For all you haters out there, Cecilia has seen the video and met the singer and loves it!
It's hysterical.
It is hilarious!
Love it
Cecilia seems very sweet and for sure would understand that this is out of love, cause you have to watch lots of footage to learn mannerisms. high level of humour.. Cecilia is pure talent.
Cecilia is WONDERFUL, such generous, good humor person. And this singer has a great voice too.
Unbelievably good. Cecilia must feel honoured. You don't get imitated by someone with this amount of talent unless there is a high degree of admiration. Wonderful artist and great stage animal on top of it!
Yes, she loved it! She called him 'mia sorella' ^^ - link to interview with Kimchilia: ua-cam.com/video/6wdxX8ytIng/v-deo.html
This is hysterical. He even has her mannerisms down perfectly. He has a great voice also.
This wonderful!
Justin must have spent ages studying all of Bartoli's little(and not so little) mannerisms.
It's completely musical, and yet it's incredibly funny.
Good for you Justin.
This is a hysterical (and spot on) parody. I only wish the audience would stop whooping and clapping through so much of it, so we could appreciate the singer's considerable skill on display in this bravura aria.
First of all, you made an aria that is difficult enough as it is - even more difficult. And you sang it in a magnificent way.
Then, a parody is ALWAYS a work of love and devotion. And it is evident in every move and every note that you love CB. And yes, it is very funny, and to the point, while it is not blasphemous or mocking. I heard CB herself loved it, and I can clearly see why.
The amount of work you put into it is incredible and the result worth every drop of your blood, sweat, and tear.
Impossible to express it better than you.
He is amazing. I fail to understand why some people can't see it. They have never sung themselves, obviously.
They want to pretend they know a lot about opera and singing etc. by degrading people, while in reality they know nothing...
Ele está fazendo uma imitação da cantora Cecilia Bartoli! É por isso que estão rindo.. affff
@Doina Ene yes he :) can not stop wondering how he can sing like that amazing man
@OperaSingerKara I think her movements and expressions add so much to her artistry, and I love the fact that she gives her whole self to serve the music. Thank you!
Parody is the highest form of admiration
Never laughed so hard while enjoying an operatic parody of one of the best singers in the world ~ this is GOLD!!! Love it!!!
They met in a Bartoli concert in Dortmund! I and my sister were there and we saw him. I was already a fan of both. Then he posted a photo of him and Cecilia together ❤️
Absolutely hilarious yet at the same time fantastic execution of the notes
@joaquinquilez Hey, thank you so much for the compliments! It was an end-of-the-school-year thing that I've been wanting to do since freshman year, and also a one time only thing :)
It's wonderful!
Holy Mother of God! I was about to give my respects to the “mezzo” singing here and the pianist... Only after reading this comment I realized it’s actually a countertenor!!! Awesome job, this video made my day!!! BRAVISSIMO!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hey! Did really Cecilia meet you?
It's good for a change to see some transformist who imitates a different kind of diva, and without lipsynching too 😎
He has her down to a tee. I am certain even Cecilia would love and laugh at every minute of this. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well done.
This is unreal. My jaw was dropped the entire time. The impression was hilariously spot on, and WHAT A VOICE! Congrats to you. I bow to thee. hahaha.
i love it when people still say thee
Oh, he's just got the whole thing down so well -- the head and face duckings are enough to kill you without the arm flailing and the hair flipping. Brilliant parody work, and very informed singing too or it would not have worked. Yes - I think Cecilia would laugh herself silly to see it.
She did. Her response when Justin introduced himself was "Kimchilila. Mia sorella," and to suggest that he needed lots of feathers for his act.
As a lover of comedy and a huge Cecilia Bartoli fan, this is marvelous! If you listen to any impressionist speak of the people they impersonate, it's most often from a place of respect and love. Need more of this! Would love to see someone do a Dmitri Hvorostovsky parody
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
I love Cecilia Bartoli and I laughed my a** off watching this. This is so spot on! Very talented
Absolutely brilliant, how much do you love her?
I adore Cecilia, what is so remarkable about this is how closely he matches her vocal timbre and coloratura skill. Incredible!!’ ❤❤❤❤❤
I think it's pretty clear it's an affectionate parody of Cecilia - I absolutely love her and I think she is without parallel in this piece, but I also think this parody is hilarious.
It's so funny and he did really good on such a difficult aria.
Well would you believe it but this very weekend I saw that Cecilia Bartoli - in her role as Artistic director of the opera in Monte Carlo - engaged this singer to perform with her in Giulio Cesare and it was quite frankly the finest performance of a Handel opera I've ever seen. Kim played Sesto and was amazing
Fantastic!!! It a lovely and funny Hommage to Cecilia!
What people don’t seem to get who find Bartoli’s body movement and facial expressions disconcerting or risible is that Bartoli sings not just through her vocal cords but with and from her entire body. Her “instrument” is her physicality. As it should be. And yes this is a great parody.
finally somebody who gets it!
I can never get enough of his performance for many reasons! Firstly, his extraordinary vocals! And of course his amazing acting!!
To be THIS FUNNY, you have to be JUST THIS SKILLED. This is COMEDY GOLD! 😂❤😂
Even bartoli would enjoy this....it's funny....
aida bach she does enjoy it - they met after a concert, and Cecilia said she was a fan and called Kim, 'Mia sorella'!
I think she would adore him! There is a difference between having fun and mockery... This guy is talented and just very good natured!
Sean Redmond see comment above. She has seen it and she loves it!
I agree, profesor Gallo.
She actually did.
wow... that's amazing for a counter tenor to hit a2....
Love Cecilia. Love this parody.
So do I
Cecilia is a parody
Oh my god! You nailed Cecilia Bartoli!
This is very funny because his body gyrations are so exactly spot-on. I've rewatched Cecilia's Vivaldi video many times. But apart from her supernaturally astonishing voice, she looks like she's going into battle. That makes this parody even more hilarious. Justin could make a career of this sort of vocal impersonation.
I was getting ready to read her but shes HILLARIOUS
Cristian Camilo bien dicho!
Cierto es, a este nivel las parodias son homenajes !,
parody aside the voice isn't bad!
I've seen this clip several times, and I can't get enuff~! haha. SO great. Great representation, and with a great voice!....dare I ask for more Kimchilia Bartoli clips~?! ^_^
Simply amazing!!! I hope you can have a collaboration with Cecilia Bartoli soon...its about time...Kimchilia you are sooooo amazing!!!
Ms Bartoli loves it, and Justin is a fantastic "straight" singer.
One is a true artist when professionals do parodies of you, and you can enjoy them, Standing ovation for Cecilia and Kimchilia
I can't believe it ! At the beginning I thought the voice was a recording of Cecilia.
This has gone round the London Philharmonic Choir - we all LOVE you! AMAZING! THANK you so much!!
But what a great voice HE has!!!!
EVERYONE IN MY SINGING DEPARTEMENT LOVES THIS!!! Want more pls!!!😂
@mircavalcante Thanks for the criticism. The truth of the matter is that NOBODY can do what Miss Bartoli does; if I weren't singing as Kimchilia, I wouldn't have attempted to sing the runs with glottal attacks on each note or on a different vowel shape every time. I mean they work for her and ONLY for her, which makes her that much more unique and special.
p.s. I will tell you that this aria is not a part of my repertoire, since it's not meant for a male singer/character!
Dear Kim, this imitation honours you and Cecilia Bartoli (I know Cecilia since 1988, when she her debut as Cherubino at Zurich opera). The parody shows your artistry and proofs that Cecilia is a superstar. A person is really famous when she or he is parodied.
You're a great singer. Congratulations!
This is everything, and it shall continue to be everything. I swear to god at least 100,000 of those views have to be me :P
OMG ! it's amazing ! Love Cecilia and love Kimchilia !!! :)
I came here from your 2017 role as Nerone on the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras channel and I am so thrilled that I decided to Google you.
Wtf?! LOL
I'm sure Cecilia has seen this and she likes most
No, I'm sure she doesn't.
Actually they meet a time ago.
@@serr2007 she did: ua-cam.com/video/Eehk5reAN-c/v-deo.html
Con mucho respeto y admiración a la gran cecilia, está imitación paródica es buenisima
love it. I have known a lot of serious opera singers over the years, and the really good ones are totally cool--even a bit saucy. I'm sure Cecilian would enjoy this. I was amazed that his voice was realll good.
I've been laughing for 5 minutes like an idiot ... too strong imitation !!
Пародист- мастер пения! Браво! Пианист- браво!
You have such a talent... Keep on being as creative...
I'm sure she appreciated your complimenting her. You both are very special, Thanks for presentation.
I just could not stop laughing! What a legend!
Great musicianship & great humor - I'll be giggling for at least a week. Brava! um, I mean, Bravo!
Really nice performance, how much do you love this song?
Fabulosa paródia! Hilária, traz felicidade a qualquer um. Magnífico!
funny, but also pretty darn amazingly well sung.
No it is not "pretty darn amazingly sung". It is sung with a breathy, aspirated coloratura, unsupported sound, just like shitty singers like Di Donato and Bartoli do
@@Tkimba2 And your debuts at the Met and ROH are when? Or have we missed them?
@@annabelwaterfield6108 gurl, whet?
This is literally stupendous in every single way
Really really so on POINT!!!! Hilarious and yet very well sung.
@lmz1692 Thank you very much! She is my favorite. "Armatae face et anguibus" is one of my go-to arias now; all thanks to Cecilia. I even named my car after her.
this singer is just amazing!! Beautiful Hommage!!!
The world needs you right now 🤩
even though it's a parody, he still managed to sound SO GREAT!! daebak!!! XD
Victor Borge is probably rolling in his grave laughing at this! :-)
Very clever and he has a great voice as well. A talented singer in his own right.
Why is this the best thing ever?
This meeting should definitely been recorded =/ I'm sure Cecilia Bartoli enjoys the parody as we do!
hahahahaha funny loved cecilia's performance but love this parody as well xD
@davidoski001 Thank you! It especially means a lot from someone who can sing Bach like that! I love your Deposuit Potentes.
What a wonderful and loving tribute to Cecilia, she has a wonderful sense of humour and much generosity of spirit so not surprised at all that she loved this as much as I did. Thanks Jim for sharing❤️
I have 2 videos of cecilia doing agitata, the blue dressed one and the red dressed one. I deleted the red dressed one to put this in. Great, inspiring performance.
That was gorgeous!!!! Great job dude you're hilarious.
Hermosa, talentosa y graciosa ❤️
So difficult to make a parody in such a respecful way! I´ve seen this video many times and each one shows a new and amazing detail. Best regards from Buenos Aires, dear artist.
Listen to him in his real persona as well. This parody is both funny as hell and musically exquisite even when exaggerated. His real singing in countenor roles is wonderful.
amazing parody, wow, such talent! :D
You are officially my hero!!!!! Loving this SO MUCH!
Bravo!!!!!! For a really good parody the singer has to have talent which you obviously have and a great sense of humor. I'm still laughing!
Maybe you didn't notice but the OP states: "I performed as my favorite operatic singer, Cecilia Bartoli." I think he did a very good job at capturing her passion for the coloratura music that she mostly performs.
always brightening my day, Jkim. Even during finals week
@mezzotater Thank you for the kind words! I have a recital coming up, and it will be uploaded to my serious channel, jkimismusic. Please check it out!!!
I'm watching it for the third time and can't stop ... Really great Imitation!
He is actually amazing singer himself, saw him at Lincoln Center in NY a few years ago..he blew everyone away!
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAH OMG! DAT COLORATURA THOUGH
@heldentenor2b It's a joke we have. On the first day of Italian Diction Class, he brought up a story about a Korean laundry place; the owner would mispronounce Boldrey's name and say Bordley, so one day, he tried spelling his name with the 'R' and 'L' switched, and they finally said, "Hello, Mr. Boldrey!" ;)
y por lo que se sabe, Cecilia ya conoció personalmente a Kimchilia y le encantó la parodia
@serenaluce @izzyt63 @arpeggio1358 Thank you for your compliments, but please refrain from bashing on other artists. I think every artist has something to offer to the artistic world!
HAHAHA SO spot on! LOVED it XD
Freakin' MARVELOUS!!!!
Amazing voice! Wow! Would love to hear him live!
You are just wonderful, and addictive. I've been watching this video at least a couple of times a day for the past week. It's just brilliant.
I love opera comedy!!!
ah ah ah!!! love Cecilia but this one is very very funny!
That's a riot! I would love to hear what else is sung and recorded by this very talented young man, woman...man.
He has a fantastic voice and has her style, intonation and movements down to a tee. Just one thing he missed - the constantly shocked and wide-open eyes. Love this. Bartoli is my favourite singer (I've been lucky enough to see her at Covent Garden) and this is a great tribute IMHO.
So good! So good! It looks like this might have been recorded on a mic closer to the singer - would be great to head more of the voice, and less of the laughter.
What the hell did i just watch!?
I watched this video first and then Bartolli's, flawless! Had a good laugh and admired Kangmin's craftmanship. Bravo!
Any haters, back off : ) Justin, this is incredible. I think the coloratura is near flawless. Always be who you are, and I'm so excited for the amazing futures all of us I know will have in our careers : )
