ive been doing this for a long time and am a firm believer that just "playing the game" as in farming through the acts is a good way to find cool stuff and its atleast fun

Map for jungle bit either generates as a circle or straight. Thats why the zones feel so different. Thank god the city is standardized.

Actually farming the flayer jungle on p5 or p7 is great on some characters like a multishot bowazon. The density is insane there.

This is literally how I've played D2 for the last 20 years! Still do it today most of the time. Thats how I found my first Jah but then lost it to a crash
When I started playing 20 years ago I thought that every unique is in every created game on random monster and just never found the one who has it 😅
Something I do when I want to go for a full game clear is the souls trick. It takes some time, but it's worth it to do 1x or 2x for the extra 1000% MF. You should try this, it can definitely improve results.

im a terminal sorc player. i do run/walk every act/quest on daily basis 💀
jokes aside this kind of playthrough actually helps to rest between focused farming sessions. so ill recommend to set your favourite zones into one big run. to run it once in a while.

What was weird was it seemed to me in the old D2 that after I-3 uniques dropped the game didn’t want to drop anymore so I would reset. Anyone else experience similar?
Is it potentially worth it to utilize the magic find exploit (the one in act 4 where you have to get the enemies in a certain pattern, and then your MF goes up until you leave the game)? Assuming the full clear takes 5 hours, you'd have 5 hours of increased magic find.
i switch it up sometimes out of bordem but i do like to keep it in stimulating areas and ideally lvl 85 areas. but I'm not gonna lie. i spend probably 50% of my ladder in the halls of nilathak. the other half i spend doing ubers and helping noobs/rushing people... nilathak doesn't have good drop odds but he drops dem d's keys. and i've found arach's, ber, mara's and more down there but he isn't a good mf location. he's mostly just for d keys and once in a while you'll find a base worth keeping or a small fortune.
Now im convinced to do a full clear. Nice nice finds!!
Man your videos really make me wanna jump back into the game. I've had so much fun with the original and met some very cool people through it plus I played the Nova sorc back then too and it was a lot of fun, but I've also become a trophy hunter over the last few years and getting the platinum for D2R takes A LOT of time and starting from scratch also kinda sucks. Not even touching on the fact that I have no idea what I even wanna play like all kinds of Sorcs, but also Hammerdin or Summoner.

This ladder, the only two HRs i dropped were both from random areas while running through hell with new character. Jah from plains of despair and Lo from Rakanishu :D
Popping all chests, etc,? I’ve had high runes drop from chests over the years. I still remember having a Sur drop from a chest in Stony Field and then getting a Gul in Tristram in the same game.

You can trade for runes and keys, but it just adds a bit more interesting things to do.
This gives me a bit less brain melting repetitiveness and a good variety things to do and item drops.
Pretty fast to run, especially if you skip The Pit and BAAL, and gets pretty good items.

If I have time I do:
Countess, andy, summoner, meph, diablo, baal, and cows, sometimes adding in pindle eldrich and shienk or nilithak. Since terror zones were introduced I sometimes play that too if it's an interesting zone
Streamer, I use a Dragondin/ infinity merc for this. It's low effort but effective.
Since you missed uber locations, I demand a repeat 😂 gj! 🎉
I have a little tidbit to share.
If you're still missing a unique ring, or say, Tyreals, full game clears are actually a great idea.
You cannot ID the same unique item in the same game.
So if you get a Templars/unique Sacred Armor from running Baal, stay in the same game and farm every 85 area in the game to guarantee that your next unique Sacred Armor will be a Tyraels.
Getting 2 unique Sacred Armors to drop in the same game has its own rediculous odds, but if it does happen, that Tyraels will be yours.
I used this method to increase my ring/amulet odds mostly, if you get a nagel/manald,nokozan, take the extra 2 minutes to run Andy/Meph and it is guaranteed they will not drop that same unique Ring/Ammy if you are still in the same game.

I play single players PS4 Offline, and I clear every room and turn over every barrel, to body, to bedspread for gold and loot. It’s an obsession of mine. I rarely find anything rare on the main monsters unless Andariel. Unless I’m in a hurry I clean out everything and all monsters must go!
I've always thought about doing this, but never have gone through with it.

I always thought about this. Wondered like how many drops get “lost” because of all the mobs being left alive.
Best way to farm from my experience is full speed clear chaos sanctuary and baal (including the different levels). If you manage to gave high end gear sorc or javazon you can speed farm those easy
i ocassionally do something similar to this, i just skip maggot lair and the first half of the act3.

Ive been doing this since s1. Took me longer than 5.5 hrs per clear though your sorc is fast 😊 i seemed to find 1hr per full clear more or less
I do Rambo Runs, like the Alkaizer´s runs in the good old D3 times.
Can be fun though to farm alternative locations though.

We did a full game online 3 guys just at the end of the last season. Lo Ber and arachnid mesh!!!
I usually farm every act going to those level 85s and boss kills every time I play. I've farmed same area or boss over and over but I seem to have better luck just hitting the best farming spots in every act. I'll switch it up too, because I have my favorite spots then go to ones I don't normally do. Keeps it interesting imo
Damn over 16 hours you got hosed imo. But glad you did the research for the rest of it. I do like a few choice zones in a game instead of 1 specific place or the entire game. For example I'll do shenk/eld then chaos then cows. Kinda a best of for my toon. If I feel like it could throw andy/meph/baal into the mix. Thats how I like to MF everyone has their preferences.
I started a HC ladder barb doing this so I could take my time and I just dropped a Jah off some trash mob in Great Marsh literally just playing through the game. Haven't even beat Hell yet.
Use the city of the dammed MF Easter Egg before doing full game clears. You can strip off all MF and go pure DPS
Hey Phill try one full run,but do the souls trick first in Act 4.After that go for the run.
I believe there will be a difference.
I clear every monster in the entire game 3 times for each char, on normal, nm and hell. Then I do runs, but I enjoy clearing entire areas vs just killing bosses and uniques or whatever. I'm on the anti-enigma team, just walking and dungeon crawling like it's meant to be done. And I do well for myself in terms of mf'ing.
for full game clears you need to do that souls mf glitch, even then, taking the time to stack it can make it a pain
Also full game bosses/mini bosses works for me
theres a cool thing in the game that the same game cannot drop the same uniques. so for example, sometimes when i drop a unique ring i'll just keep going knowing another manald cannot drop. at the end you can also gamble to increase your odds. but its a cool concept but too many item types to actually be viable. there should be rewards for staying in the same game 😊
You should do the mf cheese trick with the souls in act 4. That will give you max mf for every monster. It will give much better results

I just run all bosses and key holders. And cows. But cows make me tired lol
I abhor A3 so there's no way I could do this lol. If I want to switch up my runs rather than target farming for an item, I'll usually add some notable mini bosses in A5 like Eld, Shenk, Pindle and Thresh. And/or Tombs. Just find those are a lot more rewarding for time spent.
How much time does it take for a full game clear?

nova es diaper mode cannot handle mfing full games but fhr vita res lightning sorc can do it all day long. try less crippled builds and the entire game unlocks.

Infinity merc'ed Javazon w crack of heavens, full mf and just ok resists clears everything super fast, no prob at all. Might be easier

Act III Jungle is the worst. Just the absolute worst. I’ll run the entire game and skip the jungle every single time. But when farming entire areas, it’s best to target the Unique mobs and corpse/chest/basket checks, and simply skip the rest.
I’ve been playing this way long before terror zones were a thing. I can’t stand playing the same area over and over 🤮
I wish I can go back and tell 21 year old me not to full game clear D2 in 2001😂

Ive done this for years. Create a game and play the whole game
I played D2 for many years here are the best mf tips for better drops:
1. Do not play any single character more than an hour a time when magic finding the PIts for example..............drops diminish after a certain amount of play time or runs.
2. After an hour switch characters and change difficulty to NM Or normal. Kill a few monsters and log out and swap characters again. ....even consider shutting down the game and turning back on.
3. When you log back into Main MF character change your MF % up or down by 5% or any amount really.....but do not keep the exact same MF.
I don't know why this works but somehow if you do this I have found after hundreds and hundres and hundreds of hours of MF that your luck will be much much better. If you are going to find an incredible item it is probably going to happen within 20 to 60 minutes
