Thank you for the post, that's exactly why my Champ Generator did not want to stay running, after unplugging the Oil sensor, the Generator will stay running.

I installed a toggle switch for fast troubleshooting on oil shut down wire
It’s good to pick up one end 3 inches and drop it before starting 😊

Thank you. After going through a list of things I found you. The only thing is I no longer have the oil sensor connected BUT my generator works again. Do you have a video on how to replace the sensor?

You mentioned the sensor is "real easy to change". It appears to me the engine block has to be taken apart. Am I missing something?

Sorry, that I was late to answer your question. I was in a car accident. I meant that it was easy to disconnect the wiring to the oil pressure sensor all you have to do is disconnected the wiring to the low oil sensor and monitor the oil level. Some generator do not have that feature. If you want to change out the low oil sensor call the Champion help line. They are open 24/7. When you get on the line and it saids that we are closed just stay on the line you will get more options. They are the best customer service that l have ever seen. Bill

Looks to me it just unscrews out of the block. It would be really dumb if the block had to be taken apart to replace a sensor.

If your oil sensor is on will your spark plug still spark?

Your oil sensor is not on your spark wire. It is on the engine. Look in your manual in the parts list diagram to see the location of the oil sensor.

Sorry, I don't know. I would call Champion at 1 877-338-0999. The call center is open 24/7 say on the line and don't hang up. It may say the office is closed but the call center is open. If there is an answer they will have it.

You Want to get it fixed But as long as you make sure the oil is not low or ever gets low you will be fine. The reason that there is a low oil sensor, running the generator on low oil can cause catastrophic damage. If you decide to run your generator with the low oil sensor disconnected make sure you constantly check your oil. I would have no problem running my generator with the oil sensor disconnected I constantly check my oil anyway. It is very easy to change the oil sensor. Just order the part from Champion and have someone install it for you. Champion call center is very helpful. If you have any more questions just let me know.
