Family is all away or dead. So I get the very good fortune to wander around and film a city that is very empty of pedestrians but super festive and lovely. At the end of that, home, hot chocolate, lap cat, and editing.
My favorite full frame lens for the Sigma FP is actually the LOMO OKS1-56-1 (56mm F3) lens for medium format. Perfect clarity and amazing resolution all the way through, wide-open already zero fringing etc.
Finally after so many years im going to get a digital camera set up again (been shooting purely in film and tape last 2-3 years). Will be getting a used FP (only option), full DPL set up with. 50mm and 50-100mm nanomorphs and the anamorphic adapter. with a single rod adapter i found for wireless follow focus. Yes it does end up making it a bit more bulky but nothing most small bags cant handle.
Merry Christmas to you as well! Gotta say in my humble opinion your product shots easily outclass the entire competition on UA-cam. I love how you film your Gear B-Roll. What camera/lens combo are you using to get those interesting flares and reflections? Any additional filtration or post production aside from color grading?
Thanks so much! That means a lot to me ❤️ my kit is a SIGMA fp with SIGMA cine primes 24, 50, 85 and 85 w/ macro tubes. SOMETIMES I use the 35mm. The flares are all the lenses Nd in camera. I use a smaller flashlight and hit the angles that create flares. I use a clear pro mist and the odd reflection artifacts are cause by a prism lens FX split diopter/half halo filter. I am gonna start live streaming my product b roll session on IG occasionally, so stay tuned over there for more. Merry Christmas!
I was also impressed by Caleb's minimal rig video from the dslr channel but there's one thing I didn't understand and maybe you can tell me: How will I access the camera's features if the SSD and battery are blocking the monitor? Is it possible to do it through the monitor connected to the camera? thx...
So for the most part it does not block the buttons and you can see all the screen options on the HDMI feed. So I actually control my menu through the EVF. If you want to use an external monitor that is an option too. The only thing you lose is the ability to use the touch screen focus spot control, but I just use the dial for that
Happy holidays to you too. Nice video. You tightened your screws to the T5 caddie and it pushes the print against the mag. I had the same problem. I think Caleb should modify that attachment slightly in his print, because it needs to give the screws more depth, or use slightly shorter screws.
When I had a Sigma 70-200, I would rotate the tripod collar up so the foot would in the 12-oclock position and be out of the way of my hand holding the lens.
I haven’t heard any stirrings on it. But I don’t get super advanced notice. BUT I will say this camera will be timeless, even with a new version it will still be a beast of a camera
Anson always crushin it! Merry Christmas, sir. Going to be picking up a few Sigma C series lense for upcoming trip to Spain. Thinking about the 24 and 65. Also, you should put the link to that dope hoodie in the description!
Thanks so much! Merry belated Christmas to you! Both are fantastic lenses, you thinking the f3.5 (I can’t remember the speed exactly) to cut down on weight?
@@Ansonandco I was thinking about the 65mm F2 i Series BUT then I started looking at the 7artisans 50mm spectrum prime because I really do like the declicked aperture at that price point. when I look at the Sigmas (for the declicked aperture) I keep getting pulled back to the Art Series because that quality is so superb. So another words - I have made no progress hahahaha
my favorite lens for the fp is a weird one = 45mm zeiss tessar hard adapted to EF then MC-21 adapter. Its the same size as the kit lens even with the adapter but with the zeiss charm lol
You’re selling me on this camera as a b cam for my P6k but I also want to be able to shoot stills. My issue is that I haven’t seen much content in the stills department.. can you point me in the right direction?
Im planing to get a sigma fp but my lap is macbook air M2 8gb variant, so I want to know if my laptop can handle the cinema dng and will it be smooth in davinci ?
What is your favorite holiday tradition?

Nice! That is an amazing lens option. I love the lomos medium format lenses
looking great. I still have my FPL... considering now selling my Q3 instead :D I just have a weak spot for the Sigma

Keep it going. It’s three years old now but still a beautiful camera. Good tips, as usual.
Thanks! I’m excited for the future of this camera

Yeah I talked to someone about it. That is 100% what happened. I panicked hahaha t5 drives are like gold now lol
Happy holidays to you!
I have seen these Sigma contemporary lenses in silver before but can never find them, is this a custom or just a simple paint removal? thanks
It was a VERY limited series that sigma made, they are unpainted. I received it as a gift for the work I do with them
How much footage do yo get on your 2GB SSD? I'm thinking CDNG 12 bit, both in HD and 4K.
When I had a Sigma 70-200, I would rotate the tripod collar up so the foot would in the 12-oclock position and be out of the way of my hand holding the lens.
I do that if it’s rigged up, but I do love it for placing my palm.
I’m looking to get the sigma fp in the next 2 mos. My only concern is that they may release an upgrade of the fp before end of year.

Thanks for all the info
Really looking to pull the trigger on the FP 😁👍🏼
You won't regret it

Love it! Happy Holidays, and i deifntiely want to make a similar rig once i snag my second sigma fp 🙌🏾
yeah dude this is my go to for my second fp. the other always stays in cine mode PL mode
That's awesome! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Great! Happy new year

Nice! I may have to check this one out. Thanks for the call out🤘🏻
Do you know of any l to pl adapters. For example I want to use my l mount lens for a pl mount camera.
That would not be possible. The flange distance on L is shorter than PL, and so adapter PL to L is possible, but the reverse is not
@@Ansonandco Fuck
The fp is great. And a great camera doesn't age.
have you ever upscaled the fps 1080p 60fps to 4k 60 in davinci resolve. I'm just wondering if it will actually look good?
I haven’t but It may be worth testing
Man i wish i could still buy this cage, my niceyrig one is terrible
I would say to buy mine but I do love it too much hahah
@@Ansonandco new sigma product announcement in 3 days. Could it be? 👀

What kind of stills are you trying to do?
Do you think it's necessary to have a color sheet with the fp even thought it has El Zone?
I think it is good practice and couldn’t hurt
Does the evf display the entire dynamic range of the camera? Or is it just similar to the back lcd?
It does not, it shows the same exact image as the rear display.
cute little setup
Hahaha thanks dude
Hello, can you recomend me a lense adapter to use my nikon f mount lenses with the autofocus on the fp ?
I don’t think Nikon adapters have AF functionality. I think that was something Nikon held close to the chest and so I don’t think it’s possible
thank you for the answer@@Ansonandco
Which lens is on the Fp in the thumbnail?
It is an unpainted 45mm f2.8 I series lens from SIGMA.
@@Ansonandco wow ditching the lens hood makes it look very small
