  • Since 1983, the Autism Treatment Center of America has presented The Son-Rise Program - a truly child-centered approach (for children and adults diagnosed with Autism and other related disorders) in which you’ll move with your child, instead of going against them. This creates a deeply loving, deeply respectful learning environment, enabling both you and your child to build a joyful connection together. Then, using a step-by-step educational process, you’ll inspire a love of learning from your child. We put parents in the driver’s seat as key teachers, therapists and directors of their own programs, utilizing the home as the most nurturing environment to help their children dramatically improve in all areas of learning, development, communication and skill acquisition.

    Kate great video and great book on your language launcher, One big point that must be observed is, "Was the child speaking or understanding words before they were diagnosed with autism". You are correct there is no magic number of the age other than before the age of 2 our brains process information differently than 3 and old. This is proven by MRI in much research. After the age of 6 the person starts to process information as a adult. This is where the question of when was the person diagnosed with autism. Any way I could go on and on with this and would love to speak some day with you but since I live in another country on the other side of the world it may never happen. Thanks

    Can you please clarify do we do this in the playroom only or throughout of the day because sometimes this is difficult to do as I have other kids . Also I am doing it in the playroom for now. Please advise.

      In the playroom is where this will really take hold but around the house, when you can, is good practice too. You can involve your other kids if they're willing, to help practice your "word of the day".

    Is it useful to teach not yet verbal child a sign/gesture language (showing gestures while saying words) or is it disturbing the development of a spoken language in ASD children?

      It’s useful to not do this scam. How much is the class now? 3000 for a weekend? 5000? Probably more. There is no cure for autism. You are desperate because you are in disbelief you had a disabled child. There’s actual help that won’t make you go bankrupt. You know this deep down too. Don’t believe me? Let me know In ten years when your kid is just as autistic, but worse than their autistic peers because you never got them proper help and practice, and you’re living on the street because these people charged you 15 k for a class and 500$ for a one on one.

    My child sing nursery rhymes. No other clear sound. How to use this concept with this?

    • @jbee1116
      @jbee1116 3 роки тому +2

      Use the child's favorite rhyme along with visuals of the rhyme.
      Example: twinkle twinkle little star. When they are at a green light, Hold a huge paper star above your head or draw it. Act out the song. Demonstrate "up above" by reaching as far as you can with the star. Use pictures or a globe when referring to the "world so high" using the song, connect and explain what is happening in the song and those key words in their favorite song. Doing this will link the brain to other words, sounds, and encourage them to dance or follow along.

      Part of the sonrise program is having your child in a *nearly* empty room with only a few toys. You start by focusing on only 3 words or so. Show him that words are not just sounds we sing but that words MATTER and words MOVE us. Find what his favorite thing to do and in the playroom, BE QUIET! name it only before you do it. If his favorite thing is to jump, while you both jump together say "jump!" And stop when you stop jumping. If he says jump himself start jumping again! He will eventually connect the word to the action. Do not rush into "We are jumping now" do not rush to "do you want to jump with me" keep your language simple. Name the action or object only. If his favorite thing is apples, only say apples in the playroom when you roll them or squeeze them, point to them or draw them and connect Apple to the word. Imagine when you first started learning a new language you started with small words and connecting them to visual examples. This is the same with our children. Go steady and his words will connect and soon grow, once he sees that Specific Words do wonderful things for him!

      @@ananse77 Watched it happen to close family members. Use your head for one second. Why would sitting in a room and copying someone’s actions cure autism? Why would there only be ONE example of a kid ( Ron ) who was born autistic, and is now completely cured. Btw, Ron was under 4 years old in the movie the “Sunrise Miracle” filmed in the 1970s. Look up how old a child had to be before an autism diagnosis was given. I’ll give you a hint, it’s much older than 4. This is simply one of many scams to take place to target desperate parents.
      Why does it cost so much money for advice you could read about online for free? Did you know that when you go to option institute, it’s $300 an hour to have a 1:1 with “Bears”? Don’t be fooled.
