- What's going on everybody Rob here with a little video on installing a shower ring for a clawfoot bathtub. These are the old cast-iron bathtubs that are in the 1910 houses. If you go to antique shop and try to buy the shower ring is like $500 dollars but if you pick up this set you have to put together from Minard's is like $40. It took me about an hour to put it together and install it upside down LOL then the next day I had to flip it over. Fully we would rather have the bathroom redone with just a standup shower. But for now this showering those come in handy on this old clawfoot bathtub. To make the shower spicket I just use quarter-inch copper pipe. And converted this clawfoot bathtub to a shower.

This is perfect for rentals!! Free standing tub. Forget about paying thousands of dollars to make or remodel a bathroom. Get a free standing tub and call it a day.

How does it say in the ceiling? mine fell down. Are you screwed through a stud?

Your drill bit dimension should be 15/64ths not 15/32nds. Other than that your video is pretty good. It is not the easiest to install by ones self, but I managed. Thanks.
Does it matter if my tub is reverse yours? The foot is against the wall.
Should I get a plumber or carpenter. Because I don't have shower head either. It is only a tub right now.
It's symmetrical, either way works. You'll have to attach it to the wall and ceiling directly with or without a shower head.
Do the curtains make the ring sag ??? How does it hold up?
