I love those old paces.had a nice look to them.i remember those ssb lights the most a light blue, amber and white.they looked great.my first cb base was a 1000b that was "40channels".really miss it.thanks for video.
CBs and some other electronic assemblies surprise me, the things people do to them yet they can still be repaired somewhat easily. Not always though. I've never run across a 23 channel with sideband.
What you probably do not know, this is the model that was in Snowman's truck in Smokey and the Bandit. Valuable to people building replica trucks

Yes I do walk ins for my local customers but never have done any long distance stuff just due to the logistics and honestly the local repairs are keeping me pretty ole busy.
Quite an old looking design! I think it will live again. I wish people that didn't have a clue would stay the hell out of the inside of CBs! Mind you, I made a bit of money fixing everyone's cock-ups for a while, all the screwdriver experts work needed undoing 🙄 Mind you it was easier being mostly FM CBs we had over here. One expert gave me loads of work, everyone just appeared at my door, "I have just had my CB tuned by P**** and it is ten times worse than it was" my response was always the same "Stay the hell out of the CB". Some of the attempted repairs I have seen 🙄
I hear you half my repairs come for what I call golden screwdriver tech's they just go in there and turn everything till they get more watts and then wonder why it doesn't sound good anymore LOL..
