos to indians.
I feel like in recent years, Justin Timberlake has taken more and more attention away from this month…
Whenever they say I’m Asian, I usually say I’m not (even tho I am.) I just say “im not Asian, I’m Chinese” because Asian is too broad of a term
You’re complicating. Just respond “yes, Asian, but Chinese to be more specific”
@@aznbspikey why? Just straight up say you are Chinese, I mean Asia is broad, you can be Eastern european Russian and be considered Asian if you do say that. People need to learn that Asia consist of a lot of countries
You're all wrong. It's called LGBTIQA+ 💀
I just want to know who’s down with OPP - ?
first
Who cares ?! Lol
Hey Wong Fu. It's been 14 years since the first Yellow Fever video and 8 years since the second one where you said "there's more you'd like to cover".
It is now 2024 and once again AAPI month.
When are you actually going to deliver on that and have a real honest talk about the prevalence of internalized racism and pedestalization of white-centric masculinity?
When are you going to have a honest discussion about the complicity of our own community in desexualizing and stigmatizing Asian men through racial stereotyping?
When are you going to talk about the individuality our own people offer to white men while letting Asian men bear collective punishment for the mistakes of our worst individuals?
Okay, but really. All these months dedicated to checkmark groups is kind of ridiculous. Nothing screams inclusion liek excluding a bunch of groups too.
It’s horrible ever race got a month besides the caucasians were is are month lol
